Diner Reviews
  • "Had an absolutely fabulous meal! Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Ate here on a Saturday night. Grilled oysters were phenomenal. Fried Quail was very good. Had the mixed grill for 2 (pork, fish and ny strip steak with 3 sauces, grilled asparagus, mashed potatoes and grilled okra. All were excellent. As a red meat guy, I have to say the fish with one of the sauces was the best thing on the plate. I have eaten all over the world and this was legitimately one of the best dinners I have ever had. Would definitely recommend."

  • "3guys out for dinner. The service was good , all the staff were very attentive. The food was very good. My friend had the trout and stated was cooked to perfection. Two of us had the lamb which had great flavor. I thought the chefs choice of basmati rice and chimichurri a little unusual. The fried quail legs were fabulous as an app. Drinks were good. Overall a pleasant experiance and a good night out"

  • "Great food (the pork was melt-in-your mouth), great service, great atmosphere. My wife's & my second visit to Smoke on Cherry Street and we've been extremely impressed both times. I love the restarurant's focus on locally sourced, fresh ingredients, extending to offering beers & wines from Oklahoma, and even providing local artists wall space to local artists w/o charging a comission on any sales the artists make (we ended up buying from one of the artists after our first visit)."

  • "The appetizers were great, the watermelon salad was a little hot but good and the only thing that wasn't great was the service. I guess being a Sunday night the waitress got a little slammed and it took sometimes asking two times to get things."

  • "Menu was different and appealing. Parking is a bit of a problem. Servers were at tentative. It is a bit pricy but the food was great. I had a crab stuffed green tomato and the Greek gazpacho salad, both of which were delicious. Our entire party was quite complimentary about their choices."

  • " We prefer not to go to a chain restaurant for dinner. Smoke offers the great location, good service and unique menu we want when we leave the house for a meal."

  • "I made my reservation through Open Table and let them know 3 things. We didn't want to sit next to kitchen - We didn't A+ We wanted a booth - Didn't get a booth - we would have waited a few more minutes to get one instead of a table but wasn't offered… It was my wife's Birthday - nothing was said, mentioned, etc…. This led me to believe 1 of 2 things happened: 1. Open Table didn't transfer the info that I put in the reservation 2. The Restaurant Host didn't bother to read the comments I put in the online reservation. It was overall a great experience because of the food. Always amazing food….."

  • "Smoke always has fabulous food!!! I've been to Smoke several times and they are always consistent on great tasting food, beautiful presentation of food, and a great atmosphere. I will definitely go again and again."

  • "The "Butcher Block" was a wonderful choice for two, with enough great food to take home and enjoy the next day. The Salmon, Pork chop and New York strip were all grilled to perfection and the watermelon salad had the perfect kick to tie it all together! Wow, I'm ready to go again."

  • "I've never had a chicken and waffle entrée better than at Taste of Belgium in Cincinnati, so up front this is my benchmark. Others in my party really enjoyed their meals, so I'm giving the food 4 stars. However, my waffle was really unimaginative and quite tasteless aside from the maple syrup. The chicken was strips of very dry, over fried chicken with no spice whatsoever. Chicken should be tender amd juicy and look like chicken at a restaurant of this caliber. I really think Smoke needs to experience proper chicken and waffles. Service was pleasant, aside from the hostess getting upset with us for having 7 when the max OpenTable would allow was 4. I even put that we'd be 7 in the notes, and she apparently didn't read."

  • "Valet parking new, probably a good idea. Accommodations as requested. Good service. Loved the filet, every time excellent. Always get the smoked Romaine lettuce salad. Always get the smoked okra, a perennial favorite. Good quality locally brewed beers on tap. Wine list is good, actually ordered a case from my local wine shop based on their list. Young clientele, fun environment. This is one of our three or four favorite Tulsa restaurants, especially when the family is all home."

  • "We went there for my husbands birthday. The service and atmosphere were both great and the food was incredible! We will definitely go back."

  • "Dinner and wine were outstanding. The wine list was extensive and our wait staff friendly and did not rush us. Thoroughly enjoyed dinner and will definitely be back."

  • "I've dined at Smoke many times and keep coming back because they have a way of surprising me with their take on classics. Tonight I had shrimp gumbo. Normally this dish would be more like a hearty stew, but Smoke served a deconstructed version, leaving the okra whole and making it a little less soupy and more like a grilled shrimp with a nicely spiced sauce. Great job on a classic."

  • "Nice restaurant in cool part of town with "inventive" menu that tries a little too hard to be edgy with their food. Maybe it's just not my thing and I should have stuck with steak instead of grilled pork belly and watermelon salad and BBQ quail. Trying something new doesn't always work out. Grilled pork belly is not appetizing! My husband ordered scallops, shrimp and grits which came out with a sweet cinnamon flavor in the runny grits. The scallops were undercooked and the lobster succotash fishy. The waiter was slow to take our order and didn't tell us about specials. Expensive and not worth the price for the food. They are very proud of their wines too. Also pricey. Could be a great place with a little tweaking."

  • "I ordered the New York strip. What I received was a slab of Tyrannosaurus Rex! It was the biggest NY strip I've ever had. Not only that, it was cooked to perfection. I ordered it medium-rare and it wasn't on the grill a minute longer than it should've been."
    Dined on 7/6/2014
  • "The food was very good. Our waitress was okay, she didn't go over the specials or make any recommendations"

  • "Smoke does an incredible job of being a very local place with a wonderful commitment to the quality of your experience. They've thought through all the details, provide an unbelievable taste without ever feeling pretentious or haughty. This is one of, if not the best, steak in Tulsa. The price point for the Ribeye is high (but not the highest in town). And the taste is amazing."

  • "We had not been back to Smoke since it changed ownership, weren't sure how it would compare. But it was great! Two in our party had the gazpacho and gumbo, both were excellent. Our grandson enjoyed the prime rib, and I had the house salad, small steak with truffle mashed potatoes and grilled okra. We all share a wonderful carrot cake, very artistically presented. Great evening. Warning - parking is always a hassle."

  • "The menu is varied, and we tried some foods we'd not had. Fried cauliflower could have been better because it was cold by the time it got to us. Shrimp and scallop risotto was excellent and the scallops were cooked well, which is not the easiest thing. My companion had quail which was nicely prepared but I think that quail (1st time for both of us) is not going to be either of our favorites. Panna cotta was excellent. Bread pudding had a funky texture, was very dense and not the greatest I've had. I think that they were trying to put their signature on bread pudding but I like the traditional prep the best. Noise level was acceptable. Service was very good."

  • "Some great brunch & lunch items and a brew list (national and local labels) to handle anyone's pallet. Oh, and the dinner menu is excellent, too. As their motto states, "Inspired American, locally sourced". Spot on!"

  • "We enjoyed being treated to a wonderful Father's Day brunch at Smoke. The service was prompt, the drinks, the food, all very well prepared and most importantly delivered and administered with good intentions. Very enjoyable. Recommend it highly!"

  • "This was a great choice for my birthday dinner with my husband. The quail leg appetizer and crab stuffed fried green tomatoes were awesome. We ordered the platter for 2 and everything was amazing. There was a rib eye, swordfish and 2 barbequed quail. Everything tasted so good. We had never had quail or swordfish so it was nice to have the variety. Also came with grilled okra which was so yummy, grilled/sautéed mushrooms and truffled potatoes. We would totally go back."

  • "We enjoyed the food selection and the food we selected. Service was good (I grade hard on service). Drinks were a bit pricey. I took my bride for our anniversary. We'll definitely go again."

  • "Shrimp gumbo was to die for along with the grilled lettuce on my salad. Also the fried crab cake on a green tomato was insane delicious. From start to finish this restaurant blew me away. Only thing that didn't make it perfect was my wife wanted peach schnapps in her cosmopolitan and they do not have peach. Who doesn't have peach schnapps at a bar? Finished off the night watching hockey and smoking a cigar in the lounge in the back. Atta boy to the chef, owners and staff. Get some schnapps ;)"

  • "I understand and appreciate the mark up pricing on adult beverages as relates to owning a business, profit/loss, etc. That being said, in today's world of instant research via mobile devices, it is hard to order a $14 glass of wine when I can pick up the bottle for $17 at my local wine cellar. $14 for a $35 bottle maybe, not $17."

  • "I would easily rate Smoke one of the top ten best restaurants in Tulsa for lunch and dinner. It is consistently fabulous and has a very nice menu selection. The service is always fantastic as is the ambience. "

  • "I had the smoked trout salad which I enjoyed and thought was quite tasty. My son didn't really like the biscuits (said they were sweet) and gravy but did like the bacon. "

  • "The menu has some delectable offerings such as bacon jam served with a creamy goat cheese spread and crostini. We even ordered some to take home. Their crab cake appetizer was crunchy deliciousness with a spicy bite. I ordered the lamb chops which were tender and cooked perfectly. It was served with sausage, white beans and kale. I always have their romaine salad which is seared on the wood fire for a moment and had a smoky taste. The service was excellent including the hostesses who graciously changed our table at the last moment. "

  • "First time I had tried Smoke on Cherry Street. Not a very large place, so definitely make reservations. Wine list was OK, not too large or too small and had a fairly good selection. The bacon jam appetizer was a delightful surprise...the right mixture of salty and sweet with the pungent bite of goat's cheese. The menu on Open Table was NOT the menu presented at dinner. Ordered the ribeye and my fiancee' ordered the Halibut. Steak was cooked properly, but was NOT a $40+ steak. Dessert was OK, but portion sizes are a bit chintzy on all items. My fiancee' is not a big eater and made a comment that we might have to stop somewhere on the way home to eat dinner. HAHAHA. Overall, not a bad experience, but not a good value for the price."

  • "My date and I went there on a Tuesday night and were pleasantly surprised that they werent too packed. It was nice and quiet inside. Our waitress was very attentive and was very knowledgable on the menu- she described several dishes to us and made good recommendations (it was our first time at Smoke). I ordered the Ribeye, rare. It had a good smokey flavor and was cooked properly. It wasn't quite as tender, and had a bit more grisle than I expected for a $40 steak, but overall it was good. The mashed potatoes and okra were great. My date had the Grilled scallops and she said they were excellent. Overall the restaurant was great, will definitely be back as they have a diverse menu with several other dishes I would like to try."

  • "Love the complimentary parking, food was awesome although I say I think they need some more selection. If They get some more on the menu and have their waiters Check on you a little more often then they are a 5 star restaraunt in my book. Good dining experience."

  • "I have dined here several times & have never been disappointed. Excellent food & presentation, attentive wait staff w/o being annoying. They now have valet parking which is a very nice touch as the parking is a little tight. So convenient to downtown. They chge the menu seasonally. Just a great place for an evening out w friends."
