We are so impressed! The food is inventive and fresh, the sushi chefs are exemplary (sit and watch them work their magic for a while, you won't be disappointed) and Chef Gabe (executive kitchen chef) has a real talent for infusing his love of Texas cuisine into more traditional Japanese dishes. The service is flawless and the ambiance is hip and upscale. Try "Omakasi". It means that you give the chefs the freedom to choose your dinner for you (and yes, you can tell them what you just don't like!) On the menu, try the hamachi with fois gras, and the black cod- both are awesome. Great sake selection, too! The service was a bit slow and the waiter forgot a couple of things. I felt like he should have comped them (like he brought my drink with the bill even though I had ordered it 15 min before). Their cheesecake is now my favorite dessert. Kind of like a deconstructed cheesecake with light, creamy, lemony squares of cheesecake; super light rectangles of meringue; sitting on a bed of housemade granola; with spots of some type of sauce that I can't remember the name of.
