Diner Reviews
  • "Enjoyed a lovely lunch with a first time visitor to Seattle, who was thrilled with the view and food. Salmon sandwich was delicious - salmon cooked perfectly and side dish was flavorful. Never disappoints when entertaining out of town guests."

  • "Overall my experience was really good! We did valet and was happy to see that it was cheaper when eatting at Sky City. Our server was beyond amazing and the view was perfect! We had a window seat but there really isn't a bad seat there. The food was expensive but the Tomahawk Steak was worth it! Now for the bad....the host station! I interacted 3 times with them and each time was the same result...awful. Will I go back yes but my expectations will be lower. "

  • "What hasn't been said about the "needle"? We all know the view can't be topped. Every 47 minutes you get a full 360 degree swing around Seattle's skyline. And the food and wine list match the height. They are both top drawer. For me, the only thing that SkyCity needs to solve and overcome is the rush, rush, rush to run you out of there in 2 hours. I enjoy a 3+ hour dinner. I think I will take some of the blame though. We did the early seating for out of town guests to get some daylight viewing. I am guessing if we did the second seating we could have stayed a little longer."

  • "I took my girlfriend as a birthday surprise and the restaurant was great and the view was amazing. The food was great and all of the restaurant staff were cordial. Like I mentioned we loved the fact that it was a revolving restaurant for we were able to view downtown Seattle twice while we dined. The only thing that I would have like is if our waitress would have acknowledged my girlfriend's birthday since it was that actual day but besides that the restaurant was great."

  • "We have been looking forward to visiting the Space Needle since we planned this trip in the fall last year. The view was amazing, as promised. The waterfront, downtown, neighborhoods, the Monorail, all to be seen as we rotated during our lunch. Food was very pricey but good quality. Our waiter was not particularly pleasant but everyone else was nice. Lots of loud and noisy kids around, but still a fun experience, once in a lifetime. Definitely worth the price for the view and the experience. "

  • "We have heard from various people to not go to the Space Needle, just a tourist trap. Well if it is, it is a good one! We are glad we did, great food, great view, very relaxing and the famous dessert (won't give it away) was so fun!"

  • "Loved my dining experience at the Sky City Space Needle. A very memorable moment for me in this great city. Best to experience this on a non-cloudy day because you can see a 360 degree view of all the fabulous mountain ranges. Love that it costs about the same price to get a delicious lunch as it is just to do the observation deck! Worth every penny! "

  • "My family and I were here for the Sunday brunch. The food was amazing, and being able to eat while seeing all the great views that Seattle has to offer was a real treat. I would highly recommend this adventure."

  • "The Space Needle is an iconic landmark in Seattle and we were able to visit on one of the SUNNIEST days this year! I was impressed with the ease of making reservations online, the ambiance, and the view, especially. The food was tasty, although, with all the hype, I expected more original tastes...little let down. The biggest let down was the service. Being a server in my past life, I feel some compassion for the service industry, but it seemed to me that our waiter just didn't want to be there. He needed a reminder to bring our juice and coffee, coffee refills, and anything "extra". In fact, I had to ask a random busser walking by our table for anything additional. DISAPPOINTED. Come on Space Needle, you can do better than that."

  • "We've been eating at the Space Needle's Sky City Restaurant for more than 20 years. But, the food in the past was not great, and even sometimes awful. We kept going back for the view when we'd have out-of-town guests visiting. Then something went RIGHT with Sky City in 2013. Suddenly the food became excellent! I hope it stays this way!"

  • "Brunch menu was fabulous, service is always great, view is amazing. It was louder than the previous times we had dined here but it seemed like there were a lot more birthday parties and small children. Completely different vibe than at dinner, but still awesome! I love that someone walks around and takes your photo!"

  • "Everyone should try to make it to SkyCity when they're in Seattle. Circling around as your dine, the views of Seattle are breathtaking! Food was great, I definitely recommend brunch. All in all, it was a great dining experience!"

  • "This is the most splendid setting on a clear day, you can see forever. We had brunch and my only complaint was that there was far too much food. I think it was good value for money even if they offered smaller portions you could manage, and I am not a small eater!"

  • "You know how you read those travel brochures and they talk about how great the food at X restaurant is or that this is THE spot to go to if you visit X city? Then you get there and the chef just quit last week and there is construction that has just started so your view is obscured? Well, this isn't that! This dinner both food and location far exceeded any of our expectations. The service was excellent, the food divine, and the view - well breath taking still wouldn't do it justice. The only down side to this wonderful adventure is the price of the food. Special occasion for sure - not a weekly event."

  • "We visited our grand kids this weekend and made reservations for Saturday night. We packed in so many great stops this weekend and at the end if the weekend, my 9 year old grandson listed this experience as his favorite of the weekend. He loved the food and of course the fact that we were spinning. I would recommend this if you haven't done it before."

  • "We went to the Space Needle restaraunt for Lunch on 03/11/14. My husband and I had our 4 and 7 year old with us and were very pleased with our experience. Our server was attentive but gave us lots of time to visit. The food was OUTSTANDING and they have a new service where there are photographers who will take a complimentary photo, which was very nice."

  • "It's not a place I would hit again due to the prices. However, with the unbeatable view and charming wait staff I had an excellent time."

  • "We were able to go to the Space Needle with out-of-town friends on one of those rare BEAUTIFUL Spring evenings. Were expecting OK (but not great) food in exchange for the view. We were surprised! The food and service lived up to the view. Had a wonderful dinner experience."

  • "My husband and I had a wonderful meal at the Space Needle Restaurant this week. I had the Wild Salmon and my husband had fish and chips. We both started with a bowl of the split pea and ham soup. The soup was delicious. It arrived quickly and we ate it with the complimentary bread. My salmon was perfectly cooked and the presentation was beautiful on top of some greens and potatoes. My husband's fish and chips were also perfectly cooked and delicious. The restaurant rotated 360 degrees during our meal, so we were able to enjoy the gorgeous view while we were eating. Our server was attentive, but not invasive. She answered questions about buildings we could not identify. Overall, it was an outstanding meal and experience."

  • "There were two couples who met in Seattle for a once a year get together. We loved the ambiance, views and service. The salmon was done to perfection. Other comments regarding food ranged from okay to good. We all considered the total package as worth the money. We would do it again for a special occasion."

  • "The food was ok but it was the view that made the experience worth the cost. The menu needs work. Not much to choose from & very expensive. Service was fine but not exceptional like u would expect from the top"

  • "For starters the bread basket was skimpy. Further more the beard served was not very good it was flabby and soft almost like it came out of refrigeration. My 57 dollar steak was ok at best. It was cooked good but still way over priced for what it was. There are a lot better meals in the area for a fraction of the price."

  • "Great app! No problem with my reservation and we had an awesome time!"

  • "I took my mom here for lunch and we had a great time. The food was better than I expected, though it was of course expensive. We were lucky and went on a sunny day - the views were spectacular! Our server was wonderful! She told us to feel free to ask questions about what we were seeing - we asked several, and she always had a great answer. There were more children there than I expected, but it was Spring Break, so maybe that was unusual. It got pretty loud - if you are looking for a quiet meal dinner might be a better option. Overall a great experience."

  • "The view is amazing and sunset spectacular! The food was perfect. Corn and clam chowder the best. Service was prompt, polite, accommodating and attentive."

  • "Seeing the entire city from one viewpoint and having a great meal at the same time, made it worth the visit to the Space Needle besides just the observation deck. Highly recommend!"

  • "We enjoyed our choices of several "starters", had excellent friendly service with a spectacular view of the city. This is a bit pricey but a fun place to take visitors to our city (on a beautiful, sunny day) or to go for a very special occasion."

  • "Perfect all around. From the service, to the ambiance, this place is the most romantic restaurant you can choose to take your date in Seattle... We were celebrating our 24th anniversary and it could have not been any better, it was fantastic... A bit pricey ($180.00) for 2 appetizers, 1 shared meal, 2 margaritas and 1 shared dessert, but worth every penney!"

  • "Beautiful atmosphere and view, great service and food."

  • "Basically you're paying for the view. The food stinks and the price is absurd. $50 for the Sunday brunch (we had no idea it was going to cost this much) portions are tiny, prime rib taste like rubber...just awful. But the view was great!"
    Dined on 4/6/2014
  • "We made reservations for lunch, not knowing how crowded the restaurant would be. By the time we had our late lunch, the restaurant wasn't full, which made for a quieter and relaxing dining experience. What can you say about eating while rotating and enjoying awesome and incredible views of Seattle? It was breath taking!!! The service was fine. We expected high prices for wine and the meal considering the novelty of the location......but $11 for a glass of wine was higher than anticipated. We enjoyed the salmon fritter appetizer -- great sauce. Our meal tasted fine, but would have been disappointing if it weren't for the great view. All in all, a very worthwhile experience."

  • "Our server was aweful! I brought my son with us and our server treated us like we were not good enough for him to wait on. The food was good but not worth the price. There are way better place to dine in Seattle!"

  • "This was well-worth the investment. We had time to really soak in the experience and our server was a man who was mature but extremely easy-going. His knowledge of when to engage us was exceptional, and he always came back to us to share a tidbit of the sights below. My 9 year old daughter also loved it and it is really a good atmosphere to have kids."

  • "We have lived in Seattle for quite a while. Over the years we heard mixed reviews about SkyCity, but wanted to try it. It is pricey, but it was the perfect location for a milestone birthday. We had a table by the window and my wife was given a birthday card from the restaurant. We ate delicious crab cakes, corn/clam chowder, and steaks that were cooked exactly to order. For desert we had the unique steaming ice cream treat, and we enjoyed our time up on the observation deck. Considering the cost for a two person meal without drinks was $200, it is a "special occasion" restaurant, but the view is outstanding, the live piano playing was fantastic, service was good, and the food was tasty. If you haven't been, it's a nice experience!"

  • "Went there for brunch with a 1 year old baby in tow. The staff was very accommodating of our little guy. If you're going to visit the space needle, I think it's definitely worth eating at Sky city. You get the elevator ride for free and there's no better way to appreciate the view than having a nice relaxed meal at the same time."

  • "Excellent venue, I suggest dining early enough to see during the day, catching the sun set and seeing the lights come out across Seattle. Glorious city we live in. Exceptional service, still a bit pricey but absolutely lived up to our kids special occassion celebration!"

  • "Went w/ my 4 yr old daughter to treat my husband for his birthday. I have no complaints about the taste or amount of food provided. We all left stuffed and often heard the people around us saying the same thing. Yes, it is on the higher end ($$$) but it is worth going at least once in your life for a 'Special Occasion'. We arrived about an hour earlier than expected and were seated without hesitation. We arrived for brunch. It was unfortunate that they ran out of the special for the day, which was prime rib, for the husband. Also, the children's menu does NOT include a drink or dessert!!! Regardless, the waiter offered juice and a scoop of ice cream to my kiddo. Purposeful to make the waiter look better and up the tip?"
