Sob's fried green tomatoes are outstanding. Wine list is very good. Prices are affordable. Even though Soby's and the Lazy Goat are owned by the same company, Soby's is the better restaurant on a food basis. We had a man named Soupy as a waiter and he was very nice. My daughter had Filet migmnon and I had scallops with mashed potaoes and green beans. Both dishes were delicios and beautifully presented. Service was a bit hectic, but fine for the amount of people tthat were in there. Someone suggested Soby's and it was perhaps the best food we'd had in years. The bacon wrapped pork tenderloin was to die for and my husband demolished the braised beef short rib glazed in Cheerwine BBQ sauce. They even brought their drink menu out on and Ipad so you could search through the extensive list with ease. We sat on the top floor overlooking the kitchen expo with was fun to see all the dishes before they went out. It convinced us into calamari and She crab soup, which we do not regret. At 8:00, the host still had not called us for a table. A very nice server saw us standing on the patio area, and he asked if we would like to sit there. The menu was unique and the food and the wine were excellent. Our server, Lynette, was very knowledgeable and very engaging. Instead of the normal quiche, Soby's served egss benedict, crab cakes, grilled salmon, ham, pork and prime rib. Of course, we started off with light and fluffy, and ever so flavorful, cheese biscuits (we went through two baskets, couldn't resist!) and then moved on to the fried green tomatoes appetizer, some of the best that I've had in SC. Although it sounds simple, one of our favorite entrees is the fried chicken with apple butter -- the chicken is seasoned and cooked to perfection, leaving it moist and delicious and the apple butter is a great complement to the chicken. The only drawback to the Sunday brunch is there is just not enough room to fit the people, the food and the waitstaff. We had both and they were really good. The pimento cheese has just a little kick to it. MMM.

Soby' s had always been on our list, but we went to many others before we went here. We were very pleasantly surprised the moment we walked in. The main room has a warm feeling and is comfortable to be in. We were especially glad we had asked for a booth. The booths are private, but still allow "people watching". The outdoor dining looked like fun too.
