A word from Sole Mio
With over 18 years of award winning dining, Sole Mio continues it's tradition of authentic Italian in downtown Nashville including being crowned Taste of Nashville's Best Italian 2010!

Sole Mio started on the beaches of the Adriatic Sea over 25 years ago. Owner GianCarlo Agnoletti first opened in his hometown near Rimini, Italy. He began a passion for wonderfully fresh Northern Italian food and is pleased to share it with you here in Nashville, specializing in handmade pastas and homemade sauces and desserts.

Chef Jeff Brown has made his mark now with his signature Lobster Ravioli, Veal Involtini and daily fresh catch and don’t forget to save room for our Homemade Tiramisu!

Finish that off with the homemade cheesecake (and this appeared and tasted like REAL cheesecake!) and you have an excellent dining experience."

  • "I've eaten at Sole Mio for years (followed you to the new location). Always ordered fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp except last time. I got the clam/sausage spaghetti. It was a mistake. The sausage covered up the subtle clams, was too salty, and dry without enough sauce. The mussels before and spumoni after were great but I will NEVER vary from my usual fare again if I come back. Disappointing. At those prices?"

  • "Went for our anniversary, Friday at 7pm. Fresh warm bread when you sit down, great. Bruschetta appetizer was huge and really good. We had the filet and the pork chop. Both had great flavor, were cooked perfectly, and came out hot. Not much in the way of vegetables/sides with your entree...they were more for flavor and visual interest than actual "sides". I don't think there was any background music. Place was crowded though, with lots of lively conversation. I wouldn't say there was a lot of "ambiance"...maybe more on a quiet weeknight. Restaurant is mostly one large dining room, front wall is all windows looking out on street/outdoor seating. Server was nothing to write home about. App + 2 entrees + water to drink + tax = $70"

  • "We meet friends for dinner on August 16. The guys raved about the gnocchi and me and my girlfriend were just as pleased with a salmon entree and pasta entree. The waiter was very personable, helpful and attentive. We were on a tight time frame and he took care of us without making us feel rushed. I even had a Groupon to use and we didn't get the cool shoulder you can sometimes get when a waiter or waitress thinks they won't get tipped as much. We asked a favor from the manager and he was very nice and accommodating too! The only thing that I can think of that wasn't positive.....I think the bottles of wine are a little on the pricey side. We've eaten at Sole Mio several times and it remains consistent with great food and service!"

  • "We booked reservations the day of through the Marriott Renassiance. We had a party of 9 girls for a bachelorette party. We heard great things about the food. Once we got there, we didn't wait long to be helped. The server was very nice although not extremely attentive. Our food came out very quickly and was tasty! However, we were placed in one of two rooms and were the only party in that room. Additionally, there wasn't any music or background noise so it was very quiet when we were all eating. I thought the prices were a bit high as well for the food/service we received."

  • "Simply the best place to dine prior to the Nashville 4th of July fireworks show. You get vallet parking at a quaint Italian restaurant that is well decorated with good food and great service. You can eat on the porch and watch the fireworks from your table while eating desert and leave in time to miss the traffic bog as you are just a few blocks from the interstate. It is our families yearly tradition which will continue for years to come."

  • "Actually chose Sole Mio because we could valet park at the restaurant, have dinner, then take in the fireworks and downtown activities and return to the restaurant to retrieve our vehicle afterward. Third Avenue location very convenient to Broadway and Market St. The four of us enjoyed the bruchetta and calamari appetizers before our main courses. Like Sole Mio's idea for choosing either their listed main courses, or pairing your choice of pasta, sauce and meat accompaniment. The wine list is not overly extensive, and the least expensive glass is $9. The delicious chocolate cake dessert ($9) was sufficient to sate the sugar crave for the four of us. James did a knowledgeable job of serving us without us without being intrusive."

  • "Not sure why they left their last location, with a beautiful view overlooking the city--I'm aware I don't know the details behind that so I can't hold that against them :). I am someone who really doesn't mind paying top dollar (on occasion) for great food. However, my pet peeve is expensive food for the sake of being expensive. Bottom line is, the food was OK but not worth the price. Server meant well but was simply not very attentive. We might go back, but not before trying others restaurants for a while."

Family owned and authentic, I was concerned that this downtown Italian staple might be overshadowed by all the newcomers on the block, especially since the newcomers are good in their own right. I was not disappointed! This is a restaurant for the unhurried. Hand prepared and made to order, this Nashville Icon still holds it's own. To truly enjoy your dining experience, allow 1 1/2 to 2 hours to truly enjoy. (The shareable bruschetta this time was insanely delicious and we left room for the most decadent white chocolate cheesecake made by man)"

Service was slow and impersonal, the calamari appetizer was tasteless and dry, the Caesar salad was horrid, and the pasta sauces were unappealing and drowned the fresh pasta. Wait - I do remember 2 good things- the bread was delicious and the pasta was obviously freshly made. But don't bother to go just for that."

  • "I had the lobster Ravioli and the pasta was chewy and the contents were warm not hot. I assume that had they been cooked a little longer they would have been great. The other entree was linguini and again the pasta was undercooked. The waiter was very pleasant."

  • "First time visiting Sole Mio with my family. Took our waiter's recommendations for appetizers and entree. Bruschetta had a marvelous flavor and the calamari is some of the best I've had. Fresh pasta made in house was fantastic. I had the lobster ravioli- outstanding. My wife had the lasagna- superb! Anthony our waiter made an outstanding wine recommendation that paired well with both. Deserts are also made in-house and were to die for! Highly recommend this Resturant!"

They let us stay in their parking lot, so we didn't have the hassle of finding another spot to go to the show. It is very near the Honky Tonks, just a short walk to everything. Loved it."

I specifically asked if the linguine portion was a lot and the server responded with a resounding YES. Upon arrival...it was such a very small serving, that I had to rotate two-three strands around the fork and eat slowly to "make it last". I have a pet peeve when it comes to pasta servings---really, how much does it cost to serve more past? Thank goodness I had a Groupon or it would have made me very upset."

  • "Total disappointment. Pictures looked good, menu okay, expensive for Italian. But... Had no idea what veal saltimbocca is nor did they know how to make meatballs or arrabiata sauce. The first, came with chicken not veal, chopped up veggies on top, little to no sage or prosciutto. Meatballs were dry to be I edible. Sauce was all red pepper and when told to the waiter, he shrugged and walked away. Tiramisu was dried out, cannolis tough and dry. Wine average. And a bill for almost 275. Horror show."
