The friendly and prompt waitstaff greeted us warmly and shared the specials of the day and recommended a great bottle of Petite Petite for our menu choices of Filet and Shrimp along with the Duck. Both entree's were cooked to perfection and served on a warm plate. Upon completing dinner, the dessert menu was offered and we shared the warm apple pie al a mode along with the banana creme pie, you can tell both were hand made with care. The restaurant was very accommodating to our large group and to our request to split the honoree's bill among the attendees. Our menu selections were uniformly delicious and beautifully presented. We noticed that although it has a good reputation among tourists, SNOB is also a consistant favorite of locals. Surprise! My husband had the steak and eggs and said they were good, not amazing. I had the leg of lamb and it was great! Served with a white potato casserole and fresh green beans. While we were talking with our neighbors (everyone friendly there) there was applause from the back of the room: A man had just proposed to his girl (even got down on his knees to do so!) and everyone was beaming from kitchen to waiters to patrons to greeters. We were celebrating a birthday and a "treat" was offered; our neighbors were celebrating their anniversary and they were drinking bubbly. A group of young women with feather head pieces were celebrating a "batchlorette" party. Festivities all around. Couldn't have chosen a better place. I had mentioned it was our anniversary when making the reservation. We were seated at a love,y table for 2. My friend from NY was down to visit, and I took her there for dinner after a friend recommended it. The food was wonderful. My friend said it was the best soft shell crab she'd ever had, and she eats out a lot. Our waitress was very sweet, attentive and competent. The decor is very pretty, hip yet also romantic. The place just had a great vibe and it was packed by 6:30 p.m. on a week night. I requested a table by the window and mentioned that the event was our three year anniversary when I made the reservations three months ago.
We were immediately seated right at 6 p.m. at a table for two right by a window like I had requested and were even given complimentary champagne to celebrate.
I had the sauteed duck breast and a spiced pecan salad with blue cheese which was amazing but the real star was the shrimp and grits my fiancee´ had. We had read the reviews about it and it did not disappoint!
The service was perfect, my drink was never empty and the food came out quick.
