Hostess accidentally gave our table to another party, so we were seated at a smaller table than we would have liked. Otherwise service was good. Wide brunch selection, large portions and everything was delicious. Would visit again.

  • Monday $1 Corkage Fee!`

    Dined on 9/8/2014
I was there with 3 girlfriends on Monday, and am delighted to enjoy their $1 corkage fee special! The wines there start at around $40, which is reasonable for a restaurant, but we managed to buy 3 bottles of casual wines there for the same amount of money. With the money saved, we managed to try a lot of great dishes: grilled calamari, ribs, ahi tuna wontons (must try!), Neptune pizza and Angry Lobster linguini (best in town).

My friends and I went here for dinner for a girls night out. The server was patient, friendly, and knowledgable. The food was delicious with large portion sizes. The only draw back was the bad sewage smell we had around our table. We were. near the patio door, so perhaps the smell was coming from outside. But it got so bad that we decided not to stay longer. Overall good restaurant for friend catch-ups and family gathering.

Made reservations for 6 using Open Table (highly recommended). Celebrating my in laws anniversary. They are in their mid 80's and very particularly about eating out. They love this place! FIL and DH had the salmon. MIL and myself had the scallop special. Cooked perfectly, moist and tender. The quinoa was on the sweet side. Might help with a wedge of lemon. All good. DS had the mushroom linguine - smells and tasted wonderful. DD had their mac and cheese which is now her staple. Finished with their mini donuts, smash apple and banana chocolate cake - perfect ending to a perfect meal. Jason as usual, was all attentive and helpful with the meal choices. We highly recommend this place.

Purchased a Groupon voucher and used it on a Sunday to celebrate hubby's birthday. Our reservation was at 11am, just when it opened. Not very busy; however, the food took forever. At least 30 mins. Server never came by to apologize for the delay. The TVs were the only good thing to kill time while we waited for food. Asked the server for an extra set of cutlery for my son, but he forgot. Noticed people waiting to be seated for the longest time but no one ever acknowledged them. Poor service overall. Asked for the bill. The server forgot to deduct the groupon voucher. Had to wait another 10 mins to get the bill corrected. Would never come here again. Total disappointment.

we weren't greet by the host with any "smile". The ladu who pours water for us looks "unhappy" as she has NO response wve when we thanks her for pouring the water for us, HOWEVER, she was VERY TALKATIVE to the guys who sat in the next tabl to us. After pouringthe water for them, shed chats and laughs with them, I just don't know or understand WHY???? I ordered the seafood rissoto, it was VERY SALTY, consider I am taking Blood Pressure pills, I can't finish the whole plate due to the "saltinees" in the dish. My daughter is lactose intolerance, the waitress didn't ask about that when we order the pasta dish, whereas A LOT of other restaurant did remind the customer if they can take cheese. Anyway, I don't think its worth my second visit!

Good service from energetic, positive wait staff. Fabulous Ceasars salad light and flavourful. Smash burger was delicious. Appetizer dips were mediocre and the naan too sweet. Salmon salad was good including the perfectly cooked salmon but overly dressed and too wet. Good lobster linguine, nice bite but not extraordinary. If you love barbecue chips, you will love the barbecue chicken salad because that's what it tastes like from beginning to end. An overly strong latte was replaced within 40 seconds. Staff took note of the allergies at the table without making the customer feel like a pariah. For that alone, they merit a recommendation.

Went here for a birthday; got a nice little private room so that my group can actually hold a conversation. Food was great and service was really good. The waiter knew his menu well and was quick to answer questions. We had a group of 10; not huge, but still a handful. This place is great for girls night out, family dinners, birthdays etc. Lots of parking (which is always nice). It was a Thursday night, so it was not crowded, but still had good energy

We've been to this restaurant 3 times within 2 months. Their steaks are really good. Portions are big and so far all entrees we tried were good. Their waiters are smart. Since we briefly mentioned that we wanted to share some of the entrees, they would bring the extra plates for us to share when the food comes before we asked. The waiter heard that it was my son's birthday, he quickly went to get him a cake pop then told him to turn around so that he wouldn't see him giving my daughter another cake pop so that she wouldn't be disappointed. They know kids and made all of us laughed. Even one of our friends who doesn't particularly like western food said that he would come again. Will definitely recommend it to others.

We decided to try Smash for our anniversary dinner and had a wonderful time. Our server David was very informative and courteous. For our starter we tried the Grilled Calamari, with Sangria, main course we tried the New York Striploin with garlic shrimp and the lamb Risotto and finally for dessert we simply inhaled the Banana chocolate toffee cake. Very impressed with the overall taste and presentation, and price wise we believe its competitive with other fine dining options on and around Hwy 7. We will definitely be back to Smash to try their coal fired oven pizza. Cheers

We arrived after a long, hot afternoon at the Zoo, with a kid who's a picky eater, and hoping to see some sports on TV. We were delighted to find a cordial, welcoming waitress, decor that was fun to look at everywhere we looked, enough TVs to watch sports without the electronic media becoming intrusive. The food was excellent and imaginative, arrived in good time, and - best of all - our picky eater loved it. We were all able to enjoy a really great dinner without having to deal with an unhappy child. Thank you! Thank you!

I originally placed a reservation for O&B on OpenTable, but Smash showed up as a place nearby and the reviews sounded pretty good so I cancelled w O&B -so glad I did! Smash is one of those places that is hidden in a plaza. From the outside it looks like just another store but inside is a great atmosphere for dining. To the food...SmashBBQ sauce is amazing. The Seafood Risotto -awesome. The Wings were amazing -breaded and lightly coated with an amazing sauce. The menu is pretty robust and the specials sound chef inspired. They have AYCE ribs which I will have to try one day. The service was amazing. Manny was polite and attentive. If your tired of the big franchise "fine dining" places, you gotta try Smash out.

First time here. There were 6 of us. The place is slightly hidden in the corner of a plaza. Once inside it's quite large, casual and relaxing. Menu selection had a good variety to satisfy everyone. Food was very flavourful. Some of has had the all you can eat rib special, they were meaty and delicious. I watched other tables get served and was very impressed with all the dishes that passed me. I would certainly go back just to try their burgers, they looked amazing. The website is a bit deceiving. we had the special soup "roasted red pepper" which was quite nice; however my Cobb salad came with large pieces of romain lettuce, huge cucumbet slices, 1 tomatoe halfed and a blob of blue cheese, 1 hard boiled egg halfed, and a small dish of pureed avocado. they completely missed the bacon (as it was part of the salad). I felt like I was doing more work cutting my salad into small pieces to eat and that cost me $16. I would not go back here.

Had an excellent dinner with my family here on a Monday evening. This was our second time at Smash Kitchen. The food presentation was like any downtown trendy place and every plate tasted great. The soup and salads were outstanding. We had the sea-bass special and steaks and there was plenty of food for us to devour. We took advantage of the BYO wine option which helps when you want to drink a good bottle (Smash has a good wine selection of its own) without paying the going price in a restaurant. Nice people and friendly service. It's all good, it's a SMASH HIT!

I have to say that my family and I enjoyed our dinner at Smash Kitchen. Not only is the food delicious but their service is outstanding. I had their dinner special Chilean Sea Bass and it was like butter. We also ordered the grilled calamari and it was cooked perfectly. My DH and DS were hungry so they ordered the Smash Burger and Monster. Great for a huge appetite! As for the kids menu, they were smart enough to cater their regular menu for kid portions. Made my daughter feel like she's a grown up. :) Would definitely go back.

We took our mother to Smash Kitchen and Bar for Mothers Day brunch and were pleasantly surprised. This was our first time dining at this restaurant and we were a little skeptical when we discovered the location was in a strip mall plaza tucked behind an animal hospital with a rather uninspiring sign. Our worries were put to rest however as the interior was actually very spacious and bright and even has a little patio in the back. The menu was quite diverse and reasonably priced. All of my family found items on the menu to their liking and we all thought the food was quite good. Our waitress was very pleasant, efficient and attentive. It was a great all around experience and we will return to experience their dinner menu in the near future.

This was my first visit on Mother'sd Day for brunch. I had crab cakes which were served with perfectly cooked poached eggs on top.Very good, but I would have liked a roll with it. My son had Mushroom soup, and a western sandwich (on a bun) both tasted great.. We ordered a cheese cake and a fresh fruit afterwards, both were amazing. The service was very friendly, the music was loud enough to hear but not overtaking the conversation. I certainly will go back.

Choice of presentation and flavouring make it unique. Interesting menu options such as Gravy Eggs Benedict (although the original exists too) were a nice twist on a classic.
