Sophia's Restaurant at The Fairview InnThis restaurant truly takesThis restaurant truly takes one back in time. The setting is quiet and lovely and inviting. I particularly loved the different levels and small rooms, a cozy feel. The food was delicious, although definitely pricey.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always enjoy Sophia's forWe always enjoy Sophia's for its excellent and varied menu choices. It's friendly, relaxed atmosphere is delightful. We love
parking and walking up from the grounds to this lovely old treasure of a house. Truly a unique experience. The chef is to
be admired for his delicious presentations.
We look forward to our next visit.
Two satisfied diners6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMalways solidthis is one of our favorite neigborhood go-tos. Excellent for special occasions, date night (very romantic), and for lunch/brunch. The lunch menu is very reasonably priced. The Red Snapper tacos are amazing for lunch. I very much recommend it for lunch, dinner, and drinks at the library lounge.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMSophias at FairviewExcellent dining spot at elegant inn. Highly recommend it for any celebratory occasion, or for Sunday brunch.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy Mother's DayMy family and I had a wonderful brunch at the Fairview on Mother's Day. The food was delicious and plentiful. The wait staff was gracious as always. I think we're starting a family tradition.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI also look for the smokedI also look for the smoked salmon and wonderful veggie dishes. As a vegetarian, who eats seafood, I always have amazing choices.
My mother said that the chicken fingers were especially delicious.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Restaurant in townSophia's is, hands down, the best restaurant in town. The sweet potato/duck confit concoction is heavenly. The fish of the day dish is always a good choice. The Library, the adjoining lounge, is a great place to have an adult beverage before and after. Elegant surroundings with a great crowd that is lively but not loud !! Perfect !!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great atmosphere-Great food, great atmosphere- a true gem in Jackson!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst Romantic DinnerI had a great time. My boyfriend and I had a very romantic dinner. The food was wonderful. We had a very comfortable relaxing nite. The waitress was very helpful and she was so nice helping us choose our dinner. I'm so glad that we had our first romantic dinner together and it was great!! Thanks(:4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGumbo and entrees were outstanding.Gumbo and entrees were outstanding. The dessert sizes were small for the price, especially the creme brulete. It was also a little rubbery. They were out of bread pudding and the chocolate pie, however, which was VERY disppointing. Had to wait a long time for the desserts to come out. The dining room was short handed that day. Beautiful setting. Will return and recommend.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMComing back often!Held a small cocktail party there. Fantastice on all levels, then followed with
a smaller number at dinner. Let's just say I am a "repeat offender" at the Fairview.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMa taste of the Old South.a taste of the Old South. Set in a fine, historic hotel amid lovely homes. Innovative menu, very well prepared and presented. Excellent menu. Memorable meal. Attentive service. Elegant and gourmet.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFar Exceeded ExpectationsSophia's is a real find. We were just passing through town and had limited expectations, but the food, wine and service at Sophia's far exceeded those expectations. The grilled radicchio salad was perfectly prepared with a grilled flavor but not wilted, and the rabbit pappardelle combined totally boneless pieces of rabbit with al dente pasta. The server was very pleasant and attentive, but not knowledgeable about the menu or the wines. But overall, a great meal at a very reasonable price.12/26/2012 12:00:00 AM
