Diner Reviews
  • "The early bird menue was adaquit the service was excellent, food was prepared well, Food had an excellent taste. The only thing there could be a larger desert list.. All in all our dinning experience was excellent. We were a party of four and our 4:45 reservations was honored and was seated.."

  • "apparently there is no communication between the checkin desk and the seater and they do not look at requests we make...we always ask for a window table and they always want to seat us in a small dark area....portions seem to be smaller, but food is still good"

  • "The server couldn't have been more helpful with selection advice. Our meals were Very tasty. Great place for fish or seafood quick fix. Not a place for FINE dining."

  • "After coming here for years this was the first time a group of six of us disliked our food....It was presented burnt, not cooked properly (medium rare was well done)...the service waiter was annoyed with us even with our generous 20% + tip (he didn't deserve it)...bad attitude and was annoyed when we requested more water, coffee, returned dishes...very unlike my many other experiences...Maybe when the "rush" is over, it'll be better again...I would return because I always order the dishes I like and they were still ok but not hot."

  • "I used to love this restaurant. Last night was a disaster. Most important, the food was terrible. Last time there for me."

  • "Great food, service ok, not great, best place for a fish foodie."

  • "6 of us and all the food was excellent. service was good and we enjoyed the dinner very much. We will go back."

  • "Our party of 6 were seated on time which was reserved on line. The staff was friendly and efficient but possibly a little pressured by the fact that there was not an empty seat in the restaurant. For such a large facility the food was served in a timely manner. The polyester napkins are not GOOD. They are scratch and non absorbent. When paper napkins were requested we were given paper towels. They did the trick but are not what I would expect from this restaurant. Having good linens denotes a fine restaurant. This is not fine dining. Too noisy for meaningful conversation. Food wise good, ambiance is lacking, staff is excellent under extremely pressured situation. S. Ross"

  • "Great seafood, we had the house specialty. Halibut on a plank"
    Dined on 3/26/2014
  • "While the food was very good, the portions were very skimpy to say the least. I consider a dinner totalling $60 for 2 people without drinks to be expensive and we should not have left hungry. My husband ordered salmon. When I saw the portion, I thought that my 6 year old granddaughter would be asking form more when finished. No one should leave a restaurant thinking they were still hungry. We will not return."

  • "The food that was served bore little resemblance to what was ordered. Several entrees had to be sent back several times by various people in the party, for further cooking and even for an exchange, in one case. We came away with the impression that the cooks were hired right off the street, for the evening. Judging from the way the food was prepaired, the cooks had no prior experience. It was a very disappointing outing for all of the diners in the party."

  • "That's what we would call our server, whose name is Carlie. It was such a pleasure having her serve us. Really memorable. I wanted to tell the manager but it was late and I couldn't stay to look for him. Judy"

  • "Cedar planked halibut at Snappers is a winner. Served with smashed sweet potatoes or garlic mashed, the taste sensations swirl all the way to your tummy! Fabulous. The service is iffy. We weren't presented with any specials, given excuses why bread wasn't brought to the table, and the check was presented before we could order coffee. If the service matched the food, Snappers would be five-star all the way."

  • "We really likes this restaurant. It was quite crowded, even at 5 pm. The decor is very pleasant. Our waiter was very good, and knew the menu well. The fried calamari was not rubbery, obviously made fresh for each order. I had ceder planked halibut, which was excellent. My husband had trout and my daughter had a pecan crusted sole. All very good. This restaurant is worth visiting, and you will certainly need a reservation."

  • "Good, well prepared seafood is the reason this establishment is always busy. If you like to eat fish but prefer to avoid the usual fried, blackened, etc . sandwich, taco, breaded, etc. fares, then treat yourself to this popular restaurant. Not gourmet for the "foodie" but a reasonable attempt for different and tasty. I most appreciate that Snappers pours the local beer (and has a decent selection of wine)."

  • "Lively but a little noisy on a Saturday night. Food very good , especially enjoyed the cedar plank halibut and smashed sweet potatoes. We enjoyed our dinner and would definitely return."

  • "Had the lobster and crab bisque which tasted like flour. Entree was wood plank cod which was burnt and tasted as such. Rolls were delicious. This seems to be a senior citizen hangout in a shopping center. The hostess was distracted and seemed overwhelmed."

  • "thought everything was very greasy - from the garlic knots to the fish... It seemed like they use a LOT OF BUTTER instead or OLIVE OIL. Waitstaff needs a little brushing up too. We asked for an extra knife and was given an entire place setting .. really not necessary"

  • "We came with friends who have never been to Snappers. They will now make Snappers a regular when they come down to Florida. Always had the Halibit on the Plank, this time tried the Mahi Mahi. Loved it. So tender and juicy. Now I have a problem of which to choose."

  • "we got there too late for it. Got seated with a reservation l/2 hour later than we should have but they made it up by way of complimentary deserts for all of us which was wonderful (chockolate cake)...-- enough for three but we took some home. Food was served leisurely and we left about 10 pm and were well satiated."

  • "It's always busy there but reservations are honored and that to me is one of the most important aspects of dining in S. Florida. Of course, the food is always reliably good, which is important, as well."

  • "I had heard that Snappers was the best seafood place in Boynton Beach and it certainly lives up to it's reputation. The service was attentive, and the food was delicious. I went with two friends and although the restaurant was busy, we were not rushed at all. The ambiance is lovely - peaceful and cheerful and the noise level is very low. The menu was extensive and inviting and the waiter seemed happy to answer our questions. All in all, a great dining experience."

  • "My sole almondine was dry and tasteless and my friend's shrimp were not to her liking. The best item served was the cole slaw."

  • "We are new to the area and was looking for a good fish restaurant. This obviously is a very popular one for the senior crowd. Unfortunately, what we were looking for was simply grilled fresh fish. This is not their specialty. Everything on the menu is a concoction. Their really is no selection of simply grilled, broiled or baked fish. Even when asked to prepare something simple, they are really not geared to do this. My wife and I both had Halibut which is their signature dish. However, the quality was just not up to what we are accustomed to."

  • "We went during the Feb break so very crowded and had to wait about 15 min to sit despite having a reservation. Service was very slow and other than the King Crab (which was some of the best I've ever eaten) the food wasn't so hot (stuffed shrimp and shrimp scampi). Maybe the fish would have been a better option. However, they have one of the best wine lists I've ever seen and prices to enjoy. Priced so well you wish you could take home a case. So, go to enjoy some great wine and King Crab and just realize it may be a bit slow."
