Smyth at The Iron Horse HotelGroup of ThreeCome for brunch. The wonderful ambience and the quietness of the day made it very enjoyable as we did not have to yell at each other to talk. The menu was unique and every thing on it very tasty. The prime rib, scotch egg and the saltine encrusted blue gill were excellent.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique flavorsWe had a great meal at Smyth. The tenderloin was perfectly prepared and very tender. The halibut was also great. Got to try the cheese curds, they were great.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting menu, very good foodWe went to Smythe to celebrate a friends birthday. The food was very good, the service was excellent. I wouldn't recommend the chicken wings and donuts though. They sounded interesting and it was an unusual combination but not a good one. Everything else we ordered was great.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGem inside the White Horse HotelI have eaten here twice now and the food both times has been outstanding.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMMy Favorite Restaurant in MilwaukeeThis place is an absolute must visit especially if you are staying the night at The Iron Horse Hotel. The menu is Cool, Hip and Classic combining traditional dished with a modern flair along with creative new menu items that push culinary boundaries. The cocktail menu is fantastic and entices your to get outside your comfort zone. Service is always spot on. If you go once, you will definitely want to go back.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOur last dinner in MKE!We moved from Milwaukee to Baltimore as of - oh just now - and we decided to have our moving eve dinner somewhere we'd never been before. We wished we'd found it before - what a great meal we had. Very pleased with both our entrees.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food, service and environmentThe food, service and environment consistently meet high expectations.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome Mother's Day BrunchMother's Day Brunch was fabulous. They had everything.... unlimited Bloody Mary's and Mimosa's ! We will go back for dinner and drinks and enjoy the patio !5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe chose Smyth for our doubleWe chose Smyth for our double date night with another couple. Upon our arrival, we were struck by the lobby --it has a loft feeling, with huge beams, iron work, leather sofas, and a large American flag. The restaurant has the same ambiance, but without any of the pretention that you might expect --this place serves both the sophisticated business traveler and the road weary Harley rider, who also receives homage in the hotel lobby and restaurant. Our server was knowledgable, attentive but not intrusive, and actually pretty engaging. We enjoyed his humor as much as his service. The food was excellent, of course! Great American cuisine, perfectly prepared, with simple clean seasonal flavors. Try the chef's menu and wine filght! YUM!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial celebrationOur son, a 2nd year resident at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor was in town & after reviewing 4 possible places for dinner, chose Smyth . . . we were not disappointed, plus we were fortunate to have a fantastic waiter, Nick. Our son loved the food, the amibience, and our server . . . I was glad I'd put it on my list of 4 possible places for us to celebrate . . . I'm sure we'll be back again!
(Plus, I love walking around the lobby of the Iron Horse Hotel just to look at all the interesting artifacts - it's part of the experience of dining at Smyth.)5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat time but lacked romanceAmazing service. We had Nick who was fantastic. The service was professional while still being casual/comfortable. The decore is amazing. Swanky adult friendly. I did NOT like the table. We got sat next to another table and could hear EVERYTHING they were talking about, and they were not loud it was just that both booths were that close. The table itself had iron bars underneath it that kept me from crossing my legs or getting close to my hubby, impacting the romance of the date night. Overall I loved this place and will go back many times again, but will ask for a different table if we are looking for a romantic evening because it just wasn't intimate enough for romance.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOustanding restaurant forOustanding restaurant for entertainment or social dinners.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMevery menu item was differentevery menu item was different from the standard preparations at other restaurants, lots of variety in the menu selections, very nice pace of service for a business dinner4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMHello, our first time at SmythHello, our first time at Smyth for brunch and it was outstanding! Had a drink at the bar and noticed the person next to me having a filet off the bar menue. Looked great and I was hopeful for the same for dinner in Smyth, unfortunately different menu. Did have a similar filet off dinner menu for $14 more! Beef was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful. Also had the spinach salad which was huge! Other diner had the lamb chop and she said it was excellent. Great service overall.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
