Diner Reviews
  • "We've been eating at the Space Needle's Sky City Restaurant for more than 20 years. But, the food in the past was not great, and even sometimes awful. We kept going back for the view when we'd have out-of-town guests visiting. Then something went RIGHT with Sky City in 2013. Suddenly the food became excellent! I hope it stays this way!"

  • "Brunch menu was fabulous, service is always great, view is amazing. It was louder than the previous times we had dined here but it seemed like there were a lot more birthday parties and small children. Completely different vibe than at dinner, but still awesome! I love that someone walks around and takes your photo!"

  • "Everyone should try to make it to SkyCity when they're in Seattle. Circling around as your dine, the views of Seattle are breathtaking! Food was great, I definitely recommend brunch. All in all, it was a great dining experience!"

  • "This is the most splendid setting on a clear day, you can see forever. We had brunch and my only complaint was that there was far too much food. I think it was good value for money even if they offered smaller portions you could manage, and I am not a small eater!"

  • "You know how you read those travel brochures and they talk about how great the food at X restaurant is or that this is THE spot to go to if you visit X city? Then you get there and the chef just quit last week and there is construction that has just started so your view is obscured? Well, this isn't that! This dinner both food and location far exceeded any of our expectations. The service was excellent, the food divine, and the view - well breath taking still wouldn't do it justice. The only down side to this wonderful adventure is the price of the food. Special occasion for sure - not a weekly event."

  • "We visited our grand kids this weekend and made reservations for Saturday night. We packed in so many great stops this weekend and at the end if the weekend, my 9 year old grandson listed this experience as his favorite of the weekend. He loved the food and of course the fact that we were spinning. I would recommend this if you haven't done it before."

  • "We went to the Space Needle restaraunt for Lunch on 03/11/14. My husband and I had our 4 and 7 year old with us and were very pleased with our experience. Our server was attentive but gave us lots of time to visit. The food was OUTSTANDING and they have a new service where there are photographers who will take a complimentary photo, which was very nice."

  • "It's not a place I would hit again due to the prices. However, with the unbeatable view and charming wait staff I had an excellent time."

  • "We were able to go to the Space Needle with out-of-town friends on one of those rare BEAUTIFUL Spring evenings. Were expecting OK (but not great) food in exchange for the view. We were surprised! The food and service lived up to the view. Had a wonderful dinner experience."

  • "My husband and I had a wonderful meal at the Space Needle Restaurant this week. I had the Wild Salmon and my husband had fish and chips. We both started with a bowl of the split pea and ham soup. The soup was delicious. It arrived quickly and we ate it with the complimentary bread. My salmon was perfectly cooked and the presentation was beautiful on top of some greens and potatoes. My husband's fish and chips were also perfectly cooked and delicious. The restaurant rotated 360 degrees during our meal, so we were able to enjoy the gorgeous view while we were eating. Our server was attentive, but not invasive. She answered questions about buildings we could not identify. Overall, it was an outstanding meal and experience."

  • "There were two couples who met in Seattle for a once a year get together. We loved the ambiance, views and service. The salmon was done to perfection. Other comments regarding food ranged from okay to good. We all considered the total package as worth the money. We would do it again for a special occasion."

  • "The food was ok but it was the view that made the experience worth the cost. The menu needs work. Not much to choose from & very expensive. Service was fine but not exceptional like u would expect from the top"

  • "For starters the bread basket was skimpy. Further more the beard served was not very good it was flabby and soft almost like it came out of refrigeration. My 57 dollar steak was ok at best. It was cooked good but still way over priced for what it was. There are a lot better meals in the area for a fraction of the price."

  • "Great app! No problem with my reservation and we had an awesome time!"

  • "I took my mom here for lunch and we had a great time. The food was better than I expected, though it was of course expensive. We were lucky and went on a sunny day - the views were spectacular! Our server was wonderful! She told us to feel free to ask questions about what we were seeing - we asked several, and she always had a great answer. There were more children there than I expected, but it was Spring Break, so maybe that was unusual. It got pretty loud - if you are looking for a quiet meal dinner might be a better option. Overall a great experience."

  • "The view is amazing and sunset spectacular! The food was perfect. Corn and clam chowder the best. Service was prompt, polite, accommodating and attentive."

  • "Seeing the entire city from one viewpoint and having a great meal at the same time, made it worth the visit to the Space Needle besides just the observation deck. Highly recommend!"

  • "We enjoyed our choices of several "starters", had excellent friendly service with a spectacular view of the city. This is a bit pricey but a fun place to take visitors to our city (on a beautiful, sunny day) or to go for a very special occasion."

  • "Perfect all around. From the service, to the ambiance, this place is the most romantic restaurant you can choose to take your date in Seattle... We were celebrating our 24th anniversary and it could have not been any better, it was fantastic... A bit pricey ($180.00) for 2 appetizers, 1 shared meal, 2 margaritas and 1 shared dessert, but worth every penney!"

  • "Beautiful atmosphere and view, great service and food."

  • "Basically you're paying for the view. The food stinks and the price is absurd. $50 for the Sunday brunch (we had no idea it was going to cost this much) portions are tiny, prime rib taste like rubber...just awful. But the view was great!"
    Dined on 4/6/2014
  • "We made reservations for lunch, not knowing how crowded the restaurant would be. By the time we had our late lunch, the restaurant wasn't full, which made for a quieter and relaxing dining experience. What can you say about eating while rotating and enjoying awesome and incredible views of Seattle? It was breath taking!!! The service was fine. We expected high prices for wine and the meal considering the novelty of the location......but $11 for a glass of wine was higher than anticipated. We enjoyed the salmon fritter appetizer -- great sauce. Our meal tasted fine, but would have been disappointing if it weren't for the great view. All in all, a very worthwhile experience."

  • "Our server was aweful! I brought my son with us and our server treated us like we were not good enough for him to wait on. The food was good but not worth the price. There are way better place to dine in Seattle!"

  • "This was well-worth the investment. We had time to really soak in the experience and our server was a man who was mature but extremely easy-going. His knowledge of when to engage us was exceptional, and he always came back to us to share a tidbit of the sights below. My 9 year old daughter also loved it and it is really a good atmosphere to have kids."

  • "We have lived in Seattle for quite a while. Over the years we heard mixed reviews about SkyCity, but wanted to try it. It is pricey, but it was the perfect location for a milestone birthday. We had a table by the window and my wife was given a birthday card from the restaurant. We ate delicious crab cakes, corn/clam chowder, and steaks that were cooked exactly to order. For desert we had the unique steaming ice cream treat, and we enjoyed our time up on the observation deck. Considering the cost for a two person meal without drinks was $200, it is a "special occasion" restaurant, but the view is outstanding, the live piano playing was fantastic, service was good, and the food was tasty. If you haven't been, it's a nice experience!"

  • "Went there for brunch with a 1 year old baby in tow. The staff was very accommodating of our little guy. If you're going to visit the space needle, I think it's definitely worth eating at Sky city. You get the elevator ride for free and there's no better way to appreciate the view than having a nice relaxed meal at the same time."

  • "Excellent venue, I suggest dining early enough to see during the day, catching the sun set and seeing the lights come out across Seattle. Glorious city we live in. Exceptional service, still a bit pricey but absolutely lived up to our kids special occassion celebration!"

  • "Went w/ my 4 yr old daughter to treat my husband for his birthday. I have no complaints about the taste or amount of food provided. We all left stuffed and often heard the people around us saying the same thing. Yes, it is on the higher end ($$$) but it is worth going at least once in your life for a 'Special Occasion'. We arrived about an hour earlier than expected and were seated without hesitation. We arrived for brunch. It was unfortunate that they ran out of the special for the day, which was prime rib, for the husband. Also, the children's menu does NOT include a drink or dessert!!! Regardless, the waiter offered juice and a scoop of ice cream to my kiddo. Purposeful to make the waiter look better and up the tip?"

  • "Heading to Seattle this is a treat you shouldn't skip. Service was terrific, food was delicious, ambiance unbeatable. Writing to others on sticky paper was a fun side thing to do. Prices are high but you won't be disappointed!"

  • "Because of the magnificent view and delicious food, we always enjoy SkyCityRestaurant, but a few improvements would be wellcome: - More light at the table - we can hardly read the menu! - The espresso is ALWAYS too cold - heat it right before serving it! - Please ask the guests if they want the coffee WITH the dessert - or before - or after?"

  • "Had a friend from South Carolina here for the 1st time. Even with the cloudy day, he was amazed with the entire experience. The design, shops, elevator, meal and view. Loved the rotating of the restaurant. From my 1st visit in 1976 thru this one....I have never had a less than wonderful visit. Menu selection, quality and prices are competitive with any restaurant. The overall experience is untouchable. Thank you for the opportunity to show off Seattle in such a unique and remarkable way."

  • "You don't go for amazing food when you go eat in a place like the space needle, but we were hopeful based on reviews we'd read online. The view is great. The food, pretty bad. Appetizers were flatbread and forest mushrooms. I'd describe either one of them as edible, but not well prepared or particularly tasteful. The main course were halibut and tuna. The beignet that came with the halibut was tough, borderline inedible, the halibut itself was ok, no flavor. The tuna at $40 was described as top, and raw, however the cut we got was anything but top, and it was hard to tell if it was raw or not, as it was drenched in sauce. It was definitely way over salted. Bottom line: for $250 for 2 people, the food was bad, but hey, space needle."
