Diner Reviews
  • "Snake River Grill came highly recommended from hotel staff (The Wyoming Inn), relatives who live locally, and "people around town." It lived up to its reputation. A little pricey, but worth it. A great vacation town, and a restaurant worth it's downtown setting."

  • "All items sampled were excellent. Definitely first class food but really impressed with wait staff. They were very familiar with menu, and made great suggestions. It was such a pleasure to dine here."

  • "Nice restaurant. Upscale dining experience with a relaxed environment. Jeans are fine. No jacket need for men."

  • "Wonderful, just wonderful. Had seared scallops over heirloom tomatoes, then rack of lamb. Both done perfectly. Will return."

  • "Server had a bit of an attitude, food just ok and pricy; disappointed as we waited 2 days for reservations during our vacation"

  • "Very active and lively in the main dining room but a bit warm. Good recommendation from Trip Advisor and staff from the Lodge at Jackson Hole. I tried the corn ravioli and loved it. Good wine list and a variety of unique selections to choose from on both food and wine."

  • "Saved this place for our last night in Jackson Hole. After a week of adventure and beauty in the Tetons and Yellowstone this was the spot selected to celebrate my 50th birthday. What a huge mistake! The waiter could not have been more impolite or disinterested in his job. The venue-beautiful. The menu-spectacular. The service -spoiled the entire evening. I was beginning to wonder if I was on the TV program, "What would you do?" Unfortunately not, just a rude person who obviously doesn't like his job."

  • "We were there on 4th of July weekend which is a very busy time, and luckily had a wonderful seating location in a nice corner vs. out in the open space which can be very loud and was very crowded with quite a few large groups of 10. The food was phenomenal but they were out of some of their specials and wine selections so had to offer more expensive options and unfortunately the wine selected was not the best. We did sample the onion rings, which they are known for, and I have to say it was well worth trying - they are fantastic and their presentation even more impressive. We also had a few of the starters which were also very good. Needless to say we had to take home a few doggy bags as we wanted to try so many of the offerings."

  • "Snake River Grill has been a favorite stop of ours for years. The ambience, food, and service is always top notch. But while waiting for our table, my husband ordered a couple of drinks.....I requested a margarita, nice summery drink......almost choked to find that it was $17.00, served in a short stacked martini glass...basically 5 sips worth. We expect to pay more when coming here, but I really thought that was incredibly overpriced. We (our family of 4) still enjoyed appetizers, entrees, and dessert.....the eskimo pies should never be passed up! You are tremendously busy each time we come, so I'm not sure why the prices have to keep creeping up so much."

  • "SRG is fabulous. Service outstanding, food delectuble and atmosphere is laid backed mountain elegance. Have been coming to SRG for 15 years. Brought our small children who grew up with this great place."

  • "The service was well timed and attentive; my fellow diners were a bit noisy but tourists can be loud; the food (for me white gazpacho follow with pork shank) was beautifully presented, very nicely spiced and matched perfectly with the recommended wine...a 2007 Gaja Barbaresco; I departed in great spirit."

  • "It has turned into a tourist spot, not a gem. High prices and staff has high opinion of themselves. Food is very good but a half dozen other places in our little town can match it."

  • "Lovely restaurant with memorable food and service. The crispy pork shank was delicious and the bread and herb butter literally melted in our mouths! We were very impressed with the manner in which the food was brought out--the servers make a production of it. Thank you for a great night out!"

  • "Booked a table here because it was recommended by a local friend. Martini order turned out to be frozen Hendricks gin from freezer, which was a delicious surprise. Service was great for such a crowded place. Scallop appetizer was heavenly, and arugula salad was excellent. The cedar plank salmon was prepared perfectly - requested medium rather than medium rare as suggested by waiter. Korean Hot Bowl was terrific. Good wine-by-glass list."

  • "Had a fabulous meal and great service at Snake River Grill. At the last minute due to a traffic snarl, we asked if we could bump our reservation and despite a booked room, they shifted us to a better time and still gave us a great table to celebrate our anniversary. Wonderful service and great food!"

  • "This is a go to restaurant for us, especially for significant occasions, like this time it was a birthday. We were treated wonderfully by the wait staff, as usual, and the experience inside SRG is just always great. However, this time our food was delivered only lukewarm, especially the pasta appetizer. We also felt the menu choices were fewer than usual, and many of them were Southwestern or Asian influenced, and we consider SNG to be a more American Western Grill (hence its name?). I am accustomed to giving SNG five stars, but not this time."

  • "6 of us had a special dinner to celebrate and I must say it was bad. Our steaks were tough and not able to eat. Our server said they had meat that was not lean and was a little tough. We canceled our other reservations and was very disappointed we had had great food in the past."

  • "Several of us college friends enjoyed a reunion in Jackson Hole area with spouses this past week. We came to the Snake River Grill on our last night and it was a fantastic way to conclude our visit. The creative menu, superb service and lovely atmosphere all combined to make it the perfect evening."

  • "The meal was the best one we had in Jackson, but we didn't find Jackson to be much of a food town. Service was good, wine list had some things of interest, but make no mistake, this is a high volume right in the heart of tourist downtown kind of place."

  • "We enjoyed our Friday the 13th dining....always like the onion rings as a starter. Other good appetizers available. Shared a wonderful spinach salad that they split and served and each portion was garnished and substantial. Some restaurants bring an empty plate to do your own sharing but not at SRG...nice! Our entrees were cooked to perfection and delicious. Don't sit near the open door if you get chilled easily as it was very cold with the cool air blowing in!!! Requested door to be shut which didn't happen immediately. Table service was the best!!!!!!! Never rushed us to finish courses, always attentive to filling beverages, fun sense of humor and added to the evening experience."

  • "I've been to SRG many times over the years, and everytime it has been outstanding. The consistency is amazing! The food is great - highlights are always the shared SRG Potato Pancake and the SRG Flatbreads. They continue to make the best burger in Jackson, but you have to ask for it since it's not on the menu any more. The service is also top-notch, comparable to the best restaurants in NYC or LA. We were just there with our families to celebrate our engagement and it was fantastic as always..."

  • "Wonderful ambience. A great wine list. Excellently prepared dishes. Lot's of local game, but more traditional options like steak and chicken as well. The onion rings were amazing. Fantastic dessert we tried their signature Eskimo Pie. This is a splurge restaraunt, but well worth it."

  • "We had a wonderful experience eating here to celebrate our 41st anniversary. Besides the inviting décor, ambiance and personable staff they know how to cook. My wife had the Wild Game Korean “Hot Bowl” and claimed it to be one of the best dishes she’s ever had. Tasty with just right spiciness! My Crispy Pork Shank was outstanding & considered the signature dish. Great wine choices, cocktails & food concluded to a smart decision on choosing this restaurant. A real winner!!"

  • "White asparagus with Jamon Iberico; Fried Lamb Tongues; grilled Romaine with Romesco that accompanies a perfectly rare Bison Steak - a meal that makes the well traveled feel right at home. All aspects of the meal were well composed and exciting while the wine list is inspired and totally unexpected. A Basque Txakolina on the same list as a Hungarian Tokaj (Furmint)...I wish I had more time to explore just the wine list. If I am ever back in JxnHole I'll definitely have a meal here. Brava to our server, don't recall her name but it was a pleasure to speak to someone knowledgeable about the food and wine and that has traveled a bit to know something beyond the expected niceties."

  • "This would be an average restaurant anywhere else. The wine list is mediocre. The food is very expensive for what it is. Perhaps in a backwater like Jackson, this is the best restaurant in town. "

  • "Enjoyable evening with wonderful dining selections and wine. Service was excellent and our waiter was very knowledgeable in all aspects. We will definitely dine at the Snake Rive Grill when we return to Jackson. Looking forward to sampling down the list of 'small plates'."

  • "The Snake River Grill was an amazing dinner experience. It is a beautifully restaurant with great artwork on the walls. It's menu was outstanding and the delivery was even better. The appetizers were fabulous and, in our group of 12, every single meal was AMAZING. Our waiter was incredible....as was all the staff at Snake River Grill. It was a 5+ star dining experience from beginning to end. "

  • "This was off-season, and even though the scene was hopping, the room was not jam-packed and the noise level was acceptable. The service was outstanding, and the food was very good, with a new menu full of spring items (asparagus, rams, fava, etc.). Will definitely go again during the next off-season."

  • "We ate at SNR for dinner and ordered two appetizers (fresh morel mushrooms and potato pancakes) and two entrees (ribeye steak special and wild game Korean hot bowl). All four dishes were cooked perfectly, plated attractively, and served professionally. We enjoyed every one of them and wouldn't change a thing. The surroundings are Western motif appropriate to Jackson Hole without being overdone or kitschy. The Snake River Grill continues to earn its reputation as the best place to eat in Jackson Hole. We will return soon and will recommend the SNR to our friends."

  • "We went for dinner on my son's 13th birthday. This is his favorite place in Jackson. Everything was great except his birthday cake. It was completely uneatable! They put salt in the cake instead of sugar. They were some what apologetic but not really. For him his birthday dinner was ruined. "
