The wine list was expensive for the type of venue and the pizza was horrible - really bland. The service was pretty slow and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. Don't waste your time here - too many better restaurants to enjoy in the area.

Went here for lunch while in the area. Within a new hotel so it is a very spacious open design where you can see the lobby, outside, as well as the kitchen. Service was pretty good and the server was attentive. The food was excellent. I ordered the rockfish sandwich and it was probably one of the best fish sandwiches I have ever had. Fish perfectly seasoned and cooked. It came with house made chips which were very good. Will definitely be back.

This place was amazing! I had the steamed mussels and they are the BEST I've ever had. Also had the fresh bur rata and couldn't have been more pleased. Did I mention that the drinks were also amazingly tasty! The prices were average and the service was great too! I will DEFINITELY return.

We just happened to buy a Gilt City deal for Socci, but we weren't expecting too much from it - just a regular night out. Khai was a knowledgable and nice server who gave us some great recommendations. The shrimp & polenta and the lobster lasagna were really good! I'd go back.

Everyone in our party ordered the Rockfish sandwich- Delicious! Socci is very flexible and let us substitute a substantial side salad or fries for the potato chips. Socci has very enticing elegant modern interior design. The waitress as very responsive and brought a lavish piece of cake for our honored Birthday guest with toppings.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here. I would not recommend going here to celebrate a special occasion. The server we had was not very knowledgeable about the menu and did not seem to have the tact to take care of guests celebrating a special occasion. The manager, who it seemed almost sensing that the server was not being helpful, came over to the table and did extend a warm greeting. When the manager was over at the table, the service was great. When the server was over, it was fair at best. The food was very mixed. Besides taking forever for anything to actually be in front of me to eat or drink, some of the food was very good, but there was some misses. I wanted to like this place more.

We were pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the food at Socci, as frankly, this is just one of dozens of hotels in Crystal City. We asked for, and received, a table in a corner so that we could have a leisurely meal and chat without shouting. Our server was enthusiastic, but not very experienced with timing things. She interrupted our conversation at least three times to ask if we liked the food. Had we been seated in the main area of the restaurant, it is unlikely we would have been able to have a conversation; part of that is because the restaurant is in the lobby, and part of it is because the bar is right there, too. Would I eat here again. Yes! But only if I were staying in that hotel.

Socci is a very nice hotel restaurant. The menu had a number of interesting options, including local (Chesapeake Bay) options. The food is better than what I'd expect for a hotel like the Renaissance Arlington Capital View, and there are few, if any, better options that are within walking distance and open in the evening. It is not cheap, but its also not at the high end of restaurant dining. The pricing seems appropriate to the quality of the food.

The restaurant food was wonderful, portions were great with allowing for full or half portions, however, VERY understaffed and very slow unhelpful help. My boyfriend accidentally spilled his drink while talking right after the waitress gave it to him and it took a waiter/waitress 15 minutes to realize it happened and bring us napkins and did not offer for another drink or a refill. Very disappointed with the hostess and staff. Staff appeared angry and overworked. VERY busy restaurant with TWO waiters, one of which was also working the bar.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2008VIP
    Dined on 8/13/2012
Salad was good, but entree was mediocre, and the prices were a little higher than what the quality would justify. Not many people there at around 7 pm on a Monday night, but since the restaurant is located in the same general area as the hotel lobby, it wasn't the most quiet environment. If you're staying nearby and want a quick bite to eat without having to walk all the way down to the Crystal City shops by the metro, this isn't a bad place to go.

Met a firend there who wanted to check it out. I arrived 10 minutes earlier and ordered a beer (server didn't know what IPA was). Was exptecting a restaurant rather than a lobby cafe. When my guest arrived she ordered a Sidecar(waitress had no clue). Waited another 10 minutes and still no drinks. Didn't see waitress and bartender was "busy" chatting with customers. Waitress finally came out and was just standing around. We finally just left. The server didn't know how to engage us. She said few words that were mumbled. Overall service was unacceptable. I didn't get a feel for Italian other than a few ingredients in typical American fare; chicken, ribs, steak, and fish. As a local, there's no attraction to go back.

The lunch menu was very limited and very different from the dinner menu: not really "Italian" food and mostly just sandwiches or pizza, so it was a disappointment from the start. It was too noisy to really have a conversation. And it took about 35 minutes from when we ordered food until it arrived, which meant we had to rush to finish eating.

Though I usually don't eat at hotel restaurants, I thought I'd give this one a try. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very nice hostess who showed us to our table. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, the restaurant became busy all at once, but it appeared that that there were more than enough wait staff. Our waiter, though very cordial, wasn't very engaged. The manager brought our food out and I asked about a refill on my ice tea (never came). I even asked my waiter, whom it took forever to get (not sure if he went to china to get it). Overall experience, food was very good (I had the Burrata appetizer), restaurant was very hip (decorated), service was hit or miss. Good Place for Happy Hour/meeting friends for drinks but the noise

The decor and ambiance was fantastic. The food was good but not the best that I've had. My pasta was room temperature and the meat balls were dry. The bruschetta and the cannolis were fantastic. I think that I'd return to try other dishes on the menu, but was disappointed after the wonderful reading the reviews that brought me there.

We spent three nights at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View i and found dining at Socci a very positive experience, in fact, it offered some of the best food that we have encountered in a hotel restaurant. So much so that we ate all dinners (including Thanksgiving) on site. The selection was wide, offering something for all taste buds and even their children's menu was above many. In fact, they even offered hand held electronic games to the children to keep them amused. The service was outstanding and it was a pleasure to dine there. Wine and beer list also had a varied selection. So often when traveling we hesitate to dine at a hotel dining establishment and this one certainly provided all we could ask for!

The food and service were excellent. Our waitress took a personal interest in us and in ensuring everything was to our satisfaction. There wasn't much noise, but there also weren't many customers in the restaurant when we were there for Sunday lunch. Prices were reasonable (and the restaurant validated our hotel parking). Our only criticism was the ambience -- while there are many beautiful things around in the hotel's open areas to admire, the restaurant had the feel of a cafeteria -- tables in a very open area, plastic seats, etc. If it had more a cozy feeling, this review would be a rave.

Very modern decor with a menu that pleases the palate. We were mostly delighted with all the fun gadgets here. From the Peugeot salt and pepper mills to the bill carrier that also lights up. Made the dining experience very fun. Food was good but not amazing. We were there on a Friday night and it wasn't too crowded. Nice place to get away from all the hustle and bustle. Dined here for the second time, just as good as the first. Got special treatment from the Sous Chefs working that night (The head chef Adam we met the last time), who's homemade ice cream and panna cotta were just some of the highlights of the meal. Also great respect for us, the diners, as we showed up late and the place was basically empty but nobody hurried us out, they made us feel very comfortable. Do not overlook this restaurant because it's in a hotel, it is terrific and these guys cook fresh, very tasty fare. Bar is great as well. Highly recommend, it's worth the trip to Crystal City if you don't live there!

Apps and entree were very good. The experience was spolied due to it taking 30 minutes to get a dessert out. The waiter said the kitchen was slammed but the dining room wasn't packed. Given the quality of the food I would give them another try and chalk this up to a overwhelmed kitchen night.

It is only a few months old and not yet found by the native Arlington locals,,but watch out when they find it !!!The mussels and sausage is a good as my grandma makes and the seafood pasta mix is refreshing and has a nice pepper kick...their chef Micheal is a wonderful cook and very friendly. Our server Marc Anthony was extremely well versed in the food details and the beverage selection. 5 stars is only moments away. I hope they keep us a good seat when we return. Ken and nancy

We were blown away, the chef came over to the table and helped the girls make miniature pizzas that his staff baked in the wood burning oven right in front of us. The service was super friendly and the food was fantastic. The pork chop was one of the best I've had anywhere. We'll defnintely be back.
