Diner Reviews
  • "We had a small family get together over the weekend and everything was wonderful. The service was impeccable. The steaks were some of the best we have ever had...We will be spending a lot more birthday celebrations here."

  • "This place is the best S&W in the Nation! I have been to 5 other S&Ws, Columbus is the best!! It has that big town feel with the small town charm!! I love this place!!"

  • "I have been coming here with my family for over 10 years. My last trip was just bad. We came in for Lunch at 110 in the afternoon, ordered by 120 and got our food at 2pm. We noticed that the flowers were no longer fresh and were fake. We were told, they don't have the money for real flowers."

  • "Bottom line, this has turned into another Easton scene (and I don't mean that in a good way). When you're spending $175 on dinner for 2, you should be overly satisfied. Period. Service was slow, the AC was broken, and food was barely warm. It's not even close to being worth your time or money. Have a cocktial at their bar if you insist on going and then head to Hyde Park or Mitchells."

  • "We sat outside and had a great time. All of the servers were excellent! We had Brad and he was a lot of fun. All of the dishes are oversized and great for sharing. The cold crab appetizer was awesome -- perfect for a hot summer night with a cold drink. The steaks, as always, were fantastic! Overall, a very enjoyable evening."

  • "While this was my first time at this location, I have dine at S&W before and can say that S&W is a can't miss. The staff was great...the food was great... the drinks were great! Big group or romantic two for dinner, this place is can't miss"

  • "Thanks to the Smith and Wollensky family for another wonderful evening. Special thanks to Chip Mullen and Big John for always going above and beyond our every expectations."

  • "Meat was under cooked and of lesser quality than expected"

  • "It's probably cliche for this restaurant, but the quality and flavor of the food were not on par with their prices."

  • "On our first trip to Columbus, Ohio we made a reservation at Smith & Wollensky for myself, my husband, my sister and her husband. The service, atmosphere, and food were Excellent!!! It was a fantastic evening for all of us!!! We will definitely return!"

  • "The service was not quite attentive due to the fact that there was another group of people he was also taking care of. The food took quite a long time. About 45-50 minutes. The steaks were not as good as usual this time."

  • "This was our first visit, celebrating a retirement and birthday. Food fell off carts by our table...constant traffic by our table. We were never asked if we would like a second cocktail, cocktail glasses were removed when empty. We spent over $300 for the four of us. I was so disappointed... I know we will never go back."

  • "My wife and I went to one of our favorite spots for date night and dinner. We sat outside to people watch and had the usual great service. However, the tuna I ordered rare was well done and the spinach sautéed without garlic was loaded with the stuff. It was not S&W finest moment for certain!"

  • "Again visited our favourite spot. Big John (Gonzo) suggested the long bone ribeye and the coffee rubbed filet. Awesome choices, thanks for the reminder about the lobster Mac. Always a big deal that they go out of their way. Thank you Chip, Sean and the entire staff....side note..Thanks Jordan, Best Bartender EVER. "

  • "Never ceases to amaze me the quality and value that goes into my experience. The food/ ambience is superb. Again I thank Chip, Shawn, Ryan, and Arin for their kindness and love. And once more Big Thanks To Big John for unwavering service. You will be hearing from us much more. P.S.....Bring back the T Bone "

  • "I have been eating great meals my entire life but I would have to say that the meal at Smith & Wollensky- Columbus was the best meal I have ever eaten. The service was great and the food was exquisite. If you are looking for the BEST then S&W is the place to go."

  • "My daughter asked to go to celebrate her high school graduation dinner. I knew it was pricey, but wanted to give her a special night. Certainly the food is good -- but not to that level of expense. It just isn't. The waiter was okay -- but I got the sense that he was irritated when we didn't take his recommendations (all of which would mean an even more expensive tab -- as it was the bill was nearly $600 for five people, only three of whom had wine). We had to ask for bread and my children, ages 15-20 (including the graduate) were basically ignored as to drink refills, etc. I felt that they "knew" we weren't the kind of folks who dine at such an expensive restaurant weekly and therefore were not trying that hard."

  • "To start off our experience the waiter dumped our mimosas all over our laps and table, we stood waiting for the mess to be cleaned for far too long before one of the wait staff decided to move us to a new table. No towels were offered to clean the sticky mess off our arms and clothes. It took another 20 minutes to be reserved our drinks. We were then served our Hors d'oeuvre another 20 minutes later. After an additional 40 minutes we were served our brunch entrees, minus the poached eggs! The eggs came 5 minutes later on a separate plate. This is not how Eggs Benedict should be served. The Potatoes were swimming in butter and the whole meal was tasteless. This kind of service is unacceptable. Not a very Happy Mother's Day Brunch for me."

  • "We have eaten here many times and always enjoyed it. This time we went for brunch on Mother's Day. They should stick to what they know how to do. The brunch food was very poor, You would expect more for the price. There was no fruit- just eggs and meat on a plate- poorly done and cold. Service was poor and there was no one in the restaurant at 11:00am. If they are going to take advantage of Mother's Day- do it right. "

  • "I have eaten at this restaurant many times in the past but this was the worst meal I have had in quite some time. All overcooked and flavorless. The fish was inedible and had to be sent back. The strip steak was fatty and chewy. Food at this price should be of exceptional quality. This wasn't even worth it at a third of the price."

  • "Clearly the designer tried to create the look of old NY steakhouse; it still looked like a shopping center restaurant. The steak was excellent and cooked pursuant to order. We ordered four sides. The onion rings: excellent. The mac&cheese: watery, pasta overcooked. The hash browns: mushy mess. The asparagus: roasted correctly and served with a watery hollandaise. We waited an unreasonably long time for dessert which was ultimately comped (without our requesting that). The cake was frozen. The individual portions were huge; other than the size, neither the chocolate nor the coconut cakes were particularly distinguished. Glad I went once--wouldn't go back. Service was overbearing and the wine list was limited and overpriced."

  • "Having just been to Mitchell's Ocean Club the night before, I could truly make comparisons in the meal. Some in my group felt Mitchell's filet was more flavorable and done more to their specification. I enjoyed my filet...done just right....and my party would probably go back, but the prices were higher than Mitchell's, and I think higher than they should have been."

  • "This wasn't the first time we've dined here. Although on the higher end, it is well worth it for the special occasion. "

  • "Great steaks and outstanding service. Everything is very tasty and well prepared with excellent temperature and textures. My daughter must eat Gluten Free and they accommodated her with ease. Highly recommend the experience."

  • "This was our second visit in 4 weeks. My friend comes from Cinci and I get off the plane from LA...S&W is close to the airport so it is easy. Our waiter Jason was excellent. We got seated as far from the family with a very loud, screaming child as possible. It was really annoying, but we refused to let ruin our meal. We split the Wollensky salad--a very good recommendation from Jason. Plenty of food and very good. I had the bone in steak. I'm still not convinced bone in is better. But, it was good. The creamed spinach was the best I've ever had at S&W. We really enjoyed it!"

  • "We were there to celebrate my son's 21st birthday. The staff was extremely attentive calling my son by name, giving each of us an appetizer and the largest piece of chocolate cake I have ever seen! Our steaks were over the top delicious and cooked to order. Our server was friendly, knowledgable, very attentive and fun! Our server was even kind enough to snap some photos of us as was the manager! What a truly wonderful experience. VERY HIGHLY recommend!"

  • "Wow! The Wine Week lunch was terrific. This is an event that should not be missed. The place was packed with others ready to have a lunch party. We arrived at 1:30, had wine, lunch great fun and left at 5:30. The food and wine were great!"

  • "We are regular (8+ years) attendees for the semi-annual wine week event. This latest lunch experience went above and beyond Smith & Wollensky's usual standard of excellence. The servers were ALL exceptional. The food was delicious. Our small group had a truly enjoyable time."

  • "Wine Week at Smith & Wollensky is something I look forward to every year and this year did not disappoint. Food was fantastic and I enjoyed all the wines we were served. I love the atmosphere during Wine Week as well, a little more lively than the normal lunch crowd. Our server did a great job of displaying the wines and providing information and most importantly keeping our glassss full. We had a great time as always."

  • "We treated two dear friends, who incidentally had never dined at S&W, to lunch during Wine Week. They were impressed with the quality of the food, wine and service. This restaurant is our favorite lunch spot when we want to spend an afternoon shopping at Easton."

  • "Columbus has a lot of fabulous restaurants in this price range. I'd rather spend the same amount elsewhere for far better ambience and more interesting food preparation."

  • "Me and some friends wanted to go for a fun night out. I suggested Smith and Wollensky because I heard that they have a fun bar area. We sat at a high top in the bar and had a great time. Cassandra approached us and told us that her and Kelsey will be taking good care of us, and they did more than that. They recommended some great martinis and bar food. They went above and beyond and made our first experience unforgettable. They were so funny and had us laughing the whole time. They were attentive without being overbearing. We had a fabulous time and will be coming back, but only to have them wait on us again."

  • "It's always refreshing to know you can walk into a place and be remembered and treated in such a special manner. Chip and Shawn are always wonderful and took time to stop by and say "HI" even though they were very busy. This was my Wifes first choice, thanks once more to Gonzo our favourite server for remembering my wifes Birthday and making it special."

  • "My girlfriend and I both got the Bone-In Ribeye and they were amazing. I consider myself a perfectionist, and i could not see any room for improvement on the steaks. The Calamari on the other hand was just okay. I've had a lot better for about the same price at the Cheesecake Factory. For the "fancy" vibe on the restaurant, our waiter(s) seemed very down to earth, and made us feel comfortable."

  • "Food, service was outstanding but, for the price, I don't think I would go to this restaurant other than once in a while. It was very noisy as we were close to a birthday celebration group and the folks at the table forgot they were not in a sports bar! It takes away from the entire enjoyment. At the end of the meal, I was starting to get a headache. Other than that, the food itself was perfect."

  • "We went to Smith & Wollensky's for a special anniversary dinner and it was amazing! The food was fantastic and the way we were treated was incredible. Thanks for making this one of the best dining experiences we have ever had!"

  • "The first time that I went to smith and wollensky, I thought it was great. This time I went, for valentines day, they were out of all of their steaks except for the New York strip. My favorite steak there is the ribeye but I had to settle for the strip. We stayed even when the waiter told us they were out of nearly all steaks. Next time we won't stay."
