  • "Our 1st visit to Sopapilla's. Dinner reservations at 6:45 PM. When making reservations and again when we arrived, we requested outside seating. Although several tables were available outside, it took 15 minutes to be seated. After being seated, it took a good 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our presence. Once we placed our drink order, we waited again. It was 7:30 PM when we were served our drinks - 45 minutes after we arrived at the restaurant. My husband had to 'return' his margarita as it was mostly ice, very little liquid, and an ingredient had obviously been omitted. The outdoor atmosphere was delightful and our meal was good. Probably will return at some time in hopes of better service."

The floor was not as clean as it should have been and the table was not wiped. Also, for the price and "New Mexican" cuisine, I expected homemade chips."

  • "I have been to this restaurant several times, I know the food is great. That's why I chose to bring my sister, who just moved to TN, for her first dinner out in Franklin. We were greeted by the hostess and sat promptly, but after that we received no service at all. We were approached several times by a server and hostess, asking if any one had been to our table. We told them on two separate occasions that we did not have a server yet. We were never offered drinks and we never saw our server. Our reservation was at 9 and by 9:17, we left. I was embarrassed after raving to my sister how great the restaurant was, this was not the service I expected."

  • "Sopapilla's is my families favorite restraurant! We drive from Mt. Juliet to Franklin to eat here on a regular basis. It was one of the first places I took my newborn. Yes, It is that GOOD. The waiters are wonderful and accomodating. Trust me, this is worth a try. You will love it! The ingredients are fresh and wonderful!"

  • "Our server was new, so i think that was the main issue. We ordered nachos and asked them to leave off a couple ingredients. When they arrived they had no cheese. Our server told us a red sauce was the cheese and when i questioned him he went to ask the kitchen, came back and told us they were out of cheese! A while later the manager came by with a tiny cup of cheese. At this point our nachos were cold so they remade them for us. The happy ending is that we were not charged for them. Sopapillas food is usually really good! The manager was extremely nice and apologetic!"

  • "I was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM and enjoy every facet of New Mexican food. 20 years in the Navy sent me to every continent, and I have experienced food and peppers all over the world, but when it comes to Hatch Green Chile there is NO substitute. Any Pepper Aficionado can tell you; peppers may look alike but the tastes are considerably different. This is the case with the coveted Hatch Chile. This restaurant in Franklin was wonderful. The dinning room was well organized, the service was efficiently friendly, and the food was the closest thing to NM home cooking that I have ever had outside of NM, due in no small part to the importation of the Hatch Chile. Bravo Zulu to the Owners, Staff, and with raised fork, the Chef."

  • "We've been here 3 times now and love it. We'd go more but it's a 30 drive. I wish they'd put one in West Nashville. The chips and salsa a free, generous, warm and outstanding. I'm particularly fond of the Tres Enchiladas and Mrs. Ned likes the huevos rancheros."

  • "Had dinner there on Sunday, outdoor seating was filling up fast at 6 PM. The food was wonderful but I am biased as I love New Mexico green chile. Everyone enjoyed their meals and they have a lot of variety on the menu. As usual the sopapillas ending the meal with some honey topping was the perfect "lite" dessert! Thanks!"

  • "Let me state that I still enjoy Sopapillas, and would recommend it to many of my friends who are seeking a pleasant atmosphere with tasty, authentic food. We visit Sopapillas a few times per year for special occasions, so the "recent" changes seemed significantly more abrupt. Many of our previously permitted substitutions for vegetarians were no longer available. I must also comment on the music selection. It was, in a word, abrupt. The music alternated between Three Days Grace, Bob Dylan, Coltrane jazz, and Shania Twain. Not to say any or all of these were poor choices for ambience, but we found the leaps between genres abrasive. "

  • "The cucumber margarita is a must try, I absolutely loved it. The enchiladas del mar were good however felt they skimped on the crabmeat and shrimp. I would rather pay a higher price for the entrée and have more seafood in the enchiladas. Overall it was a good experience."

  • "We went for girl's night and enjoyed the $5 margaritas! Sitting out on the patio was really great and the veggie quesadilla I ordered was really good. However, none of the other girls liked their entrees and said that it was so spicy they could barely eat theirs (and these were entrees they had all ordered before.) We would have said something to our server, but she never came back around. The service was absolutely TERRIBLE, never have we experienced someone to be so RUDE! If we wouldn't come to the restaurant on a regular basis and know what it is normally like, we wouldn't go back. "

  • "My husband & I always end up with 3 little tag-a-longs on our dates. This restaurant is great for that or just a couple. Romantic, but not too fancy. Excellent service. Their big comfy booth worked great for us. The tables were spaced out enough that each group enjoyed their privacy or weren't bothered by our little ones. Margaritas were the best! I had the house Margaritas & my husband the strawberry they were excellent. A tequila lover's paradise. The kid's menu was nice & kept them pleased. The adult menu we had fajitas- zippy, but excellent. Excellent complementary tortillas chips, good guacamole. & they bring out a complementary dessert of Sopapillas & honey which were delish & kept children happy. Our new favorite spot!"

  • "We love Sopapilla's...at least we used to. Our server, Tracy, seemed fine at first. We absolutely love the table side guacamole. The addition of pomegranate is so spectacular that even my husband who is not a guacamole fan looks forward to it. We ordered it along with an order of queso. Tracy suggested the sampler. She said it's exactly the same guac, just made in the kitchen and not table side along with the same queso and bean dip. We took exactly the same to mean exactly. You know, WITH pomegranate. Not so much. Only when we asked where the pomegranate was did she tell us it doesn't come with the sampler unless we order it on the side. Not exactly the same, huh? Lobster tacos are off the menu, too, which was also a disappointment."

I had been earlier in the week and was also a great place for a couple to dine and visit!! We look forward to many future visits! The location and outside patio are perfect for this spring!   • "Sopapilla's was a nice time in all respects. Our server, Carrie Ann (named after the old Hollie's tune), was excellent. She prepared the fresh guacamole appetizer table-side, and it was just right. The blue-corn tortillas with chicken, the stuffed sopapilla with chicken, and the beef and shrimp quesadillas were ample and tasty, and doggie-bags were had by all. The tortillas and sopapilla were eaten with a fried egg on top which added a nice touch, and was said to be more "New Mexico" authentic. We did avail ourselves of the complimentary sopapilla with honey for dessert, and it was just enough sweet and pastry to satisfy. We would recommend Sopapilla's for those times when one craves good Southwestern cuisine at a very fair price."
