A word from SmithHouse
SmithHouse decor includes antique brick arches, copper lighting fixtures, flat screen tvs, and oversized comfy leather booths, five with built-in table-tap beer systems.
In this day and age, beer has gone beyond the standard 3 or 4 national brand choices on tap at your local restaurant or bar. Today beer is becoming a topic of discussion everywhere. We used to go to wine tastings and learn to pair it with food. Lookout wine... Craft beer has taken pairing to a entire new level. and one of sophistication.

Great place to catch a game with a few friends or a large group of people. The food is pricier than it should be especially with the small portions you are given, but if you're going for some drinks and happy hour deals rather than dinner, this is the place.

Atmosphere was very cool with an awesome vibe when you walk in. Extensive beer list and a good looking bbq menu. We weren't able to try dessert BC we didn't know how long it would take. The service was awful. Didn't check on us, had to flag him down to have our order even taken, and flag him down several more times for refills. The food tasted great, the vibe was cool but I don't plan on returning or recommending it to others...unless I sit at the bar.

The food was not good. The burger i ordered was pink when i specifically asked no pink. The ribs my friends were having were not great. They forgot to give my friend her salad. They told us they didnt have mashed potatoes and then half way into our meal they said they did. The fire alarm went off 4 times.

Went her for early dinner around 6:00 on a weeknight. Perhaps it was where we were seated but it was VERY loud from the bar area which made it hard to talk to my companion. Also, it seems they changed the menu since I was there last and really focusing on the bbq and "bar food." What we had was very good (boneless chicken wings, burger) but I remember there being some more elegant choices when I used to come here for lunch. I would still go back and would like to try their bbq selections.

The SmithHouse is a good staple for easy acces good comfort food and a good beer list. The last time I was there the service was pretty lousy. I like this spot from a convenience point of view. and want it to be good. To that point, called the Manager he was very responsive on the feed back. I look forward to going again and hoping for improvements.

There is a happy hour from 5-7 and TV's everywhere to watch the football games. Lots of great energy watching the game. Our waiter was great although we had to wait awhile to order our dessert. I had the BBQ ribs which were too fatty but the sauce was wonderful. The blackberry crumble with vanilla ice cream was yummy!

Our meal and service was good, but the entire experience was ruined by a booth full of drunken, rowdy hockey fans. Screaming and swearing. Rude and obnoxious. This was our go to restaurant on saturday nights. then they started messing with the menu. The menu is now in its fourth iteration since this very large neighborhood sports bar opened. It is upscale as sports bars go but they just could not seem to find a formula for the food. They recently brought in a known chef from Chicago and he has transformed the menu into a southern style BBQ. There were four of us and we each tried a different entre and the results were good. I tried the BBQ sampler of pulled pork, grilled sausage and brisket and it was very good. The others enjoyed shrimp and grits and other items they really enjoyed. We are going back again pretty quickly.

I've driven by many times and was very hopeful when friends wanted to dine together before catching a movie across the way. The place is pleasantly arranged with convenient parking and reservations. Walking in, the warm decor of wood and the booth we were seated at was cozy, equipped with two taps. We were given menus with the beers available and food to dine, but unfortunately that is where the welcoming stopped as all the promise of a great event ended there. We were allured by the oysters and poutine. The first was unavailable and the second had my friends wondering why I got excited to see it on the menu. If you want a place with brews and burgers to watch the game, this place is great. But sadly a lot of others places do t

We were there for the NCAA basketball championship, and the place was packed. The service started out fine. However, as time went on, it took 45 minutes for our appetizers to arrive, and our food took at least that long as well. We would have ordered more food and drinks, but since it took forever, we didn't. The menu was new, which I didn't like. The BBQ Trio Sandwich sounded like a hearty meal, and I asked the waitress if it was big enough to share. She said yes, so two of us couples split two. We were sorely disappointed when our food came out. My husband would have downed that and the never-ordered additional food. They ran out of pulled pork for our friend's Memphis burger. In all, we were disappointed with the experience.

I must have had a bad night, but their menu of beers, highly touted and expansive, was inaccurate--I asked for three things that we not available. My meal was fine, but both of my friend's orders were screwed up, and the sandwich my friend had was tasteless and just bad, to the point that he returned it. When we got the receipt, the sandwich was on the bill but they took it off immediately. The service was good--people were nice, the space is kinda cool, but the food wasn't all that notable, to be honest. I may go back again to try it out but we'll see.

I've been to SmithHouse at least a dozen times over the past 12-18 months, and truly enjoyed it, however the food, service and general experience has really tumbled rapidly downward in the past 2 months. Specific examples include the televisions completely going out on a NFL Sunday and the restaurant not doing anything for the patrons who sat (eating & drinking for hours)waiting for them to fix the problem, the "signature fries" not being the "signature fries" and the shrimp po'boy now using bay shrimp instead of the larger, better quality shrimp in the past. This used to be a place I was very confident in suggesting to meet friends for a meal or drinks at, and now it is someplace I'd probably avoid.
