In 2009, we became Oxford’s neighborhood restaurant and living room. The brain child of Award-Winning Chef, John Currence, Snackbar is a Southern Brasserie that prides itself on using local Mississippi ingredients whenever possible. We are your place for the freshest raw oysters from around the country, artfully crafted cocktails, and fine internationally-inspired food cultivated by 2019 James Beard ‘Best Chef: South’, Vishwesh Bhatt.     As usual, the experience was outstanding. It was graduation weekend, which made it extremely crowded and a bit louder than usual. Overall, the experience remained fantastic.

    We love snack bar and always have a great food-last night was the first miss on the redfish- i couldn’t cut it with a fork and knife. This is more on the seafood provider than on the restaurant. The catfish Parmesan however was over the top amazing. Wait staff made up for any food that wasn’t up to par. Drinks were on point. Sitting outside was a nice change- weather was perfect!

    It was a very busy night, so a little grace given. The food quality was not up to what we usually get at Snackbar, one of our favorites.

    I feel like as Oxford has grown the food, especially at the higher end restaurants, has gone down. The last few times I've eaten at Snackbar I've been disappointed (same with CG.) Oysters were great, but everything else was okay. I had lamb and it was super dry (asked it to be cooked as the chef recommends.) My husband had the daily special pork dish, and it too was super dry. Given the prices, I just expect a better meal. Service was good (hostess, bartenders, servers)...friendly and efficient.

    Snack Bar was great, as usual. The service, food, and ambiance were exceptional. The menu changes between every visit, so it stays fresh. Two big thumbs up!

    Our server was wonderful! Very helpful and guided on food allergies. There were 2 in the party that ordered the steak. It was to be prepared medium rare and it was way too rare. Very bloody and almost raw. It also was not hot and barely warm when it was served. I had a few bites of the mashed potatoes that did not have all the red from the steak on them. I ate the end piece of the steak that was medium rare. The rest of the party said the rolls were delicious. The other 3 in the party got the same burger. Two made the same way, but my daughters had horseradish on it. The other 2 did not. Chips were good. Thick and crispy. French onion soup was good and had great flavor. We definitely had much higher expectations. It am not sure why the server did not notice how undercooked and raw the steaks were as they were sliced on top of the potatoes.
