We tried an appetizer because the server insisted it was award winning, and it was very good. I would not have ordered it just reading the description, but we were glad we tried it. My husband got the Korean short rib, which was delicious (he let me try it before he inhaled every last bit of it). However, I ordered the seafood and was dissapointed. The menu's description sounded great, but the dish had no flavor, and it smelled fishy when it came (never a good sign). The dish was so over cooked I ate about half and then gave up. First time there, recommended by several friends. I had requested a quiet table for the occasion which they acknowledged when we came in an accommadated us as requested. I found the service to be excellent and very professional. The appetizers were outstanding ( Oysters with lobster and escargot) The entrees were also excellent. I had the lamb and my wife the Ahi Tuna. Both served to perfection. The prices are higher than other restaurants for the area but worth it to have such a nice evening. The guitar player kept the music just right not interfering with our conversation. Thermidor with fine flavors, including its wonderful sauce; Thick salmon filet (daily special) ordered "medium rare", was perfectly cooked. The pineapple-mango salsa with the salmon a bold, excellent fit. Vegetable sides -- beet, asparagus, whipped potato with a hint of horseradish, and risotto -- with a great mix of piquant flavors, making both the thermidor and salmon dishes wonderfully lively and satisfying. Caesar salad was very good, lettuce well prepared, excellent dressing probably made from scratch. Tapenades were delicious. Appealing desserts, delicious apple torte. I kept looking and tasting trying to find it and finally asked my husband his opinion. He agreed that it was rather fishy and bland, more like a soup. So when the waitress came and asked us how everything was, I told her the above. She was great and brought it back to the kitchen, bringing us extra rolls and tapenades in the meantime. When my main course was brought back, there was cream, capers and black pepper. It was better but still no evidence of cognac or gruyere. My husband was happy with his lamb and both appetizers were good as was dessert. The service was fantastic and not over-bearing despite being a small venue. The food was different and the specials complimented the already excellent menu. The presentation was well done and the taste over-the-top! My wife had the vegetarian choice and was extremely pleased. Very creative, incredibly delicious, original combinations. Only problem was choosing between so many tempting entrees. The braised short ribs are unlike any I've ever tasted. Mouth watering. My husband had a surf and turf combo which was a special. Large chunks of lobster on sirloin. The vegetables which completed our plates were beautiful in their colors and cooked to perfection.

The whole experience was amazing ... from how we felt welcomed and special, to how they accommodated my dairy free needs. In fact the chef made a special dessert for me while we were there so I would experience a gourmet dessert! My mother, who is 90 found the chair to be unbearably uncomfortable, but the waitress was kind in putting together a pile of cloth napkins to pad her seat.

We went to Sonoma for Mother's Day. Despite being very busy, the food continues to be outstanding with an updated menu. The sevice was excellent: friendly, attentive, and informed. And the classical guitarist topped off the usual quiet ambiance.
We plan to return with friends in the near future.

Went Monther's day and food-menu were top notch. The only criticism is that they needed more waitstaff. Was very busy, and though the entrees-salad-apps-drinks came out well timed..it took 45 minutes to get dessert as more people poured in. Our waitress was spectacular and knowledgable..she was just a little overwhelmed and need a person to help her (IE a second) or less tables. Other than that. This was a special birthday and the food was outstanding: the best swordfish I've ever had in my life (and I've eaten a LOT of swordfish). The service was wonderful -- once we got it. We were seated (by the hostess) for about ten - fifteen minutes before anyone came to acknowledge us. The error was explained and our new server was terrific and attentive (without hovering) for the rest of the evening.
We will be going back again. If you are looking for a culinary experience and don't mind heading out to Princeton Massachusetts, then this is a place you have to try out. The menu items are pricey.
