  • "It's a great place to bring a date. Romantic, and quiet."
    Dined on 4/13/2014
  • "Tucked away in the Santa Monica Mall, you'd never think to try a place in the MALL, but the outdoor rooftop is an excellent place to enjoy food and wine with the amazing Santa Monica breeze and sunset. The outdoors is where it's at here. Don't bother to go and sit indoors, the food is good, but you can find better if you're fixing to ignore the outdoors. Good and friendly service and staff."

  • "We had a very enjoyable experience at this restaurant. The service was truly outstanding and the food was very excellent as well."

  • "Staff, was nice and friendly. Always made an effort to come and check on us and making sure we also had our fill with drinks. Food came from the 2 for $70 menu made for living social. Wouldn't say I liked any of the items. The salad and soup was ok, nothing spectacular or anything different from what I could get at where else for a salad and soup. That was paired with decent wine choices. The pizza was the shared appetizer - very very greasy - and we could taste the brick oven charred taste. We only shared 1 slice. Entrees were good, but again the emphasis being that of a plain word choice to describe the entree. I wouldn't come back for the food. Dessert - same as soup and salad. It was a scoop of ice creme with brownies. Overall OK."

  • "Great menu and food, great scene, love the outdoor patio!"
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "Wonderful spot for cocktails or brunch. The best for people watching too! Energetic, vibrant and interesting menu. Beware... Parking us a challenge. Even though located on the top if a large mall, the parking lot is consistently full and valet parking had a 30 minute wait to park. Plan extra time but well worth the hassle."

  • "we had the tasting menu it was a great deal, and each plate is paired with wine or beer"
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "I really like this spot, but when I recently went with a friend for the first time in a while, it was way too loud. They have live music now, which they didn't before. Much better before. Enough noise with all the mall - goers, third street patrons, etc. Also that was my second time for dinner, and I would only go back for happy hour or to share small plates. The entrees are disappointing."

  • "Awesome food, dinner, wine and service. Especially recommend the Domestic and International Flights."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "The service can best be described as disorganized. The lack of ID badges or any identifier that they worked at the restaurant made finding the correct person difficult. Tables packed so tightly on the deck that staff could not pass through easily. Wait staff were not able to give an accurate description of the menu items and appeared distracted. They did not offer the champagne brunch option when we ordered an item from the brunch list."

  • "I would not recommend this restaurant. Good thing we used a Living Social Voucher. The voucher was for a food and wine pairning with no substitutes. We both ordered the NY steak which was on the menu and was served a Filet Mignon instead with no explanation and no wine. Each course was supposed to be served with wine. We had to ask our waitress for wine each time because the wine was never served with the food. Needless to say, this restaurant has horrible service and it's too bad because the food was good. I will not be returing to this restaurant ever again."

  • "Because of the heat lamps and a too hot fire pit I wanted to sit at a larger table. The hostess INSISTED we take a certain small table for two because "we are having a large crowd tonight". And she got quite nasty about it. My guest and I were there for two and a half hours. To put it nicely, the upper deck did not have any where a large group, let alone a large crowd. The three tables I asked for remained vacant all evening. I wanted to walk out but our waiter Martin did everything possible to make us happy. He insisted we would have a good evening and he made it so with service, extra wine for the birthday gentleman, pacing of the meal etc. He was so good that on the way out I didn't even slam into your rude hostess."

  • "Had a great time at this restaurant! The food was appropriately proportioned and the flavors were just right. It's a great place to relax and enjoy with friends or just that special someone. Would defiantly recommend to friends and to those looking for a nice place to eat and hang out!"

  • "It was our first time dining here so we were excited to try the brunch. The menu options were great and we loved what we chose (burger and smoked salmon bendict). I had the bottomless champagne and was pleased with all the options of "mimosas" there were to choose from. The elderflower was wonderful! The only downside was the service was a little sporadic. When we first sat down it took awhile to be greeted but then the server was all over us until we were about halfway through our meal. Then we rarely saw him again. We flagged down a busser to order another round. Other than that, it was a great experience!"

  • "We arrived early and were quickly seated at a very nice table. We had a Travelzoo coupon that gave us 4 courses with wine and beer. It was an amazing deal and the amount of food was substantial while the quality was excellent. We too half the pizza and one entire entree home. No complaints at all. Be ready to deal with parking in the very busy Santa Monica Place Shopping Center Parking Structure. That was the only difficult part of the evening."

  • "Food was not good at all, wine list was good. Ambiance could have been good, but there was an obnoxious, low class table talking about their sex lives near us. Nice fire pits and heat lamps for cool winter evenings. Would return for drinks, but would skip the food."
    Dined on 2/16/2014
  • "but you forgot all about the birthday. Anyway I can't complain too much. The french fries are better than any dessert. That should always be your first selection on the menu."

  • "This was our first time dining here. The place is on the 3rd floor of a mall, but has really great outdoor space with fireplaces and incredible decor for the wine enthusiast. Our waiter was very friendly, helpful, and recommended a Syrah that blew our minds. He also suggested their truffle fries which (although all restaurants seem to offer them these days) were superb. Best part of the meal. Both my wife and I ordered fish dishes which were sadly lacking in flavor or "wow factor" compared to the first part of our meal."

  • "Delicious food, gotta try their truffle fries. They're so good."

  • "We enjoyed a lovely meal on Friday night. The Truffle Fries and Pork Belly appetizers were my favorites. The staff was very engaging, efficient and the right amout of Fun."

  • "Great place for our birthday dinner. Luv the food, service will definitely return."

  • "It is a surprisingly nice place considering it sits in a mall. It has a great outside area which makes you almost forget you entered through the mall. The service was very good. We ordered cheese, but to our surprise the selection was limited to four from which one was not available. Although the cheeses were good, the portions were tiny for the price. I ordered prosciutto and that was a good portion. I Cannot talk about the rest of the menu but the cheeses were disappointing."

  • "We order wine , cheese and meats and pizza. Great to go and have a chat while eating appetizers. Not impressed with the pizza but it was OK. The ambient was very nice and specially with a nice night it is super nice to sit outside. Will totally go back."

  • "I would give the resturant five stars if they had better hostess. There were four people and I had to wait 2 minutes before someone even acknoledged me. They were just all talking. I had reservations and when they took me to my seating area, it was taken. They asked me to wait. I had to wait 30 minutes and when I wasn't seated, I asked if there was another seating area we could be seated to. There was no apology. Service was great, food was great and the atmosphere was awesome."

  • "We really enjoyed dining outdoors at Sonoma wine garden. We dined with kids and the restaurant accommodated us very well. The wine and beer selection was great, and the food we ordered was excellent. The inside was a little noisy and crowded but outdoors on the rooftop with firepits, heat lamps and outdoor lighting it was very nice."

  • "My girls and I meet here for brunch... The endless Mimosas were very tasty especially when I found out I could change the favor each refill. The price was average at $31 plus tax... We have decided to come back once a month as it is conveniently located at the end of the 3rd Street Promenade."

  • "We came in late for a 1:30 reservation, but the staff was happy to accommodate us and even extended the brunch a bit longer for our table. First time here, and we all had a great time. Erin made it a memorable experience."
    Dined on 12/15/2013
  • "I would recommend this place for wine and a comfy couch under the heat lamps and blankets. We had the pizza and the spinach artichoke dip. They were ok, nothing amazing. The ambience makes them a winner for outdoor drinks!"

  • "My friends and I love to brunch here, however the service was quite slow. Was extremely loud and difficult to get any attention from anybody! Food was good."
    Dined on 12/7/2013
  • "The food and atmosphere here are very California, a great place to hang out and have a cocktail and some tasty treats. It's a nice place for friends, couples, or even taking your older-age parents for a pleasant experience with good service."

  • "Sonoma Wine Garden was a great find. The food was good & the ambiance was lovely - it was a perfect setting for a relaxing meal. Our waiter started out really fantastic - he was attentive, suggested apps, entrees & wine pairings, and checked on us every few minutes to see how we were doing, which was appreciated. Once we ordered though, he disappeared. Some of our food was barely warm when it was brought out & we thought about sending it back, but because he didn't come by for almost 20 minutes it wasn't worth the hassle. We declined dessert & it took 25 minutes for the bill - this time, it wasn't because he disappeared, it was because he was spending more time with other tables that were ordering multiple drinks."

  • "Had a group of 5 and sat outside - beautiful day, staff was very friendly. Very fun experience. Only downsides: 1. Service wasn't the fastest, but it was 12:30pm on a Saturday, so that's to be expected. 2. They sat the 5 of us at a 4-top, which was a little hard to maneuver, but we figured it out."

  • "Each and every time the kitchen is slow and they get my order wrong or they run out of something I want on the menu. They usually make it up to me by bringing me an extra mimosa or something on the house, but the attention to detail is a bit ridiculous. Do better!"
    Dined on 6/22/2013
  • "Great food, it is the happening place to be! Great place to hang out with girl friends!"
    Dined on 11/2/2013
  • "I came here for my birthday brunch and it was just fantastic. Our server was great, our food was wonderful, and they kept our glasses full. I love that they have different types of mimosas to choose from. I wasn't expecting much from the food but all of our entrees were very good. Plus, the outdoor seating is wonderful for a brunch. We really had a wonderful time."
    Dined on 10/20/2013
  • "The food has gotten even better with the new chef. I go on Monday nights for his special Cajun prime rib, although the fact that they sell good bottles of wine at discount (about half normal price) does not hurt either. Of course, the view is great and being outside on the deck wonderful. Of course, the service continues to be wonderful, with a happy and genuine greeting for the hostess to the constant attention by the servers."

  • "We had dinner at the Sonoma Wine Garden on a Tuesday evening and sat on the outdoor patio. The evening was chilly but the fireplace provided adequate warmth. The service was slow but not annoyingly slow. The food was good but not exceptional. The rating of "good" (three stars) is appropriate for our experience. I doubt we would return since there are better choices in Santa Monica."
    Dined on 9/17/2013
  • "Predictably good food. The lamb dish I had was great. The salmon my wife had was outstanding. A bit crowded on the deck--the tables are too close together and the huge firepit in the middle is hard to get around; but all in all, very experience."
