  • "since we went to Bertolucci's, we have dined at 3 other places, had different types of Italian food. Bertolucci's is the best!!! We enjoyed everything. The calamari was awesomely plenty. In fact, portions here are the best for your money. If people complain about Bertolucci's, they are just people that you cannot satisfy. We eat out a lot and by gosh. This is for sure the best yet. Better than New Joe's, Better than any local eatery around for the money. Great place. Thank you for the service. Only thing was, I guess they do not honor birthday's????"

  • "Service was very good. Wine list was adequate but could be improved. Three of the four of us had the veal special which as Osso Bucco. It was served with soft polenta and was outstanding. All and all it was very good."

  • "Enjoyed lunch with a friend recently and service perfect and food all delicious.... Had the Salmon salad...fresh greens/lite dressing and big piece of fish. Corkage fee so reasonable...only $15 a bottle. Great lunchtime prices....will be back again soon!"

  • "A long established restaurant. I haven't been here for years & it was worth it. Had the special ousso bucco...delciious served with fresh vegetables & delicious risotto & I don't like risotto. Perfect dinner, & worth it all. Thank you for still being in business. Always go to Westlake Joe's for comfort food & close to home, but since it has been closed since Januar 2014, Bertolucci's is my new place."

  • "The polenta was the best I've ever had. Seemed to contain fresh corn kernels & was delicious. The complementary pizza was very nice. The salad was delicious, minestrone ok, veal scalloppine very good (but lacked salt), saltimbocca too salty & the steak was very thin and the texture as if it had had tenderizer on it, and french fries greasy. The vegetables were fresh, but under-cooked. Most disappointing was the cannelloni, which we remembered from years ago. The pasta used to be very tender, the filling delicate & delicious, and it used to be covered in a delicious bechamel sauce. Now, pasta was not tender, filling tasted watery, as if it had been frozen, and it was now covered with stringy melted cheese...an unfortunate choice."

  • "Great food. This was our fifth time here. Love the polenta that comes with each dish. Vegetables are cooked just right so little crunch to them. I Like that they give you both warm bread and golden boy pizza. Minestrone soup is one of the best I've had. We've had veal, steak and fish dishes which have all been great. Enjoy eating front dining room. Back one a little dark and loud."

  • "I would always ask for table in corner booth or near.never order osso bucco! Noise level in rear of main room almost could not speak !!! Good piano bar!"

  • "Everything was very nice as usual for dinner on Saturday. Food very good and fresh, service nicely done. I had mentioned before that I was not sure if the water on the table was working well but in fact this time when I simply served myself when I wanted water - it was perfect!"

  • "I've lived on the peninsula my entire life and this was my first visit to Bertolucci's. It's a solid Italian American joint reminiscent of Westlake Joe's. Everyone at my table ordered different veal dishes (Parmesan, Milanese, Marsala) and we all cleaned our plates. Service is what you would expect in a neighborhood spot...mixture of kids and full time employees. The wine list is ok. Arrive early and hang out at the bar...its worth it to take in the scene."

  • "Peter and Vicki Sodini turned this tired but great restaurant into nothing short of outstanding. The only problem I have is deciding what to order. The salmon salad, sea bass, eggplant parmesan, chicken parmesan, gnocchi, pizza ... they are all incredible. By far my favorite restaurant."

  • "I loved this old-timey Italian restaurant! I made me nostalgic. The service was excellent. We were seated immediately. My eggplant was delicious, albeit VERY cheesy (the waitress let me know that it would be cheesy when I ordered). We loved the bread. We were waiting for our son's flight, which was very late...they didn't hurry us at all. It was super-convenient and close to SFO. I'll go the next time I have time before or after a flight."

  • "This is our 2nd time here and would come again. Nostalgic feel that old timers like. Service wasn't over the top and had to ask for more water.Portions were good. We had the cannelloni, sole and veal parmigiana. The sole was better than the veal. The polenta was just way too heavy and rich for us so we didn't finish it, would have preferred double portion of veggies. The raspberry panna cotta dessert was very good though. The house wine was exceptional that night 2011 raven wood chardonnay. Definitely make reservations for the weekend."

  • "The food was inedible. White Clam sauce laden with cream, mushy reheated pasta, overly sweetened tomato sauce on a dried out chicken Parmesan. We ate nothing. Place was creepy, food yuck"

  • "The polenta is to die for, as was my osso buco....yum! It was very noisy the night we were there, but maybe because there were a couple of large groups there. I couldn't hear what the other members of my table were saying, and we were in a booth. My parents really enjoyed their veal parm and fillet of sole, both cooked perfectly. Definitely a repeater. "

  • "Service and food were enjoyable. We were able to get a reservation easily on a Friday night. Service did taper off toward the end of the meal as we weren't offered refills on our beverages and it took awhile to get the check. Overall was a positive experience and we would return."

  • "We made a special request when placing our reservation for a birthday celebration dinner. When we checked in, the request had been honored. We had to wait over 15 minutes for our guests to arrive (apparently not all smart phone apps can navigate here); our waiter took it in stride. The wine list is limited, but it does have some gems quite fairly priced. On request they will serve warmed sourdough with chopped garlic in olive oil. The Peppercorn Steak (New York with peppercorn sauce) was perfectly cooked and well trimmed. The spaghetti is consistently good. Our guests had salmon and petrale sole and said they were very good. This was the first time that the birthday celebrant was not treated to a complimentary dessert, which was a surprise."

  • "This place is awesome! The food has been consistently great since I can remember. The main room is perfect for a romantic dinner. There is a side banquet room for bigger loud groups or if you have small kids. We switch between both, depending on how loud our little ones are going to be. LoL. "

  • "For me, this is one of my 'go to' places. All the times I have been here, I have never had a bad meal. Or bad service. The food is made to order and they will deviate from the menu if you describe how you want something prepared.. I love my ravs in garlic, olive oil, mushrooms, a little basil and they do it here. Very well, by the way. Everything is fresh fresh fresh!!! And the Manhattan....enough already. Have to go back!! PS The owner is an absolute sweetheart, too!"

  • "Sodini's took over Bertalucci's about ten years ago. The old place needed a pick-me-up and Peter did the trick. From the beginning, Sodini's was a winner and continues to produce great food, friendly bar atmosphere and a staff that is responsive to each guests needs. "

  • "Soldini's Bertolucci's has fantastic traditional Italian food and "old school" decor. It has a warm, friendly feel. The food, especially the pizza is fantastic. If you're looking for well-made Italian classics, this place is head and shoulders above the chain alternatives."

  • "We had a lovely Cesar Salad which we split. He had his favorite the Cannelloni, and I had the Lasagna. The waiter was extremely young and extremely nice and attentive. The bread was as always fresh home-made with the best tomato sauce....you could not ask for anything more, and or better. The overall restaurant was very clean and filled with lovely people enjoying an evening out. Thank you for the experience. Was delightful. "

  • "Great old school Italian food, ambience and service. Three of us had a reservation for 7:30 on a Friday and they seated us right away. Waiter was efficient and helpful. Too few of these kind of restaurants left - a real gem."
