Diner Reviews
  • "We enjoyed our dining experience very much. The waiters were attentive and prompt. The atmosphere was exceptional. Every need of our group of nine was met. My mother enjoyed her 80th birthday complete with a large piece of chocolate cake which we all shared. The restaurant was a highlight of her evening."

  • "Steaks were disappointing. Underseasoned, and bone-in rib eye overcooked. Sides were just okay. Service was average for a place of that caliber."

  • "We enjoyed the attentive service as well as the opportunity to escape the noise of the Strip. We all enjoyed the salads and sides, especially the truffle mac and cheese and grilled asparagus. The steaks were tender but not very flavorful. A little salt before grilling?"

  • "We had a table in the kitchen. During the dinner we had the possibility to see the activities there. This special kitchen table in a smaller room had been reserved in advance. We had been glad to get this reservation. Our guests had been very impressed by the location as well as food and service. I definitely will try to go there with business partners again."

  • "Excellent starter, great wine list and very good steak. I would recommend this to anyone. Only one thing turned the evening a little - another customer was there, pretending to be an upper-class Brit with his partner. He was wearing clothes full of holes and complained about everything. Sent the shared starter back and the shared main course. It wasn't so much what he did but how he did it. He almost threw the plates at the waiter. Clearly he was only there to collect a free meal. There was nothing wrong with either my starter or main. I felt sort for the waiter and manager having to deal with this. They should have chucked him out."

  • "No trip to Las Vegas is complete with out a stiff martini and a good steak. S&W is one of several steak houses that don't have an L.A. location, so I try to get there whenever I am in Vegas. The martinis were perfect and twice the size of your average L.A. pour, the wine list is great and also very reasonably priced. I've had better seafood towers elsewhere, but the fresh horseradish would cure the worst of colds. A long bone-in dry rubbed dry aged ribeye with bone marrow butter was out of this world. Root vegetables roasted in duck fat, truffle mac and cheese, and creamed spinach made the meal complete. I probably gained 5 pounds from this one meal, but it was worth it, every bite was a taste of heaven. Why can't they open one up in L.A.?"

  • "Had a great dinner while in Las Vegas. Appetizers were great!. Had steak tartare and crab cake. And the steak were cooked to perfection and delicious. Service: impeccable. Will make a point to visit again on my next trip to Vegas."

  • "S&W is by far the best steakhouse I have ever been to. From the atmosphere to the staff to the fods, everything about this place is top notch. A must stop for Las Vegas visits."

  • "Well done overall. Great service, food was excellent and of good quality."

  • "Excellent stakes. Crowded and noisy bar. Made reservation in advanced but they made us wait more than an hour to be finally seated. Very rude. Good service once seated. Will not recommend it."

  • "This was my second time dining there and it was a great meal per usual."

  • "The excellent service is surpassed only by the amazing food. Our group of 10 left more than totally satisfied. I'll be back again next time I'm in Vegas"

  • "This is the first time I have had a grisley filet. We had three filets....all with grisel. One filet was undercooked, sent back and came back over cooked on the outside but okay in the middle. A lot of steak thrown out due to burnt exterior. Our waiter did recommend the ribeye which in hindsight we wish we would chosen but we almost always buy filets when eating out because we like the fact they do not have grisel. If you cannot offer a quality filet, I would remove them from the menu. The best part of the dinner was the bread which was delicious. Mac and cheese as a side was also good but aspargus was overcooked and limp...it could not be cut but rather rolled like spagatti."

  • "we have eaten here twice in a year and would highly recommend it...steaks to perfection and fab service ...will go back any time we travel to Vegas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • "The service and wine list met or exceeded expectations; however, the steak was over cooked and lacked flavor compared to other steakhouses. We had a great table in a private room looking into the kitchen. I might give S&W another chance, but I am not sure considering the depth of offerings in steakhouse restaurants."

  • "I have been a fan of S&W for over ten years, bringing customers, colleagues and even large company events to the various locations across the US. This last visit in Las Vegas was a disappointment. I would guess that cost-cutting is leading to lower quality meat, but their prices have increase significantly over the past 5 years so that cannot be the main reason. The service was excellent, the ambiance good and the overall experience very pleasing to my guest, but I cannot justify returning when there are so many other steakhouses that offer a similar experience with better quality steaks - after all, that I why I go to a steakhouse."

  • "This restaurant used to be great. The food quality was horrible and it should not have the Smith and Wollensky name."

  • "Each year my wife and I attend a conference in Las Vegas and we make sure to include dinner at Smith & Wollensky's. Hard to believe but each year we seem to have an even better experience. We make a point of requesting to have Nick as our waiter and he is the key to making the dinner so memorable. Make sure you ask for him."

  • "This was my first time to this restaurant, food was spot on! Steaks were cooked perfect and it was interesting to hear how they age there steaks. Sides are family style. We had 3 sides for 5 people and it was way more than enough. Service was excellent."

  • "Your ribeyes are fantastic! Also, the service is great, and I really like the atmosphere. Overall, I would recommend your establishment to anybody!"

  • "Our steaks were a bit charred but the ambiance and salads, bread and mashed potatoes were delightful. We were the 1st in the restaurants so we saw/heard more of the behind the scenes than i think we should have. We didn't return or complain about our plates as we just aren't "those people". Would like to see a Smith & Wollensky open in the Charlotte North Carolina Area"

  • "I've never been disappointed eating at S&W. Food is great, as is the service. It had better be great, as it's expensive."

  • "Great service and wonderful food. Spendy but that is to be expected in this kind of steakhouse. I would recommend this place to a friend and we will definitely be back!"

  • "We usually eat here when it is a special occasion or when friends are visiting Las Vegas. After our meal is finished, we always walk out of the restaurant with smile on our faces! Great Service and Great Food! Really nice for special occasions with friends and family!"

  • "A classic. One of the places on our March Madness rotation!"
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "Excellent ambience. The bar is cozy, but allowed for sports viewing. The front room for diners was cozy as well, but you will soon discover a back room and upstairs. We were told the restaurant can hold 650 diners! The menu included top rate seafood and prime meats, as well as an extensive wine list and cocktail menu."

  • "14 guys showed up for a steak dinner and they didn't leave disappointed. The service, food quality and portions were all perfect. Everything was ready and they were very prepared."

  • "The food was execeptional with service to match. Been to branch in New York too and Las Vegas was just as good. If you like a steak this is the place to go. Not cheap but as always you get what you pay for in this life"

  • "My steak was over cooked sent it back the next one was so under cooked it was cold in the middle. The two lady's at the table also had fellets whitch were cooked properly but had a old meat taste. Overall dining experience was very bad, don't go. When you pay the prices they charge you expect better."

  • "The food was beyond excellent! The wait staff is very dry. This is Vegas, wait staff, lighten up! Relax and enjoy your customers. It will bring you more tips! The table and atmosphere was good and the steak melts in your mouth! Worth the money! It was just what we were looking for!!"

  • "Too many great places in Vegas for this to rate too highly- mediocre piece of steak with no sides at all for over $50- the service was very good but the pricing was too high for the just so-so food . ."

  • "Enjoyable meal! Great bread, the truffled Mac and cheese is wonderful! Will return!"
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "We had a great time. The service was excellent. The Mac & Cheese was the star of the show. I have been to many steakhouses. Was the this the best steak I have ever had? No, but they made up for it in many ways."

  • "We went for the Las Vegas Restaurant Week - Three Square charity $40 prix fixe dinner and were very impressed. It was a pleasant evening so we sat outside on the terrace adjacent to Las Vegas Boulevard across from the Monte Carlo, and watched the flow of people walking by. We had the 10 ounce Fillet Mignon steaks which were cooked to perfection and piping hot. The meal included soup or salad, so I had their signature French pea soup and my spouse had the tomato and lettuce wedge salad which was huge. We ordered a single side of sautéed mushrooms which was more than we could finish. We had one each of the included dessert, which was delicious coconut cream cake or chocolate layer cake. The service was exceptional. We'll go again."

  • "My favorite steak house in Las Vegas. Food & service are consistently impeccable. Save room for their chocolate cake - it is to die for!"

  • "Great steak. Really great steak. The coffee and cocoa rub and the gorgonzola were our choices and they were excellent. The Wollensky salad is amazing. Bacon chunks and delicious squared potatoes instead of croutons. The only downside was the entrance in an alley. Not good."
