It was a lovely evening. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the evening. The food was good, the music excellent. The clubs approach to putting the focus on the music while the sets are going is great.

Good club to listen jazz sessions. I booked a table directly from Italy, after surfing te web searching for a good place to eat and listed to music. My father is a jazz enthusiast, so this is the place!. Pro: quality of food, ambiance, music. Cons: there's no space between tables, so it's not suitable for a romantic evening.

I like the concept of Jazz and dinner...but to pay an extra 30 for the show plus food is a bit much to me. Especially when the food is not that good. Food was average at best. My husband had the lemon chicken...it was bland...with no good flavor, I had the salmon, which came in a clam sauce...which was just ok. We was there when it first opened so we ate at 5... we did not have to pay for floor show as we made sure we was gone by 7pm. The staff was very nice and friendly and my service was great. Possibly just a table charge would be more ideal...but I guess on the upper west side, money aint a problem.

Wanted a fun different venue to celebrate my birthday. I found it in Smoke. Went for the Sunday brunch. The complimentary muffins were tasty. I had the Spanish Benedict. The potato and chorizo hash was delicious. I would have preferred the poached eggs to have been cooked a little less, but overall the dish was quite tasty. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, yet sophisticated. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. As an added bonus, Annette St Johns sang a jazzy rendition of happy birthday.

My wife and I had 8:30 reservations. We arrived, ordered wine, appetizers, and meal. Music set began. Ate. Jazz group was amazing, played 3 maybe 4 songs. Set ended. Had ordered a 2nd glass of wine towards end of set. Wine was about half gone. Host was VERY rude and told us they had a group of 10 arriving and we needed to leave. I politely asked if we could finish our wine first and was escorted to a table behind the sound table in the back of the bar. Meanwhile one table for 2 was left open near the stage. When I complained the same host escorted us out of the place. I spent $300 on dinner, drinks and the show for 2 people and they escorted us out. The $38 per person cover ONLY gets you a 1 hour set and then you must leave

The singing by Annette St. John, backed by a wonderful trio, was extraordinary. A well-known jazz trumpet player stopped by and accepted Ms. St. John's invitation to join in on the playing. What a delight. The food was surprisingly good, and the service was friendly and fast. This was my first time at Smoke. Ms. St. John sings there every Sunday mid-day and I will definitely return.

First, we walked in and the ambience and cozy seating was perfect for a jazz club. Then we were seated and given our menus; I've never seen so many options for prix fixe menu. We ordered and the portions were extremely generous and the food really good. My son got the burger, which I tasted and it was juicy and yummy. I had the jambalaya, which was full of sausage, shrimp and huge pieces of lobster. We couldn't finish them. Our waiter was wonderful; which I could remember his name. The band that night was excellent and the seating is great throughout. Will go back next time I'm in town! Will tell everyone who's going too!

I know Smoke's popularity is accredited to the seasoned performers for which you have to buy tickets but I was interested in the after hours jam session where musicians come and improvise with their own instruments/vocals and it was absolutely phenomenal because of the passion, good vibes, and not to mention the jazz music that filled the room. I came for my birthday with a small group of friends (7 including myself) and we ordered drinks and a surplus of delicious food to keep our hands busy while we chatted and listened to the music. Also important to note, it was my 23rd birthday so the environment at Smoke is very welcoming and enjoyable for all ages! The service was also wonderfully accommodating. Thanks for a beautiful night, Smoke!

I like to sit up front and listen and look. I do not talk during a set nor do I appreciate others that do. Smoke encourages quiet and respect for the performers. This is exactly what I am looking for. In addition, one can sit in comfortable chairs and enjoy a delicious meal and libation just before the set begins - again, perfect for me. Finally, Smoke appears to keep the Steinway in good shape. What else could one ask for? It is the perfect jazz club for me.

This jazz club is worth a visit for a special night out, if you don't mind a very cozy atmosphere. First about the jazz. The four piece ensemble was absolutely outstanding and the volume was perfect for the size of the restaurant. The food will in no way disappoint you. From the rack of lamb to the sliders. The service is adequate and experienced. Expect to pay "premium", which may be on par considering its location and advance reservation is a must, along with "day of" confirmation, as the dining area is quaint. Keep in mind, there may be a "set charge" as dining accompanies the entertainment. Enjoy

I recently relocated from the Upper West Side back to the Baltimore/Washington Area, but absolutely loved this place. The food is amazing as always and by far the best that you will get for the price at any Jazz/Supper club. The host were very nice and accomadating, and even accomdated a specific request that I , for the most part, did think was feasible (A+++). The music and accoustics was awesome and to this day, it still feels like neighborhood bar rather than a huge club, which made it amazing. I am probably the Smoke Jazz and Supper club's biggest ambassador outside of New York City. And with DC's rivals like Blues Alley, This is for me, work the Trip of 95 for. Thank You Smoke's for never dissapointing me.

I went to see Mike LeDonne for the regular Tuesday Organ Night. As always the music was world class and high energy. The food here is just as great. One of my favorites is the Salmon served a broth with fresh clams and chorizo. The cheesecake topped with chocolate is simple, yet sinfully rich and delicious. One of the best I've had anywhere. Smoke is the place to be for great food and jazz!

We attended Gregory Generets final concert. He & his band were in fine spirits as was the audience and the entertainment was terrific. The service was a tad slow due to the crowd but friendly and efficient. Caeser salad with anchovies was bland unless you had anchovy in your forkful. Brussell sprouts side was copious and delicious. Specialty drinks were tasty esp. Mojito! I would come back and split the side and bananas foster. I wish they could make a 'real' foster instead of a bread foster but it'd be hard to do during a performance.
