Diner Reviews
  • "Inventive, delicious food from starters to entrees but restaurant service seems to decline with each visit-bar service on the other hand was friendly and fun"

  • "Great dinner but needed a little pizazz for St Patricks Day so I'm glad I brought my own green food coloring for my beer."

  • "Wish I had gone there with my husband, but snowboarder son and I had a great time. Atmosphere was great and we had a wonderful table. Would recommend to anyone! Really nice place!"

  • "The food was average. This place received quite a bit of hype, but it's overrated. There are many other restaurants in Jackson with better quality food and interesting menu. At Snake River, the price is high compared to what you actually receive. Service was good, but cold. Go elsewhere."

  • "I can't have gluten or dairy, and this place took care of that beautifully. I had a salad of mixed greens and grape tomatoes with a light vinaigrette that was just delicious. For an entree, I had the eight-ounce Black Angus beef tenderloin with a rustic pesto and tomato-bacon jam that was fantastic, along with steamed spinach. The beef just melted in my mouth. I think I'm spoiled for life now. My husband had the rare ahi tuna au poivre and loved it. The service was very good, and the stone fireplace in the center of the dining room is beautiful. I'd definitely return if we make it back to the area."

  • "Excellent food, good value. Service seemed a bit rushed. Wouldn't hesitate to eat there again. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the meal."

  • "after all these years the SRG continues to put out fine food night after night. Their menu changes periodically but they continue to bring back diners favorites. Service is impeccable. The ambiance of the dining room welcomes diners, and the general buzz in the room reflects many satisfied customers. A bit pricey but it is the best place in Jackson Hole, bar none."

  • "We have dined here every anniversary and love our tradition! Each year we get the tartare pizza, and then add delicacies the grille offers. Each year we say that though this grille is so special to us, it really isn't overpriced, and is the same as trio or local! Amazing food at a competitive price!"

  • "Beautiful place, very good service but the menu have little coherence and the food is not at the same level of the overall restaurant."
    Dined on 3/6/2014
  • "Good food but rushed without need. 2 bites into the main the dessert menus were placed in front of us as "the soufflé takes 20 mins". So, um, right, we need to eat our mains now and then be ready to shovel all over again at the 20 mins count. Unnecessary. The rush belies the quality of the kitchen staff. If diners get to dessert and can't wait for the soufflé they can order something else. Oh, and they don't have nice glassware either - could definitely upgrade to Riedel or better, again as the small things do distract from the talent in the kitchen."

  • "This used to be my favourite restaurant in Jackson Hole - not any more. I think this restaurant is enjoying their good reputation too much and their standards have fallen. I made two reservations for the week I am in Jackson Hole - after my first visit I cancelled my second reservation. I don't think I'll be back again."

  • "SRG is a wonderful restaurant in the off season. The food is always good, but on our recent visit, tables were packed everywhere, the service was a bit slow, and the noise level was 75 dB (yes, I measured with my iPhone app) - loud enough to make conversations really difficult. We were surprised, as it was a Wednesday night, and we came relatively early (6:30 pm). I have learned my lesson: go only in the off season!"

  • "Have been going here for over 20 years - one of our favorite restaurants anywhere. Food is always innovative and tasty, servers are friendly and helpful. The best!"

  • "Food here is fantastic! Interiors are really nice. Waiter was terrific! Go here when in Jackson Hole for the food primarily although everything was very good."

  • "This is not an inexpensive place to go for dinner relative to other options in town but it a great place to treat your self to a very good meal. They have a good wine list but it's a little pricy. The service is excellent."

  • "Vacationing in Jackson and looking for a great meal, so happy I tried it. Everything was perfect from the moment I stepped through the door. The wine selection was wonderful. I chose the Colorado Lamb and was so pleased. The spin on preparation was wonderful. The vegetables were perfectly paired and delicate. I can't wait to return."

  • "The food there is fabulous. The waiters are very efficient and friendly."

  • "Group of 8, including 2 kids. Exactly what you'd expect from a lux ski town restaurant. Great ambiance w fireplace, stones, coziness, wonderful menu. Good balance bt wild Western food and "safe" choices."

  • "Very nice Valentine's dinner in a great location. Interesting menu with local flair. While not a "romantic" atmosphere due to the large parties, it was definitely calm enough to be able to focus on each other."

  • "Year after year, season after season, the Snake River Grill continues to be a superb place to dine. Wonderful abience, great food, and very fine service, all at reasonable prices, especially when compared to the East and West coasts. A real pleasure to be there after an always good day in Jackson Hole!"

  • "I guess the Snake River grill is not that kid friendly. We were there with our grandson of 18 months and there was no highchair."
    Dined on 2/10/2014
  • "This is one of the best, if not the best eateries in Jackson. Truly a don't miss."

  • "We went here because we heard how great this place was everybody kept raving about it. We have come to the conclusion that it was just a lot of hype because of what it looks like inside. The decor this place is great which would lead you to believe the food is out of this world, but unfortunately the food was just mediocre at best. Don't get me wrong the food wasn't horrible it just wasn't what it should've been in my opinion."

  • "The ambiance can't be beat. A wonderful warm room, a great Western feel, yet sophisticated. We would have liked a trout selection other than fish and chips style featuring deep fried trout. The seared ahi was excellant as was the creamed spinach. We had a wonderful evening."

  • "Still my favorite place in Jackson, always the best food and great service"

  • "My latest meal at SRG was on 1/17/14. I have eaten at the SRG multiple times and have always rated it my favorite JH restaurant. Something changed in the recent year. Eating there recently I found the overall experience to be stale. The food wasn't as good, they didn't keep old favorites on the menu, the service was less enthusiastic. Willing to give an old favorite a second chance which I did in December with a very similar opinion . I gave the SRG a third chance this January and was similarily disappointed. The whole experience was disappointing and the food unexciting. Competition in Jackson has caught up to and exceeded SRG. As a new permanent resident to Jackson I can find many better restaurants to dine in. Sorry SRG, you lost a fan."

  • "Loved the place. Our waitress was great and everything we had we loved. Trout fish and chips and pork shank were both wonderful."

  • "Snake River Grill lives up to the hype. It's warm and inviting and an enjoyable experience from start to finish. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the potato pancake and it was delicious. Our dinner waiter was very knowledgable and help us make great selections- the ahi tuna and goose leg with Brussels sprouts. We both loved our meals. For appetizer, dinner, drinks and dessert our bill was $200 but as I said before, it was worth it!"

  • "upon arrival we knew we were in for a special dining treat. The thing that stood out the most was the ambience and the beautiful decorations. Both the dining room and the bar give a very cozy Mountain woodsy feel. The service was top notch and very professional. We decided to sample several small place before having our entree each small plate provided amazing flavor combinations. They were out of the country that I prefer but we ended up with aNew york and a filet which were both excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family."

  • "This was my first time experiencing Snake River Grill on a holiday like New Year's Eve. The service was superb, and although the menu was limited due to the holiday, it was still exceptional. Great restaurant with beautiful décor and the freshest seafood I've found in Jackson Hole."

  • "Went there for dinner after getting engaged during the day. The waitress greeted my fiancée by asking her if she was having the best day ever. She was great all night long, letting us take our time while being attentive. The food was exceptioal and so was the wine. Thanks for a truly memorable evening."

  • "This was our best restaurant experience in Jackson. Incredible food, starting with the onion rings and stuffed mushrooms, to the fabulous choices of entrees including brick chicken and steak. The wait staff is professional and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is fun and vibrant all in a rustic, western motif. Loved it."

  • "The special was O/S, only the desert was disappointing."

  • "Fabulous. Expensive but make it your one place to go if you only go to one place. Great waitress, great food and great atmosphere. We really enjoyed everything. From the truffled fries. And onion rings to the great steaks. Very tasty and enjoyable."

  • "We eat at SRG every time we come to Jackson. It is a fabulous restaurant- truly the best in Jackson. The food and the service are stellar."

  • "Maybe because it's the holiday season. It took 20 minutes to get a drink. Service was poor for such a wonderful restaurant. The winter menu is off. there was only a Caesar salad. the other salads all had meat on them. In this day and age of vegetarians and the want for Spinach and kale Salads. it was disappointing. To have fish and chips on this menu, ??? A calzone belongs at Dornan's . Need more vegetarian dishes. I am not a veg. but know there are allot in this town. Too many out of there wild meats. Get back to meats that majority of people enjoy, SRG is NOT The Gunbarrel. Go back to classics..."
