Somerville Wine RoomGreat night!We love to try new places in Edmonton and were very impressed with our visit. The atmosphere is great, very warm and the tables aren't on top of one another. We stayed for hours even though the place was packed, nice to not feel rushed out the door. The Lamb shank was fantastic and a huge portion. My girlfriend had the bison and loved it.

Our food was just delicious, my bison was cooked to perfection and he raved about his pork tenderloin. We were the first ones there and ended up staying for hours, very comfortable room to linger in even when it's full. We tried several different glasses of wines with our food rather than a bottle, very enjoyable. The owner came by and chatted and brought us some lovely port with our dessert. Love the ambiance especially, I love a good looking room. My boyfriend is crazy for the bison, and claims it's the best steak in town. This time I had the pate and baked camembert in maple syrup with nuts, super delicious!! Came to celebrate a birthday and they made a real fuss. Complimentary bubbly, birthday cake. Our server was wonderful, very welcoming. We are big seafood fans and so we tried the scallop and shrimp, both were exceptional.
Our main dishes were brilliant. Delicious duck, nice and crispy on the outside. The casserole was so beautifully presented, like beef burgundy with a puff pastry lid. My friend is a gluten free with many allergies, Chef put together a lovely meal for her. Tables well spaced apart. I was especially happy to discover the chef from another wine bar downtown I have frequented is now here, his food is always amazing. The garlic white wine shrimp were succulent, as were the stuffed and breaded olives, very tasty. My Lamb was done to perfection and the portion was huge. They have a beautiful wine list, a large by the glass selection. We were impressed by our server's knowledge regarding the wine list, as she was able to successfully guide us in the right direction towards a beautiful bottle of wine. Both the lamb and the casserole were so delicious and beautifully presented. I just loved the puff pastry on the casserole. Also, the scallops are a must have!
