  • "We got this recommendation from a local. It took a bit to find the place, and once we did, it was easy to park, and we sat right down. The service was great and the food was amazing. The food was prepared beautifully, very fresh, and so tasty. Definitely a go to and try."

  • "Having endured loooooong waits for both drinks no entrees, I now understand the meaning of the name....food just ok, certainly not worth the wait, and the ambiance is cold, noisy and uncomfortable, a bit like dining in a garage."

  • "The food, the drinks, and the staff - all top notch. Good job, Slow Club!"

  • "The Chef (my husband and dining partner) had only good things to say about our dinner. Looking forward to bringing his boss in for dinner. I hate it when we loose great restaurants like Slowclub, in the field of newbies that we feel we have to try."

  • "A good brunch spot with unpretentious food & service. I would definitely come back."

  • "I had the spinach salad with Yellowtail - but 3 hours later I was starving. I guess some bread would have helped (or a bigger piece of yellowtail)."

  • "We were there for a late dinner at 9:00. My wife oprdered halibut and I ordered linguini to follow a salad. We found the food well seasoned and cooked perfectly. They do know their food. This is imprtant after my failed attempts to get a properly cooked and seasoned linguini at famous restaurants in the Bay Area in last two months."

  • "This is a great stop and enjoy your life spot . Easy to park easy to walk in and feel welcome. Good mixologist with good drinks at a small cozy bar . The menu is small but straight forward and delicious. I am a fan of A martini or Margaritias ; the Cesar salad ; the burger and fries. Desserts are tempting !"

  • "Dined here for the second time last week, had another great experience. We we're seating at the two person table near the window in the back, which is a great spot. Our server was great and I highly recommend the Prather Ranch burger!"

  • "Its out of the world ! The menu is short but ever dish is a punch (Disclaimer : i have tried only two yet - the frittata and flat bread and found both of them amazing, though the frittata was something)."

  • "Friend and I ..Thursday night. We both had the clam fettuccine and a very nice Oregon Pinot Gris. Exactly what we wanted. We were sat immediately and 2 mins later our waiter was with us. Very tasty. Very happy. Thank you Slow Club!!"

  • "I took my wife and my 9 month baby for Valentine's Day lunch. The staff very was courteous, and accommodating. The food was excellent. There is lots of options to eat. The dessert and wine menu are to die for."

  • "The food and service were good, but the low ceiling and noise level made me hurry to say 'Check Please' and get out of there. I was facing a wall with dark drapes hung across it, and it was just very claustrophobic, combined with the low ceilings. I couldn't read the menu with the teensy votive candle on the table, and could barely hear my dining companion sitting across from me. Won't go back."

  • "I went to Slow Club after searching pre-fixe menus for Dine About Town that offered a vegetarian entree. Sadly, the entree on the menu had been removed, but the menu wasn't updated online. After I told our server that was the reason we came to Slow Club, she said they could still make it for me, which was very nice. However, when my date went to the bathroom he said he heard the chef bemoaning the fact that I'd requested the substitution. My salad, fettuccine and dessert were all delicious. My date said his pork was tasty, but cold. Our server didn't check back until we were nearly finished so I didn't have a chance to send it back. It was packed, so this was understandable. Overall, it was still the decadent date night I'd hoped for."

  • "I've been hitting the Slow CLub since the mid-90's and it's always fun and trendy (to those in the know). The food has remained consistently good, the bar is a great place to meet after work, and the service has always been predictably good. What else can you say about an icon?"

  • "The food was fantastic---three of us had the pork loin & it was perfect with all the trimmings & veggies that it came with. We tried different entrees (& we shared a lil' of everything)--my wife had the delicious mahi mahi that was soo fresh she only shared a bite coz she wanted it all for herself. One my daughters had the range chicken & my other daughter had the NY steak strips. Overall, everybody enjoyed their selection (we were a party of six--with my 2 daughters & their boyfriends). We're definitely going back to this very cute & romantic place."

  • "We always have a great time at Slow Club with great cocktails and dinner. Not much to say except we'll be back again soon."

  • "My boyfriend and I made a reservation here on a Friday night during dine about town. It must have been a busy night for them, because we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated even though we had a reservation. We posted up at the bar in the back of the restaurant with tasty cocktails, so the wait didn't seem too bad. I started with a caesar salad that was hands down the best I've ever had. The grilled pork loin and chocolate pot de creme were also delicious, but I will definitely be back for that salad!"

  • "I went to Slow Club with my wife for Dine About Town week, as she and I had been wanting to go here for a very long time and just hadn't gotten around to it. Wow - we've been missing out. We arrived a bit early, and the host accommodated us right away. I started with an arugula salad that was light and refreshing, and my wife had a butternut squash soup that was just sweet enough to be perfect. The pork loin was my dinner option, and it was ridiculously awesome - the yam puree made it taste like dessert, helped tremendously by the pancetta and granny smith apple hash. She had a delicious pan roasted chicken which was also quite memorable. The caramel apple cheesecake was wonderful, but the pot de creme was a bit average. Try the cocktails!"

  • "My first visit to the Slow Club for brunch on Saturday. The noise level way too high for conversation. I had to raise my voice to be heard. Service was excellent, food was good. But will not return due to the noise."

  • "I eat at Slow Club before attending storytelling events at Verdi Club a half block away. My one complaint is that I eat alone and bring a magazine to read, but it's really too dark to read in the restaurant. That said, during my most recent visit I ordered the pork loin, and it was the best example of that dish I had ever had in my life. Simply outstanding."

  • "Always good, with great service. The Prather ranch burger is one of the best burgers in SF. Slow club has a great atmosphere and you will always have a good meal here."

  • "In a semi industrial corner in the hem of the mission is this great restaurant. The food is delicious, a lovely take on modern californian cuisine using great seasonal produce. Cocktails are a specialty here, so make sure you leave the car at home."

  • "I cant say enough about the Slow Club. I have lived in the neighborhood for 9 years and its always a great place and consistent. The food has always been good, but I think its even better lately. Then there are the drinks! They make the BEST cocktails. So many places have popped up serving high end cocktails at high prices, which typically comes with some attitude too. The Slow Club makes them without the attitude and a better price too! Service is always good too."

  • "If you like simple, locally sourced food and craft cocktails, Slow Club is your kind of place. It is small and gets noisy when crowded, but that is easy to get past. It is our "go to" place in the Mission/Potrero Hill area. I recommend reservations and they do have outside seating--although I prefer inside. They keep a standard menu, only changing ingredients seasonally. Their sister restaurant is Serpentine in Dogpatch. James, their master bartender, has created some of the best cocktails I have ever had--and features a "special cocktail" every night."

  • "Every entrée and side dish our party ordered was very delicious and most unique. The food was expertly seasoned with a wonderful touch that allowed the different flavors and textures to work together with no one demanding attention. The chefs seem to understand that very few foods need pepper to bring out their inherent flavors and let the natural subtleties arise. The noise level was too high making for a struggle to converse unless we shouted which only added to the din. Definitely a place to go for some scrumptious food."

  • "Too noisy . We requested a quiet table & the but us up front by the door. The waitress was rude. Our food came before drinks. I wouldn't go back"

  • "Loved the food and the vibe, however it got a bit loud for our group of friends who wanted to catch up - hard to hear as it was so very lively! Otherwise, a great time and delicious meal."

  • "The Slow Club has some great food. The table we were seated was right by the front door, and by the kitchen. Funny having the kitchen at the front door. The noise level is past awful, the four of us could not enjoy a conversation with our meal. The bar needs a massive infusion. The first 5 things I asked for were not available. I drank water that night."
    Dined on 12/18/2013
  • "It was a Saturday evening, so the restaurant may have been more crowded than usual, but the noise level was deafening. We were not able to talk at the table. The food, however, was amazing--cheese tray delicious with the fruit paste, best French fries ever, cooked perfectly, pork tenderloin was succulent and with a most interesting melange of vegetables. Definitely will go back, but maybe at a quieter time."

  • "We had a 9:30 reservation on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was about half filled. I had been warned that it was a noisy restaurant but with it only half filled it was still extremely noisy and loud music was playing to add to the noise. My pasta was very good and the salad was good although overdressed, and I am usually one who wants a little more dressing. I am not sure what the restaurant wants to be. The serving and reception staff is overly casual in their dress, and it feels more like a fast food restaurant than one that takes food seriously."

  • "Had a business lunch here and it was well done. Good food - a great burger - very good service - and a nice setup. Very utilitarian interior but very comfortable and not too loud to have a conversation - and not so quiet that everyone else could hear."
