  • "The hubby and I used to live in Park Hill, so Solera was about the only nice dining option in the area. We moved to southeast Denver, but decided to revisit after several years away. What a delightful surprise! We started with mussels that had a dash of preserved lemon. The entrees were delish: lamb t-bones for most; paella for me. Hubby and I traded tastes. His lamb was succulent and perfectly cooked. My paella was loaded with mussels, clams, scallops and one gi-normous shrimp. My dad got the winning dessert with banana caramel bread pudding."

  • "Was skeptical when one of the guys suggested our group go there to dinner - we usually hit more downscale places like Vine Street or Bastiens, but it worked out great. The food, as expected, was excellent, and they had a small but high quality set of beers on draft. Most importantly our server did a great job putting up with our ruckus and generally boisterous behavior. Not just a place for an upscale yet casual date, but surprisingly fun for groups!"

The servers, even on a Tuesday evening, were a bit overworked however and there was no bussing help. So getting another glass of wine or extra bread and the like took longer than expected, which was the only drawback."

  • "Absolutely delicious food. Exciting menu. Portion size is perfect (unlike most Denver restaurants that charge the more for half the food) Great wine at a reasonable price. Awesome patio with a great atmosphere. Laid back. Just a really overall wonderful dining experience. Our favorite place for dinner in the city, hands down, and we've eaten everywhere. Highly recommended to anyone that appreciates really good food!"

  • "The atmosphere was terrific. The server was friendly, helpful and amazing. The patio was full of charm. We had an assortment of Tapas. The tomato toast & serrano and the lox flatbread were very good but the Spanish Albondigas was a bit greasy and lacking. None the less the overall experience was excellent."

  • "Great food and the waiter was very attentive but then it was a quiet night there. We sat inside and we were the only ones inside. I got the reminder of the 1,000 points from opentable that same day we went to Solera and tried to change my booking from 6 p.m to 5:30 so I could get the extra points and when doing so on opentable it said it wasn't available. We got there about 5:45 and we were the first ones in the restaurant and so no one was booked at the 5:30 slot. Not happy with opentable on this."

  • "The mac and cheese (with shaved white truffle and seared scallops) is no longer on the menu but they make it if you request it, happily. It's one of the best dishes in Denver and this version didn't disappoint. Scallops had no grit at all. We took clients and all of the food looked good, save the bread pudding for dessert, which was slightly dry (usually fantastic). Ordered a large calamari for the table...best in Denver, as well. The patio is beautiful. It was slightly hot out. A circulating fan(s) out there would help a little. Service was wonderful. Just chatty enough and just available enough. Never felt rushed. Wine was perfectly picked by the waitress and as described. Overall, a very good meal."

  • "Having grown up in Europe I could not believe my luck when I entered Solera on Colfax. It was like being transported into some Mediterranean village. The waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable explaining the menu and recommending a Spanish wine for our entree. And the food was the best meal ( I had the lamb my husband the steak) I had in Denver - and we live here for 18 years! Start with the create your own appetizer platter and end with one of their delicious and well priced desserts! I have never written a restaurant review but felt like I had to share it!"

  • "The food was outstanding. We began w/ Calamari and it was fabulous. Notice that almost every table was beginning with Calamari! I had Duck Confit, at the waiter's suggestion, and it was tender, tasty and accompanied by a wonderful green salad w/ nuts, fingerlings, radishes, goat cheese. My guest had the Halibut and she could not stop raving about the sauce! We ended with desserts of Rhubarb/Strawberry Crisp and the Olive Oil Cake - Yummmmmmm."

  • "Exceptional staff...made my day. Due to food preferences and allergies unable to eat much on menu. Server said the kitchen could do anything on the menu so they combined my favorite salad with chicken for a delightful meal. The proportions were perfect, the plate beautiful but better yet the flavors combined were amazing for my picky palate. My companion totally enjoyed her steak...drinks were past pefection as we had a handmade sangria and a dirty martini."

  • "It was a slow Thursday night, so a bit hard to judge noise level. We were seated on the patio, at the fence next to Colfax, so there was a lot of car street noise, but that might have been different with more diners. Overall, service was very good, as was the food. A few things were seasoned with too much salt, but that is a subjective opinion. I would definitely recommend Solera to friends."

  • "I haven't been to Solera for a while. I'm not sure why, because it is great. The patio is lovely - you would never guess it is located on Colfax - I felt like I was in Italy. And the food was great. Highlights were a fabulous kale salad, cod fritters, and a chocolate banana bread pudding. They also have all you can eat mussels on Tuesday. We didn't get that because we wanted to try some other things, but we will go back for it!"

  • "I've been to Solera for brunch a few times now, and it is amazing!! The food and drinks, the bartender, the servers, the ambience is absolutely wonderful. I took a client there for brunch recently, and they were blown away by the food and friendly staff. While inconspicuous from the outside, it is a treasure of ambience inside. The outdoor patio is hidden from street view, and is decorated with charm and natural tree shade. I can't wait to go back! "

  • "Food was outstanding. I had scallops, my companion had mussels. Both were tasty and well executed. It was date night and service was slow. Not inefficient, just slow. Not sure why - everyone seemed busy, maybe understaffed. It's a small restaurant, so some forgiveness there. The biggest issue with this restaurant is noise. At first I thought it was due to a group in the corner, but even after they left the room was still noisy. My companion and I ended up being the last ones there and until it was down to 3 or 4 tables it was hard to have a conversation. The owners would be wise to install some wall coverings or acoustic tile to cut down on the noise...it really detracts from the experience."

  • "Have been to this restaurant many times, the food is always great but the wait staff gets worse each visit. Restaurant wasn't very busy & yet our server never came to the table to refill out water glasses. It was all you could eat mussels & the server never came by to check if another bowl was needed, we would have to stop her & ask for another bowl & refill the bread basket. Although the temperature was in the 40's, the manager felt the need to keep opening the patio doors although several patrons were asking for them to be kept closed. Not only did our food get cold but coats were needed to be comfortable in the dining room area. "

  • "I have been to Solera many times, but mostly for dinner and drinks. I have always been very happy with those visits, and felt that the ambiance was great, the food spectacular, their wine list sufficient, and their service always great. We went there for Mother's Day brunch, and in the light of day, the interior looks shabbier than I recall- I think they are going too heavy on the rustic touches, and it is just starting to look dumpy. The food was OK. I had Serrano Ham Eggs Benedict. There was not a lot of flavor to the dish, and the sage infused Hollandaise sauce was quite mediocre with no distinct flavor. The side dish with the Benedict was a meh arugula salad- the dish looked emaciated and lifeless."

  • "I haven't been to Solera for a real dinner in a few years. They have such a great happy hour that we usually just sit at the bar. I went with several friends for a late dinner and the food was as good as I remembered. The service from our waiter Tim was fantastic. My only comment would be that when we walked in right on time for our reservation we were greeted a little surly from Goose who was working the front of the house that night. Maybe I took it the wrong way but that was my only slight negative of the whole night. The food is still amazing and it is a gem that doesn't get enough props."
