Diner Reviews
  • "This was my first time at Smash and it was great! We started with the fried green tomatoes, and deviled eggs and both were outstanding. The fried chicken is probably the best I have had in Atlanta. We will be back."

  • "I've been here 4 times and Smash has gone downhill every time. The portion size has decreased and the quality of the food has decreased. We had 4 people in our party. Two people's entrees came out wrong and had to be recooked. One burger ordered without cheese was served with cheese. Another burger that was ordered medium rare was cooked medium well to well done. We live in Brookhaven so if Smash was good, we would return on a regular basis. Unfortunately, it has proven to not be worth a return visit."

  • "I really like Smash. Good food, good service and great drinks. My only complaint is even with reservations we were seated a good 15-20 minutes after our reservation. But once seated everything was perfect."

  • "Friendly staff, good information on different dishes. I would go back."

  • "Smash has a moderately upscale menu, along with more casual bar choices. Presentation is good and the wine list is moderately priced. A nice place for a midweek meal or a Saturday dinner."

  • "Food was great - nice variety, slightly innovative, well prepared. Drink service was uneven - server seemed to be in a rush each time he came to table and left before getting full order. One scotch order was incorrect - bourbon rather than scotch. Out of McCallan. Wine selection good, other mixed drinks were generous. Overall, enjoyable evening, no feeling of being rushed, well prepared food"

  • "Nice location with friendly and professional staff. We were seated promptly and server was back w/drinks and appetizer before we ordered main course. Warm, earthy décor and ambience...what's with the Great Danes? All our food was good, fried green tomatoes big hit for the table and Ahi tuna cooked perfectly. Good variety on drink menu and reasonable wine list. We had some kind of chocolate brownie w/ice cream as table dessert, just enough for (4) people to get a nice taste. Really enjoyable place, another hit for the group that brought you Strip and Prime......we will be back. Thanks to all"

  • "I always want to try a new salad but the Kale salad is amazing....and I really do not like Kale! Each time I go, I try a new entree. Each time I have a great meal. Service is always great."

  • "went to this place for my birthday lunch and enjoyed my meal. My husband did too. Our waitress was exceptionally good and unfortunately I forgot her name but I will go again and ask her. We had the pretzel sticks to start with which were really good on its own but came with 2 dipping sauces, beer cheese and ground mustard. As entrées we had the special bbq pork sandwich. ..Real bbq thay takes a long to time cook to get those complex flavors. Also had the prime rib sandwich which was tasty...would love it even more if it was on the medium side. It was medium well but still good. The only thing I didn't like was the side ceaser salad. ..The dressing had too much mayonnaise."

  • "My husband and I have been to Smash now three times and have not been disappointed by the consistency of the food or our experience with our service. We would recommend this restaurant."

  • "The four of us really enjoyed our dinner. The crab cake was delicious and the fried green tomatoes were as well."

  • "Our dinner at Smash was better than we expected- all 4 of us thought our meal was fabulous. We were in the back room which can be used for private parties. It would be good for a private group, but we felt a little bit stuck out of the way in a somewhat lonely corner. The staff was very nice and accommodating though we did wait several minutes to be greeted and offered a drink. We had 4 different meals- 2 specials and then 2 on menu items. Like I said, they were all delicious. The four of us agreed we will definitely go back."

  • "This was my first time to Smash and it was a great experience. We were there to celebrate a good friend's birthday. We had drinks and appetizers. The food was very good. Highly recommend the deviled eggs and the pimento cheese w/bacon. Also the shoestring fries were good. While the food was very good, the service was the highlight of our evening. We had the pleasure of having two of the best servers we've had in a long while. Corey and Casey. Casey was a new trainee but handled herself like a pro. Had she not told us she was a trainee, we'd have never known. Equally as good was her mentor (trainer), Corey. Everyone should be so lucky to have Casey or Corey wait on them. They are a lot of fun. I will return just because of them."

  • "Love this place, great for a business lunch. Be sure to order a bigger table in advance if you have "stuff" you are presenting. Otherwise, some tables are pretty small."

  • "The setting was great, as was the service. However, the food was unremarkable, even a little tasteless. My hamburger had no seasoning, not even salt. My wife's fried chicken was overcooked, dry and too dark. The prices on the presented menu were higher than the on-line menu prices. A simple no frills added, unseasoned hamburger for $14 is not a recommendation for a return visit."

  • "This was my second time eating here, and it was just as delicious as the first time! The service was great and everything tasted so good that our table of 3 had! I love the Salmon with Quinoa Salad, and of course, the desserts are soooo good! I look forward to going back!"

  • "I really like the ambience of this restaurant. They serve burgers on lettuce wraps - - best diet in town! I am a BIG FAN, and my kid loves the FRENCH FRIES - I'm happy, she's happy, and the hubby loves it too. It's a BIG YES for this fam!"

  • "The food is really good and our waiter was great. But, the Hostess seemed confused about our reservation and while we waited in the Bar, the service wasn't very good. Once we were seated, everything was great."

  • "All entrees very good. Should be warned that "a crab cake" is a small serving , not for someone looking for a full serving, however delicious just not enough."
    Dined on 2/22/2014
  • "My wife loved the beet salad definitely enough for her entree. My baby back ribs were tender and flavorful- certainly not what you'd find at a dedicated barbeque place but they hit the spot. The chocolate pecan pie for dessert was amazing! Nothing overly creative or surprising but enjoyable at every course. I really enjoyed the Blackburn Smash cocktail (bourbon, Cointreau, cranberry, muddled blackberry) and look forward to trying their other "smashs." Our server was enthusiastic and new the menu very well. She managed my wife's gluten allergy and made suggestions/accommodations for each course."

  • "Tasty, friendly waitrons, good portions. Much better than last time when ever order was messed up and my friend got charged twice, And they left out her go order"

  • "My wife and I wanted to go out for brunch and really treat ourselves. Found Smash's brunch on-line and liked what we saw. When we got there it was better than expected. Great experience all-around...from the welcome at the door, to the server, to the food. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "I had the ribs (which I was given a huge rack) and the flavor was ok, needs a little more spice. My girlfriend had the prime rib and she loved it, and has said it was in her top 2! Drinks and sides were ok, nothing special. I will be back to try the rest of the menu."

  • "Went for Valentine's day - both food and service were great. Ordered the NY Strip Steak (tons of flavor) with smashed potatoes...also ordered fried chicken with mac n cheese. The fried chicken was a bit bland but mac n cheese was delish. Great service by our waiter/server. He was knowledgeable and recommended great drinks."

  • "Cobb salad had a wishbone in it. Otherwise good tasted pretty good. Service was spotty. Sometimes they were all over us but then there were times it was impossible to get assistance (waited about 10 minutes to ask for water refill). No toilet paper in bathroom."

  • "Great place for a weekend lunch with friends. Appetizers are large enough to share; nice presentation and flavorful. Bloody Mary's were fabulous - I mean come on, they come with a piece of bacon!"

  • "A pleasant spot in a vibrant area. Would recommend the skirt steak, ribs and sirloin strip. Caesar salad was good, would try a different starter. Arrived early to enjoy a cocktail in the bar and was surprised to look at my phone (too loud to hear it) and see that I had a missed call. Same number called 7 minutes later and it was the hostess (4 steps away from us), calling to let us know our table was ready. Odd system to me. Will return."

  • "I was looking for somewhere new to take an out of town friend and had a good experience at Smash Kitchen & Bar. It is part of the restaurant group that includes Twist, Shout and Goldfish. Our server was very attentive and made a wonderful wine recommendation and several food ones as well that were very helpful. The restaurant sat us in the "private room" area which was spacious and not too loud. My friend said that the signature drinks were excellent. The pretzel appetizer with cheese dip was fun and the kale salad was delicious. The french-dip-style prime rib sandwich was just ok-the au jus lacked some taste- but the fries were great. The chocolate pecan pie was a perfect finish to the meal. This was a great place to find in Brookhaven!"
