S&W dry ages their own beef and cooks it to perfection. The waiter sold me on the bone-in ribeye, and while that was way too much food for me, I ate every bite of it and would do it again! My husband had the filet mignon, and again, it was cooked exactly the way he ordered it and cleaned his plate. We shared the hashbrowns, a S&W specialty and if we had been able to finish them, we would have! A pleasant surprise for a side dish. Reservations were honored promptly. We had an excellent waiter who was jovial and willing to give his recommendations when he heard us discussing our choices. NY steakhouses can sometimes be very stuffy in regard to the service. This was not true here. We wished we had more room in our stomachs for more because we didn't want to stop eating. Of course it was a bit pricey but it was to be expected and worth every penny!!! The wait staff was so attentive and informative. We felt very welcomed and appreciated. In this economy where discretionary income isn't overflowing I felt we had a true value to the dinner and experience. I took my 14 year old son for his birthday and he loved the spit and polish service and the history of the place. Male servers are professionals and there are always interesting people to watch. Great evening, from the welcome right through to when we left. The food was fantastic, and eveyone enjoyed diving into the Smith's Bouquet starter. The waiter was helpful and knowledgeable and made ordering a great meal easy.

My friend enjoyed her Caesar Salad, Crab Cakes and the Coconut Layer Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream (it appeared everyone in the restaurant was getting that dessert). She noted that the salad was not overdone with excessive dressing. I had the Fried Calamari, the previously mentioned steak, the Chocolate Mousse Cake and the hashed browns. As to be expected, service was suberb, portions were generous and everything was cooked to perfection.
