We had just spent several days in Yosemite National Park and were looking for good and traditional Italian fare and this restaurant did not disappoint. We had a great time with really good food and an attentive server. Friendly, charming, helpful, whatever you want for a service, they gave it to us.
I had not been at this place for over 20 years, the décor has changed, I liked it better before, but the food was just as delicious as ever.
Had a big parking problem, all places were gone ( lunch 1PM), spent 20 minutes to find parking. The lot further up the street had a parking box, the glass under which the instructions were was so dull that we could not read them. Machine did not accept dollar bills, did not accept coins, we were finally 5 people trying to run this machine, and eventually we were able to do so.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMemories of food and familyWent to Bertoluccis with my cousins. We appreciate the "old, Italian family " style atmosphere, pleasant music not too loud for conversation, historic significance, and of course really good food. We are all looking forward to our next visit. Very good preparation and presentation. I took my parents and my family for my father's birthday. My parents and I ordered their Rabbit and Polenta, which is on the regular menu. Really a tremendous dish. I would say perfect. I'm still craving it as it reminded my of my grandmother's preparation only slightly better. Like I said, perfect.
My only downside was the bottle of 2007 Jordan Cabernet on the menu was delivered as 2008. When I asked the waiter, he gave me a dumb stare and just opened the bottle. It's one of my pet peeves. If you are pouring something differnent than what's on the menu, you should at least acknowledge that it's not as advertised.
