  • "We have been going to Skywater restaurant every year for our aniversary & New Year since we got married in 2011. We took our friends last year with us & they were extremely satisfied with the quality of the food & service. We have been always greatly satisfied with the food and service. The only downside is that it gets a little too loud in the restaurant when it's busy. Maybe a good classical music will tone the noise down. Manual is the best & most professional server. He is a great asset for Hilton's Skywater. Thanks for being the best & providing the best quality."

  • "Our tradition of dining at Skywater prior to each MN orchestra concert is at risk. They are not aware of or prepared for this crowd. No maitre de there when we arrived for our reservation. We had to ask for silverware and salt and pepper. A baked potato delivered part of a "main meal tray" warm with no butter/sour cream etc. By the time we got someone's attention, it was cold. Visit from the manager to our table- said he would check off our reservation (he did not), offered us dessert which we did accept and then cut the main plate to 50%. Menu explanation " no quality fine dining places anymore" and "we set our menu to please our 820 rooms." So pizza and burgers are the center. sorry to lose our favorite place prior to OH events."

  • "We were pressed for time and Skywater had a table. Heard fair reviews so took a chance. It was happy hour, and the drink specials were DIRT CHEAP and tasty, particularly for a downtown restaurant. Second shock came with the menu prices. Cheap, and we found a combo deal that made it even CHEAPER! It was just the two of us and we got enough food for 4 people for $25. The menus said the pizza served 1-2. Would have fed 2-3 easily. Pizza was very good - generous toppings, good flavor, and good size! Excellent happy hour option. Lesson learned. Don't dismiss hotel restaurants, you may be missing out. "

  • "Service and food was great. One major issue. When we got to Skywater it was not crowded and they said we could sit in the dinning side or the bar side. We choose the bar side. When we went to place our order they said we could not order the Pizza because we were sitting in the bar. I asked why and the response from the waitress was "the new manger says so". So even tho the bar and restaurant was the same place we could not order pizza unless we got up and moved 5 feet. That makes no sense at all. The waitress asked us to please complain to the management since many people get upset when she tells them they can't order pizza. Other than that the place was good. "

  • "The Skywater is located in the lobby of the Minneapolis Hilton. It's cleverly set apart from the busy lobby activity and the dining space is much bigger than it initially appears. Our service was excellent. The food was unique and delicious. For the Easter brunch, there was a lamb carving station, omelet to order station, wonderful and creative desserts, sushi, and a number of great entrees. Several excellent entrees were also available ala carte. Overall it ranked among the best brunches I've had. My only complaints were a)coffee top ups should be more frequent, and b) the price. At $40 a head, it's probably about $10 more than it should be. "

  • "Reservations were pretty easy except for talking to a real person - directed to Open Table w/o being able to talk to someone. One of our party was in an electric wheelchair and we wanted to be close to the food without traveling far. I typed this in but it was not until I called and asked to talk to someone that I could confirm this would happen. Food was delicious, service was very attentive and met our every need. Wonderful family time. Very easy to park in underground parking, very wheel chair accessible. We will come again for special occasions and my husband and I will check it out for a nice dinner for the two of us."

  • "I had heard the Hilton Skywater was a good place to eat. Overall, the experience was very good. The food was presented nicely. It was clean. The staff were endlessly attentive. The only reason I do not rate it higher is that there was nothing bold about the flavors of the main coarses - the lamb, goat cheese chicken, etc were good. The most delicious items were the desserts blueberry cobler, Key Lime pie, and capuccino creme brule. I will go back."

  • "Four of us went to Skywater this past Easter for brunch and it was WONDERFUL! The service was great from the maître 'd/host down to the bus personnel. Our waitress was attentive, but did not hover. Everyone was very pleasant. The food was excellent and beautifully served. The large shrimp, the couscous salad, walleye cakes(best walleye cakes ever), 4 cheese macaroni and cheese and key lime pie were my favorites. I am not a meat eater, but my husband and our friend both said the the ham, roast beef, etc. were fabulous too. The restaurant area is not far from the front desk at the Hilton, but regardless of this the noise was very low. The entire area has high ceilings and a very pleasant open feeling. A MUST GO!"

  • "I chose Skywater for the American cuisine and proximity to Orchestra Hall. I had tickets with my 10 year old dauther for the MN Orchestra concert that night. The kids menu did offer good options for kids but I thought the adult menu was confusing and loacked options. If you want pizza this is the place to go but if you want a good steak or pasta dish, go elsewhere."

  • "We thought a downtown hotel restaurant would be fancy and delicious... but it was neither. The atmosphere was rather neutral, fine for a family. The food was particularly disappointing - we tried all three soups, and only the kale was edible. The pulled pork sandwich was great, but the onion rings were mushy. The service was nice, but slow, even though the restaurant wasn't busy."

  • "New Pizzas they are offering are excellent. We got a Gluten Free Crust and Flat Bread crust and shared, both of which are excellent. Great kids menu, as they had a kids pizza in which my daughter put the toppings on, then they went to cook it. 15 or 20 Great Drafts on tap, and my wife had a house cocktail made with fresh ginger that was tasty. TV screens and music videos make this place fun."

  • "This is our go-to spot before Orchestra Hall concerts so web have not been there for several months. The menu has changed drastically with our favorite items gone. It seems like a high class pizza and sandwich venue. However with input from Manuel, our excellent waiter , we had a tasty meal. The noise level was so loud we had a difficult time conversing. The private booths in the back were not being used although we and several other patrons had requested them. We were disappointed in all the changes."

  • "The food was great! fire baked wings were amazing! Side of roasted beets with bacon were delicious! The server (Tim) was completely frazzled and did not seem to have the situation handled. He kept telling us that everyone sat down at once and that he "already spent too much time at our table" while we were ordering. The drinks and food took a long time to come. The place was 3/4 full, but not full. It was about 1030pm on a week day. Overall, I would come here again (since I was staying at this hotel)."

  • "We ate in the lower level in the restaurant for the Friday night Pizza special. The pizza's were very good and love the presentation when they bring it to the table; they place it on top of a display piece in the center of the table. The flat bread crust they came on was very tasty. We had other tables glancing over at our pizzas and asking their server what we ordered! Great service and Great food. If you want the pizza special make sure you sit in the lower level of the restaurant as they do not serve them in the bar right now! Better yet, make a reservation as the Hilton is right in the heart of downtown so they are very popular. Enjoy."

  • "They've changed the concept a little with a fantastic new Pizza Menu. We tried three of the ten, and they were excellent. I recommend the Hail Caesar, California BBQ Chicken, and the French Porky-Fig. The Flat crust is just crunchy enough without being over done. Lots of cool ingredients on the pizzas. Plus, my kid was able to "make her own" pizza. Great value to with prices of the pizzas starting in the $6 range. We will back for Kid's eat Sunday's and Monday's"

Tried the Italian Upside Down = sausage & spinach were unique & fresh and it had the sauce on top. Service from Dustin was very friendly and always smiling. Need to try this new place, they now call the Cove at night."
