Our first time at Somers 202.
Started with the French onion soup and the butternut squash soup (a special). Both were very good. For entrees we had the flank steak (great sauce and truffle fries) and the shepherd's pie. Drinks and our son's kid's meal were also good. Nice ambiance and sat by the fireplace. Service was excellent and we will definitely return."

On a frosty night, food was very
hot & tasty. Service was wonderful. Would definitely go back again SOON."

Great server, food was excellent &
very nice atmosphere."

Food was pretty good, though
pricey. French dip sandwich had about 2 tablespoons of meat in the roll. $20 for a salad with a little salmon was too Expensive. Cheesecake dessert was bland. Also, our party of 4 barely fit at the small round table in the middle of the room. TVs by the fireplace just scrolled pictures of vacation spots? Why have TVs in the restaurant at all? Service was friendly but patchwork - waitress took orders for drinks and food, but guys from the kitchen delivered the food."

I took my daughter and her
boyfriend out for dinner. All of us thought the food was wonderful. Our waiter was terrific and the price was excellent. We would recommend this restaurant highly to our friends and will definitely be returning. The martinis are also great."

This was our first time at Somers
202 and we LOVED everything! From the Luxurious, comfortable, romantic Banquet Table sitting!! The service was first class and the food Delicious!! We started with the Mussels , which was so good we needed another basket of bread to dunk into the sauce. We each had a different entrée dish and we all loved every last bite!! Dessert once again really yummy French toast bread pudding and Trio cheesecake !! Yummy Yummy!! The after dinner drink was their very own home made Bailey's!! OH MY G_D Delicious !! The best !! WE can't wait to take other friends back to Somers202!!"

I requested a quiet dining spot so
six of us could chat and say goodbye to a good friend who is moving from the area. To our surprise and delight, we were set up in a private room. Just the perfect spot for our needs! The wait staff and owner were attentive and friendly. We enjoyed a relaxed and fun-filled evening. The suppers were all delicious. I look forward to returning to this wonderful restaurant and will certainly recommend it to others."

Somers 202 is awful. The food was
terrible, the service is immature and easily distracted (our waiter jumped from table to table before even finishing a sentence with us!), described the food incorrectly (e.g., I asked if the bread pudding was soft and custard-like, he said it was, it came out as tough, overcooked, greasy triangles of hard bread), our table was incredibly drafty and cold, I could go on...which is what you should do-- go on and find another restaurant. The area is severely lacking in quality restaurants which is why I was hopeful about this place. Our hopes were dashed as soon as we walked through the dumpy bar with a stale smell to get to the back seating area. It only got worse from there."

A well designed menu, with a
reasonable number of dishes, most of it American comfort food with a touch. A nice experiment on the calamari (Rhode Island), strong salads, great looking burgers, and a choice of pastas with traditional names/ingredients but careful preparation, well above average. Very good desserts as well and service was good and friendly, all you need for a great evening with kids. If you add reasonable prices, Somers 202 is a winner."

After a wonderful first experience
at Somers 202 I returned to dine again. The staff was extremely attentive. The food was delicious. In fact I had the best onion soup ever. The steak was cooked to perfection. The flourless chocolate cake was sinful."
Dined on 11/16/2013
We went to the restaurant to
celebrate my birthday with family. The martini list is great, the food was very good and the service was very attentive. I tried the cheesecake trio dessert (passed it around and never saw it again) and it was terrific. The Rhode Island Calamari was very unusual and excellent."

Since it was restaurant week and a
Friday night it was especially busy and loud but I know that during the week on a normal night it is a night calm relaxed atmosphere....but certainly not empty. Delicious food and menu was extensive for restuarant week selections. Greatly enjoyed booth seat; would return next time for a regular night not during their busiest time(special deals) The drinks are also great. Loved our personal friendly waiter!"

We enjoyed our first time visit
very much and will certainly go back. Food was very good and nice & hot. Manager was very supportive. Price for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week was well worth the dinner."
Dined on 11/7/2013
salad was great. the entrée left
something to desire. Chicken was cold and was served with instant mashed potato. could have stayed home. it was restaurant week and if you wanted to intice people to come back then maybe more attention to what is being served"

My husband and I went with our
friends for restaurant week! 3 courses for 29$ It was amazing Apps Entrees Desserts It was hard to decide what to get there were so many good choices! Our waitress was adorable! We had a great time and will be going back soon! The couple we were with has been to a bridal shower here and also Mother's Day brunch and they say they do a wonderful job!"

Restaurant week was the enticement
to try the 202 Grill, and it was a rewarding experience. Scott is the very amiable host, welcoming guests new and old as though they were family. From soup to dessert everything was fresh and delicous, properly seasoned with a nice presentation and generous portions. The only seafood that is served is wild caught. The wine list is easily navigated with fairly priced selections for most palates. Sunday to Wednesday we were told bottles of wine are half price. The disappointment was there were open tables. This place deserves to be full every night."

Service is excellent- just a very
nice neighborhood restaurant. Good wine recommendations from the waiter"

As first time customers of Somers
202 Restaurant, we were surprised at how great the food & service is there. My husband and I wanted to try someplace different to celebrate my birthday. We were greeted with a warm welcome at the door. Our waitress, Tara, was very sweet and efficient at her job. The food was excellent. Kudo's to the Chef! The wine was enjoyable. The atmosphere was comfortable. We felt relaxed and never rushed. We eat dinner out sometimes twice a week and Somers 202 Restaurant is now added to our list of "favorites"! Thank you for making my birthday dinner so special."
Dined on 10/24/2013
Great service and staff. We had
the BBQ ribs and Angus hanger steak with delicious truffle parmesan fries. For dessert we had Cheesecake and pumpkin mousse that was outstanding. Will definitely be back for other choices."

We were two couple and a baby in a
carriage, the host accommodated us right away. Our waiter came over and took our drink order, then came back with drinks, and proceeded to tell us the nights specials. The food was very good, from the appitizers to the dessert. Service was good and the staff was constantly walking around making sure the tables were cleaned and water glasses were filled. The ambiance was relaxing and prices were reasonable."

Best restaurant I have been to in
a long time- Service was fabulous- we were 9 celebrating a birthday and the staff came over to check on us every few minutes- Will definitely go back."

Very good food and nice
atmosphere. My family loves sitting in the high- backed booths."

The two sections to this
restaurant make it everything anyone would want. You can enjoy the energetic bar side or the quiet, special-night-out side. We love everything about this place. The food is amazing without being pricy. No one in my family drinks wine so I could not honestly check off the "notable wine list" part of this survey. It may very well have a great wine list, but I don't know. However, I can tell you firsthand that if you like sangria, they make the best homemade sangria I have ever tasted, and their Red Sangria Martini is to die for if you like a great cocktail that leans on the sweet side. Can't wait to go back."

Last night my husband and tried
202 after some family suggestions and good open table reviews. Great signature cocktails, really good food, great desserts, very energetic bar scene. A little loud in the dining area, will definitely return. I think this will become our new favorite spot. Fair pricing, friendly staff, good food, and relaxed ambiance all add up to a great find."
Dined on 6/28/2013
Was very disappointed - I have
been here before and it seems to be heading downhill. There is one manager in particular hat should not be in the service business. If asked is the AC on? you can explain "No it is broken" rather than say it is on when you know it isnt."
Dined on 6/27/2013
I have been to Somers 202 before
and remembered the food being better. This time, it was nothing special. Some meals came out cold, some were hot. Overall, it was a disappointment."
Dined on 6/17/2013
This was a good surprise....to
find a place close to home with really good food and lovely, friendly service. The scallop appetizer special was delicious, not overcooked and not over salted. The red snapper special, too, was prepared beautifully and inventively. Great summer cocktail menu, too.It was our first time, but not our last to this homey place with really nice food!"
Dined on 6/1/2013
The food was good, the service
attentive. However, made a reservation for 2:30 but was told upon arrival that the restaurant did not open until 3pm. Sat in the bar area with 5 or 6 large screen TVs , could be fun on a "game" night. Had a choice of tables as we were the only patrons. I started with the cerviche, which was fresh and nicely lemony and had the Farrotto, an ancient grains rissotto dish as a main course, not outstanding, but good as expected. I think both the Chef and I had a different out come for that dish in mind. My companion has the Chilean Sea Bass, it was cooked properly, was succulent and nicely seasoned. I would try Somers 202 again, they have a good selection of dishes some slightly creative some casual bar fare."
Dined on 5/26/2013
Nice neighborhood place - food was
very good even though service took a little too ong to arrive at out table than we would have liked"
Dined on 5/12/2013
The service was very accommodating
- we had a large group which needed a larger table that they were happy to switch us to. However, at least twice, items were dropped near us such as a bottle of olive oil that nearly splashed on several coats. The food was either excellent or poor depending on who at the table was asked. I had the linguini with calamari, and the calamari was overcooked and bland while the pasta and sauce were nothing special. My mother had the chicken scallopini and said it was excellent and cleaned her plate. Overall, the evening was all right but nothing special to make me interested in returning."
Dined on 4/12/2013
We enjoyed our evening at 202. The
menu had everything to offer from burgers to steaks. The owner came over to our table to see how things were doing and the place was hopping. However, there were a few kinks in our evening. It took a while to get our drink order in. I asked for a second glass of wine after my appetizer and didn't received it until I had just a few bites left of my entree. The hanger steak and fries was delicious but the steak was ice cold while the fries were nice and hot. Everyone else ordered the salmon, which they liked, but again, the salmon was nice an hot but the potatoes were ice cold. They didn't rush us out (which was nice) but maybe that was because the staff didn't notice us just sitting."
Dined on 4/12/2013
Staff was very accommodating, good
food and close to home...."
Dined on 4/5/2013
Food was good, ambiance was
rustic. Good place to go for dinner. Restaurant is located in an older building, everytime the service staff walked by our table, the entire floor shook, which became a bit annoying throughout dinner."
Dined on 3/29/2013
We were a party of 6. Celebrating
my birthday and moms night out. Something we do once a month and for each of our birthdays. We wanted a place that had atmosphere but not too much where we couldnt enjoy good conversation without having to scream over noise. A chic lounge style with high back arm chairs and booths made for more private intimate gatherings.our seating was accommodated as we requested. Food was delicious, staff were great, service excellent -couldnt have asked for more. Would definitely reccomend and go back again!"
Dined on 3/22/2013
The food is creative and delicious
- and I love that you can be casually dressed if you want. The service is great - very friendly and attentive. A few things that need mentioning - depending upon where you are seated in the dining room, you can feel the cold draft every time the door opens. And the noise from the bar can be loud, especially on trivia night - fine for me, but that good be off-putting for some. But since the food and service are SO good, I can overlook the other things. I'll just make sure to ask to be seated away from the draft on future visits."
