Went for a birthday celebration with my two brothers. Started well, appetizers were very good. One ribeye (mine) was excellent. One was "fair" but the third long bone ribeye was very tough, and not much flavor. My brother sent it back, second one arrived same way. He could not eat it. Managers/waiters tried to help, and service over all was good. But, we should have paid for two steaks rather than three. I have been to S&W before, and it was outstanding. This was an off night and disappointing....

Went there to celebrate a birthday while in Vegas, and had a great experience. It's more upscale, so skip the casual wear and get a little more dressed up. Staff was wonderful, courteous and prompt with our requests...Will definitely return when I want an upscale steakhouse experience in Vegas again.

I was looking forward to my Smith and Wollensky experience, given that I've seen the one in NYC and heard through the years how great it is. We wanted to eat outside of our hotel so I chose this restaurant. The service was great, but that was about it. There was no wine (by the glass) cheaper than $12 and no steak less than 10 oz. . I do not need anything larger than 6 oz., so I was disappointed that I had to order something larger. The bread was delicious and our side baked potato was massive! Presentation of the potato was nice (bridge of shredded cheese, sour cream, bacon, and butter). However, the steak was almost inedible. I requested medium rare, it was cooked medium. The part that made it unappetizing was the grease. It appeared that melted butter was being poured over the steak before being put on a plate in front of me, but as soon as they set it down in front of me, an overwhelming smell of burnt grease came over me. It reminded me of when you cook bacon too long. I did not say anything to our server or manager because that embarrasses my husband. He (my husband) mentioned that his steak was 'OK.' He said it was tender, but thought he was getting bernaise sauce on his Oscar style steak, not hollandaise. Overall, we were disappointed that we had to pay $150 for a meal that we were so looking forward to.

3 out of 4 of us had a great meal. My friend and I split the 14oz filet and it was fantastic. Oddly, the 10oz filet my husband ordered had gristle. For a steak house, the salmon was good. As a result of some slowness in the kitchen, the manager treated us to dessert. Caution - If you choose the chocolate cake, it is larger enough for the table, but it is delicious!

This is my second time to visit the Las Vegas location and will be my last. The crab cake appetizer should be taken off of the menu. I have never seen a crab cake so small. It is not even big enough for one person and way overpriced. I have had far better crab cakes literally three times this size for less money other places. I wanted to sit in the normal dining area, but at 10:00 PM they only allowed bar side seating. This is Las Vegas. The size of the cakes they offer for dessert have shrunk over the years and are not as good as they once were. The dry aged, Cajun rib-eye and the truffled mac and cheese were the only "good" things. I suppose if you go and skip the crab cake and dessert it isn't such a horrible place. TIP: Do not pay to park in the parking deck adjacent to the restaurant-they have a parking lot in the back.

Fabulous dinner for all 5 of us! Absolutely mouth-watering. Crisply fresh crunching Bleu Cheese Wedge started things off quckly followed by a tantilizing trouffle mac and cheese that accompanied my perfectly prepared Gorganzola encrusted Filet, all cylinders firing on the taste buds with every sip of my nicely blended Malbec!

Overall, not a bad experience, but not the service level we would have expected from a notable steakhouse. Food was great. Service was poor because our waiter was assigned several tables including a large group of 8+ people. When the group arrived, our service declined dramatically. I would venture a guess that they were understaffed when we dined. My glass sat empty for too long before being refilled. When we were finished with our meal, and the plates were removed, it took 15 minutes just to be presented with the bill. Once I gave my credit card, the payment process was fine. Also, if you need some additional space to move around the dining room (ie - using a walker or wheelchair), you need to avoid this location.

I've eaten at S & W at least 8 times in the past. Been there when it's packed. Been there when it was light. The service was always great! I've always been shown steaks I could choose from. I ordered the "dry" aged rib.It used to delicious. This time I got a grstily overly fat piece steak. Didn't know what it was before I got it. It was from the large end. We were a party of 3. One of our people at the table ordered the filet and the other ordered filet oscar. The filet oscar order was never put in. The waiter lied and said it would only be a minute. That stretched to 7 or 8 minutes and the oscar finally arrived. Our steaks were barely warm. Waiter offered nothing except a big piece of cake to the table. Too bad. Won't ever be coming back.

The restaurant setting was great. Our table was ready when we arrived. The service was very attentive and most of all the food was AMAZING! We were celebrating my husbands 50th birthday and had family and friends attend from different parts of the world. They gave my husband a card and a cake with a candle which I thought was a lovely touch. We all chose different steak dishes and they were all cooked perfectly as requested. We had a. Iced seafood starter which was reccomnded by our waiter and it waif lupus as promised! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The best steakhouse in Vegas.

From previous visits to S&W around the U.S., this visit was my least favorite. While the food was OK, we weren't "wowed" as we have been in the past. The wrong appetizer was brought, spoiled wine, and a less than perfectly prepared steak all added to the disappointment. Everything was promptly corrected, but I expected more based upon experience. Again visit was OK but it should have been better.

Well this must have been a bad day for the folks at Smith & Wollensky. My wife's filet was not very good, poor taste and texture, in fact it was returned and the replacement did not meet expectations from previous visits in Vegas and the former location in New Orleans. Just was not 'mouth- watering' melt in your mouth dishes. I ordered the bone-in rib eye and again just did not have the great experience from past visits. As usual our drinks were fabulous!

I had the dry-aged ribeye steak (recommended by the waiter.) I have eaten steak all over the world, and have to say this beats them all. It was a perfect medium rare, perfectly aged, and perfect tasting. No "spoiled" taste tht can sometimes come with aged beef. I also highly recommend the side dish of root vegitables cooked in duck fat. A wonderful accompanyment, and enough for two to split. We could have skipped the wild mushroom side dish, the ones I cook at home are far better.

We often visit Las Vegas in October to celebrate family birthdays. This was our first visit to Smith and Wollensky. We were greeted quickly as our taxi pulled up. It took a few minutes for us to be greeted as the hostess was looking away and didnot seem to hear us come in.We enjoyed a jumbo shrimp cocktail and it was delicious. Overall our steaks were fine almost rare instead of medium rare as ordered. The mac and cheese was very good as recommended by other reviews. Nice restaurant just not a wow experience. Also upon returning to our hotel where the lighting was better we noticed our waiter had charged us for a drink that he replaced with another. Paid for both..not typical for restaurants if this caliber
