Diner Reviews
  • "The service and accommodations for my group size was a 10 out of 10. We enjoyed the music while it was playing but as soon as we finished our meal still early in the evening there was no music so we left. Everyone else seemed pleased with their food. I took a chance on the sushi. The California roll was perfect. The shrimp tempura roll however not good. Had a very fishy taste, not usual for that roll. I order that roll frequently everywhere that serves it. Not only did it taste much too fishy but also left me with an upset stomach for the night. Does make you wonder if the fish and seafood is being stored properly at proper tempuature. I recommend the location and business but not the shrimp tempura roll."

  • "The food was mediocre at best. Essentially a bar food menu, but the prices were comparable to high end atlanta restaurants. If you want to go to a bar for after work drinks this is probably a great place. If you want to go to dinner pick one of the other excellent choices in vinings. I've been here for lunch as well, and the lunch menu is quite respectable. They just haven't figured out how to do a dinner entrée."

  • "I always recommend Social to friends. The food is fantastic and diverse, the drinks are great, there is always a fun crowd, the service is good and it is a casual fun environment."

  • "There is an innovative drink menu with lots of infused liquors and unusual pairings. All of us enjoyed our food and would go back. Our waiter was hilarious and the music was great. Wish the valets were more attentive and quicker about getting our cars."

  • "They do not have a Gluten Free menu, but are enthused to modify and rec items. Butternut risotto was perfect!"

  • "This restaurant fits all occasions. Food is wonderful with large menu but best part aside from great food which is why you go there is the mixed ambience? Perfect for casual hang out or dining with friends or out on a special date! I highly recommend for all the above occasions plus more thT I can't think of at the moment!"

  • "It doesn't matter if you sit in the restaurant, bar or outside on a nice day, this is a go to spot for a good variety of food and drinks and if you are alone or in a group there are various seating options. Love the music and bar, brunch is fantastic,"

  • "We had never heard of this place, but a friend suggested that we meet there for brunch. This all you can get place also has sushi. The omelets are the best we have ever had. I would absolutely go back there. By the way, it was no too crowded for Sunday brunch and takes reservations."

  • "Just be careful walking in the bar area.....just this last time I slipped and fell on some very small water spots on the floor. And when we were leaving after dinner I saw even more water spots all over the floor."

  • "The menu has lots of choices but was very unhappy with the quality. The server was great! Too many kids though."

  • "Everything was great. My only complaint would have been that I ordered a side salad along with an entree and the salad came out along with my entree."

  • "My wife and I took a friend who was in town for a casual dinner at Social Vinings. We shared three sandwiches: the lobster club; the crab cake sandwich; and the burger. All three were delicious. The ladies really liked the margaritas and I had a bourbon made especially for the restaurant that was really good. We have just moved to the area and this will be one of our regular Friday night wind-down spots."

  • "We had the best experience last night.. Six adults and four young children descended on Social Vinings to celebrate a birthday. We were given a private room, a real win for a family with kids, and our own waiter,Nick. The food was great, the service spectacular, and we all had a great time."

  • "This is a low-key place to dine. The food is well prepared. The menu is comprehensive without being too exhaustive. The staff are cordial...and laid-back. There is a bar area as well."

  • "In general my wife and I had a nice Valentine's dinner (the night after Valentine's). There was a good vibe, the food was pretty good (especially a sushi roll we had as an "appetizer"), and the staff was friendly. But our table was so close to the couples on each side of us, it was almost as if we were sitting together. We had to concentrate not to eavesdrop on their conversation, and we felt a little inhibited to make sure those couples didn't hear our conversation. The other thing was the price of our meal. I had the delicious blackened mahi tacos, which was a sizeable portion for $10. My wife had the special, which was 3 scallops wrapped in bacon and some shrip risotto, and it was $34!!!!!! IF we go back, we will stick to sushi."

  • "Social vinings is amazing. Some of the best sushi I have ever had anywhere. The rest of the menu is very interesting, some very unique choices. I also LOVED the calamari. Cooked to perfection with fried peppers and etc. 2 sauces that were mind blowing. The crab meat flatbed was also incredible. I didn't get a chance to try the main entrées or the sandwiches, but I will be going back for both. It can be a little pricey as far as the main course goes, but sandwiches, appetizers and sushi are all relatively good priced. I am a new fan."

  • "I should know better by now than to dine out on Valentines Day. Still, my rather low expectations were not met at Social Vinings. Arrived early for reservation. Overwhelmed hostess told me that I would just have to check back periodically to see if our table was ready. Cheery, helpful servers behind the bar were the only bright spot. Flatbread seemed undercooked -- or maybe they meant for crust to be soft -- sort of like dough out of a can. Ravioli was perhaps the worst I have ever had -- bland and mushy. Sure it must have been served straight out of a chafing dish. Service at the table bordered on non-existent."

  • "Food was good, but a bit salty. And prices were very expensive for what the restaurant is. We spent as much as we would at other restaurants that we believe are much better. Had the prices been more in line with the food, I think our experience would have been better."

  • "First time there it was a great place wonderful food Excellent service; we were allowed via request to decide on our entree after we ordered and ate our appetizer and we had a leisure 2.5 hr meal and did not feel rush"

  • "I really enjoyed myself. In a city where every venue requires that you invest at least $200 on New Year's eve it was nice to go somewhere you could have a nice dinner and music without a huge financial committment. Don't get me wrong, we had a nice expensive dinner, but there was no up-front investment required to attend. Great spot!"

  • "A group of friends and I dined at Social Vinings on New Years Eve. It was my mine and my husband's first time. We were blown away with how delicious the food was. We shared the smoked Gouda macfritters for an appetizer and had tastes of the calamari and lobster flatbread from our friends, which were also excellent. For dinner, I ordered the blackened mahi mahi. It was unbelievable, and the risotto was outstanding. We will definitely be back!"

  • "We had never been to this restaurant. We own a restaurant in the area and our customers would tell us how good Sociila Vinings is. My wife and I and another couple decided to try it. Great food, drinks, and service. The only think was drinks were a little slow coming from the bar to the table--But don't let that stop you from coming. We will return. Our party of 6 sat and enjoyed our food and drinks. We never felt rushed to turn the table. Everyone enjoyed their dishes."

  • "I just moved to Atlanta, and stayed with some friends. I heard that they loved this place, "Social Vinings". I took them there to thank them for openning their home to me, as though it were mine. Now I have something else to thank them for. I heard this was one of their favorite restaurants. They get the same thing each time, but are cheating themselves. They had the Crab cakes and one had pizza because she is vegetarian. No matter. I had a Chilean Sea Bass that was delectable, down to the butter wine sauce. I almost licked the plate. lol It is a great place. My martini was perfect, as was the atmosphere. Definitely a nice place for a date or a regular to just relax and enjoy."

  • "Our meal was divine and completely devoured by all. Ambience was great. Service was spot on. Only down side is parking in garage is confusing. More signage would be nice. We will return."

  • "My husband had a very hard time hearing as we were seated in the middle of the crowded dining room. We had requested via Open Table and by a follow-up phone call to sit in their private dining area. I understand that that wish could not be accommodated because they had a group of ten who came in earlier. But I had told them it was my birthday and a family dinner to celebrate. I would have thought they could have given us a corner table. Perhaps when I said it was family, they assumed small children, ours are 30,29 and 28. So all were well behaved and ordering grown up meals and adult beverages. Our waiter was nice but not particularly attentive. We had considered booking there for New Year's as we did last year, but will not."

  • "All of the talk about this place missed the obvious: the food is bland. the musician played as if he was in concert and we were there to hear him."
