  • "We had our Wedding Anniversary celebration just the 2 of us and had a very nice, romantic dinner! Strongly recommend this place for any special occasion."

  • "Although a Miami native this was my first visit. I had very high expectations from all the reviews and recommendations. The ambiance and food were outstanding! I had the filet oscar and was in heaven with every bite. But was extremely disappointed with the service. Very impersonal and lack of communication. I know we live in a mostly Hispanic city but feel we had some language barriers with our server. He seemed to be a retired age man who didn't seem too interested in his job. I guess I was looking for service to match their high caliber food and reputation."

  • "....in comparence to other times I went there. The request for an outside table for 6 was not honored. The waiter was very slow and was hard to talk to, due to language. He was rather old and not friendly. Food was nice."

  • "We always end our Miami trips with a late lunch on the deck at Smith & Wollensky. It's the best! Friendly, fun service. Great food. Huge portions and if you sit on the terrace, great views of the water and a breeze. My favorite steak place in town!"
    Dined on 4/8/2014
  • "The food, service, view and company could not have been better. We thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary dinner while watching cruise ships, pelicans and a very tame feral cat community. We love food and delicious wine which S & W fully delivered. We were also missing our MD cat family and was pleased to see that the community is responsible and gentle with their wild occupants. The experience and food were incomparable! Can't wait to go back. Ask for Gabriel - he is a class act, very professional and fun."

  • "Be sure to get a table outdoors by the water, it is certainly worth the wait and the views are unreal. From the cruise ships going by to taking pictures by the rocks you can't beat it. 6-6:30 is a perfect reservation time to catch the sunset! Will come back everytime I'm in Miami!"

  • "MY WIFE AND I HAVE DINED AT THIS RESTAURANT SEVERAL TIMES WHILE HERE IN MIAMI. THIS EVENING WAS CERTAINLY NOT SPECIAL AS IT HAD BEEN BEFORE. ALTHOUGH WE WERE GREETED IN A MOST COURTEOUS MANNER BY THE HOST AND EVEN AFTER WE SWITCHED TABLES TO GET A TABLE THAT WE COULD HEAR OURSELVES TALK. SERVICE AT THAT STATION WAS AT BEST FAIR NOT GREAT. THE WAITER DRIPPED SOME LIQUID ON MY FRIENDS SHIRT AND DID NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE IT. HE WAS CONSPICUOUSLY ABSENT AND CERTAINLY NOT ATTENTIVE. MY WIFE ORDERED THE CRAB CAKES AS A MAIN DISH AFTER A LONG WAIT IT WAS SERVED TO HER ONLY PARTIALLY COOKED AND WHEN SHE ASKED THE WAITER TO TAKE IT BACK HE DID AND THEN RETURNED IT TO HER NO LONGER CRISP BUT SOGGY. WE DID NOT GET A BANG FOR FOR THE BUCKS WE PAID."

  • "great scenery, we sat on the patio and it was really beautiful. The food was good until i got my steak. I ordered the long bone ribeye rare and it was cooked mr to m. What was really upsetting is when i asked the waiter about it, he contested me saying that it was rare and just cooked more on the end. I work in a fine dining steak house in Boston myself and i cut it all a way threw to show him. He really just should have taken it back in my opinion, instead of making me feel as though i was wrong!. It kind of threw off the rest of my dining experience, eating a steak not my liking."

  • "The Host was very friendly and responded very quickly and proper when there was a light storm menace. He properly acommote the most of the people that was at the outside of the restarant very fast at the inside. Congratulations"

  • "If you like steaks and can afford to splurge, this is the place for you. Highly recommend the bone in ribeye. Ordered it medium & it was perfect. Deep pink throughout. Meat was perfectly seasoned, juicy and flavorful. The truffle mac & cheese is wonderful; however pass on the creamed spinach as it was ordinary and came a bit cold. Wine list is notable with an offering of half bottles. The cold seafood app that came with lobster, oysters, crab, and jumbo shrimp, & clams was excellent but pricey so be prepared. Overall experience was nice, the service was a bit slow. Would recommend restaurant if someone was looking for a top notch meal at a steep price :-)"

  • "Perfectly located along the main jetty of South Beach, it has wonderful views of the myriad of ships as they come and go. The food will not disappoint as their cuts of meat and macaroni and truffles with cheese are phenomenal. Definitely recommend for special occasions and the the finer sections of South Beach are a nice romantic walk away along the water."

  • "I was there with 3 male friends who go out once a month for a meal at a great venue. The Bar was very disappointing, with a limited beer list(no Heineken) and no munchies. The steak was less than average according to my friends. I had the Tuna and it was good. For the price we paid, I expected much better. Our group will not be returning."

  • "Made Reservations months ago for a nice table it was a Bday , I re confirmed reservation at 5pm , day of (Monday) n reiterated we wanted a view . We ve dined before at this restrnt,we knew what to ask for ahead of time. Arrived ,told us, outside tables are 2hr wait , gave us to a booth,in a narrow hallway, nr kitchen,no view, basically that's all they had left. Furious, I walked into main dining room and there was a perfect window table .they said that was reserved for someone else so I told them ours was a reservation too from months ago so we sat down. I guess they punished us w bad service n worst $51rib eye(all grizzle on a bone cut, really). Mgr was nice, saw or struggle and replaced w Filet Migon ,was good. Needs better service!"

  • "If you enjoy S&W for its scenic views of the mouth of Miami Harbor, or for its great food and service, you may want to add a visit during its annual Wine Week in March. Various vintners are represented daily for lunch providing a good selection of white, red & sparkling wines to taste. For a reasonable fee ($20 this year) you can add the sampling to your lunch experience. It is great fun and some of the representatives are quite knowledgeable about the wines they are serving. I think this event occurs at other S&W locations nationally."

  • "Historic although not "old". Located in South Beach next to waterways. If you go on Sat afternoon you will see the cruise ships depart"

  • "Normally Smith and Wollensky is one of my and my mom's favorite restaurants. However, this time they dropped the ball. We were told the Soup of the Day was Tomato Basil. So we ordered it. However, turns out the Soup of the Day was Asparagus Soup. (wouldn't have ordered that if we knew that was the option). We also ordered Tomato and Burrata. This never came. My mom ordered the rib eye, they brought her out: Veal Chop. When she first tried to tell them the dish looked wrong, she was told: It's just called veal chop, but it really is rib eye. Of course on first bite it was proven that it was NOT rib eye. Quite disappointing and definitely not something I would expect out of that high a caliber restaurant."

  • "i have to say that this wine week was not the best, i have attended wine for the past ten years and the quality and quantity of the wines was poor the service was the worse i have had in a restaurant if you are going to have the wine reps the need to bring enough wines to support all customers for that day not claim at 1;30PM that you are running low on the wine to make a long story short it was not a good day i was taking out to lunch one of my most important customers."

  • "Food was good, wine plentiful, service cordial, view magnificent."

  • "Great for people watching. The view encompasses the park and the channel, with cruise ships and many other marine vehicles constantly passing by. The food is very good - we had a filet and a cobb salad topped with ahi tuna. Filet was perfectly cooked and as was the tuna, which was also very fresh. The wait staff was professional, attentive and efficient. The only small negative is that the valet parking, which is essential, is a bit pricey compared to most other high end restaurants."

  • "My wife and I have been to the place about five times, for special occasions and to entertain friends or clients. We have found that we can count on the consistency of the Smith and Wollensky experience: delicious and elegantly served food, and friendly yet formal service. One could not ask for a better dining experience by the sea. After the meal, we also enjoy a much needed walk on the beautiful walkway right behind the restaurant."

  • "Me & my wife celebrated her birthday here & it didn't disappoint. Although we didn't get an outdoor table (40 minute wait even with reservations), that was fine & we were seated indoors immediately at a verry nice table. I've dined here a few times & had told my wife about it, so this was her choice for her birthday. She came away very satisfied & happy with her choice."

  • "Great foot, vaste wine selection and even greater service,. But I personally like to see, what I am eating, due to the dimmed lights and the wooden interior, this was a little bit hard."

  • "The restaurant may have been upscale in its day, but now it is in need of an update. The lighting is a bright yellow, the decor is outdated. For the price of the steaks, there should at least be a candle on the tables. The service was really slow, took over an hour to get our main entree. The server never refilled our wine glasses. My husband and I were hoping for a romantic dinner and were greatly disappointed. We also noticed unhappy customers at other tables."
    Dined on 3/1/2014
  • "Almost everything was fine except that the entree took about 45min -1 hr. The server was aware and told his GM too as he came to our table and apologized for the delay. At first we ordered a Caesar salad and it also took a little bit as the server was shocked it was not brought out yet. The GM apologized for the delay of the food and said the chef will come to our table shortly and also mentioned that dessert is in the house. When our server asked if we would like dessert we said yes and he gave us some good recommendations. All the dessert looked delicious, we ordered the chocolate molten cake, awesome dessert. Another issue was when we received the bill the dessert was not on the house. We paid the bill and left. The chef never came."
