  • "The last time my wife and I had supper at the Sonora Room restaurant was late summer 2003, and like then, I can't say enough positive things. Wonderful food and wine, exceptional view and ambiance, and great service. We appreciate the care shown by the chef and sommelier working closely together. The pairings were perfect between the food and wine, from the appetizers to dessert. The menu is a perfect size with choices. The little unexpected things like the mushroom soup or the chocolate dipped in slated caramel were a delightful surprise. The staff were second to no one in their attention to care and service. 3 hours went by far too quickly. We promise we won't wait 11 years to come back."

We look forward to returning when we can enjoy the outdoor ambience. We really enjoyed the wine choices by the glass. The service was exceptional."

  • "Wine, food preparation, food presentation, and taste were unbelievable! The perfect attentive service from our lovely waittress was greatly appreciated. The view, full moon, and mesmorizing harp player made for a perfect romantic evening. The salmon and duck dinners were so delicious, along with the soup, salad, creme brulee, and the squash cappacino as an appertif. Exceeded our very high expectations, the same as their merlot and pinot gris wines always do."

  • "This was the second time having dinner at this restaurant and it again was amazing! Enjoyed a 2006 burrowing owl pinot noir which i highly recommend!! Dinner was wonderful as it was previously. Highly recommend sitting out on the patio if it is nice outside as the view was amazing- also really cool that you could see the chef picking herbs and flowers for your meal."

  • "Some of the earlier reviews note spotty service, I can imagine that could occur here but we lucked out on a busy Saturday night and had a top notch experienced server, no newbies in sight. Great experience, lovely late summer evening on the patio and a packed inside. Food was very good, steady, not mind blowing. The real reason to go to this place is the library wine selection you cannot get in the tasting room - 10 year old Cab Sauvs and Francs are a couple notches above anything else around. In the top 2 or 3 places in the southern Okanagan."

  • "We were in Okanagan picking up wine. Previously we had lunch with friends at Burrowing Owl. Decided to try it for dinner since we had heard nothing but good. Needless to say we were not disappointed. Made a reservation but really no need. Because of the time of year we were the only folks in the restaurant. Personal service by the manager and the chef. Wonderful experience."

The food was excellent - a shared pear tart to begin with, seafood chioppino and beef short rib for our entrees and a shared spice cake for dessert. The wine pairings suggested were perfect with the food. Our server was professional and pleasant. We would definitely return."

  • "Prior to our departure to OK wine country we could not get a Saturday night reservation for The Sonora Room. So, I booked Friday night instead! After dining there, I understood why. The service, food and environment was exactly what we needed; however our shuttle was scheduled for a 2 hour dinner which proved to be not enough time for us to be fully relaxed. Our Saturday night shuttle was booked for a 2 hour 40 time slot; way better!"

  • "The fodd was very good and creatively prepared, as it should be. The portion size was perfect, and did not let you leave hungry. Perhaps the top of the creme brulee can be improved. A very good wine list with great choices to buy by the glass or half liter which allows for better pairing."

It was perfectly cooked. One of our five diners had steak and it was cooked to perfection as well. The service was friendly, and attentive, without being pushy. As expected the wines were great."
