We have been there before and were hoping for the same ambience. The food is good not great. Not the best winery food I have ever had but it is artfully put together and the amazing wine makes up for what the food lacks. The service was amazing."

  • "We were very pleased by our starters and both had the duck confit for the main course--which is the best we've ever had. However, someone didn't understand pacing in a fine dining restaurant. So we had a glass of sparkling wine to begin, then our appetizers showed up with an accompanying wine. Got that finished and almost immediately the main course and the wine for it showed up. Give us a little time please--we're not in a hurry."

  • "Our second dinner there in consecutive years. Food overall was very good. Beautifully presented and extra points for using local products and their originality. Had some issues with a common dietary restriction, but altogether quite good. Service also very good. incredibly pleasant and professional staff. A few things when asked for took quite a while. There were moments when the pace lagged and other tables around had similar items arrive quite a bit before our table, but overall very good. The view and patio is stunning, one of the best in the Okanagan. However the inside of the room is old and dated. Looks like it was decorated in the early 90's and needs updating Overall very nice dinner, very pricey @ $100 per person with tip & tax."

  • "My Mom lives in Oliver and we've eaten at the Sonora Room before but our lunch on Mother's Day was perfect. Mom started with a glass of Sumac Ridge Stellar's Jay to celebrate the day. We shared the Antipasti Platter, such a variety and locally sourced. We were seated at the corner table which offered views up and down the valley--the best seats in the house! Each table has it's own heater that the staff can turn off individually. We both chose the Seafood Cioppini and we weren't disappointed. The broth was well rounded with a nice spiciness. The staff didn't rush us and honoured us by taking the requested photos. They really set the tone for a great Mother's Day. Thank you to the staff of the Sonora Room!"

We shared a half litre of the 2006 Burrowing Owl Syrah which is delicious and regrettably no longer available outside the restaurant.   • "The last time my wife and I had supper at the Sonora Room restaurant was late summer 2003, and like then, I can't say enough positive things. Wonderful food and wine, exceptional view and ambiance, and great service. We appreciate the care shown by the chef and sommelier working closely together. The pairings were perfect between the food and wine, from the appetizers to dessert. The menu is a perfect size with choices. The little unexpected things like the mushroom soup or the chocolate dipped in slated caramel were a delightful surprise. The staff were second to no one in their attention to care and service. 3 hours went by far too quickly. We promise we won't wait 11 years to come back."

The view, full moon, and mesmorizing harp player made for a perfect romantic evening. Highly recommend sitting out on the patio if it is nice outside as the view was amazing- also really cool that you could see the chef picking herbs and flowers for your meal."
