I chose Smith Bros over options like The Keg because the food is equal and I don't have to put up with slatternly waitresses in an uncomfortably plastic ambiance. I choose it over Barberian's because Smith's is obviously more affordable. Martinis were very nice. The sampler of locally sourced beers accompanying appetizers, wonderful, they do have great brews on tap. Steaks were as good as one would expect from any but the most exclusive steakhouses (Yeah, Barberians, Tom Jones' etc. are better, but must be at their pricing), and were well matched by the small but decently well chosen wine list. Love the layout and design inside with the open concept kitchen. I was part of a group of 8 people, and we sat at a nice, long and spacious table in the middle of the restaurant in front of the kitchen. The food was great! I had steak and a taste of the prime rib which were cooked perfectly. My only complaint would be my baked potato wasn't fluffy, but that's my personal preference. Tasty beer selection too. Our waiter, Adam, was amazing. We had a big group and you could tell he was putting in a lot of effort to make sure everyone in the group was happy (without hovering too much at the same time).
