Major disappointment. At least the view was nice. I hope that dinner food and service is better than lunch. The lunch menu is very boring. Their refusal to allow us to split a salad even though we were both ordering full entrees was insulting. My steak had a big piece of gristle, it was lukewarm and the blue cheese topping was not melted at all. Our waiter was way too inexperienced for this level of dining. Big fine-dining faux-pas: The runner put the wrong entrees in front of us (is "position 1 and position 2" THAT difficult a concept to grasp?). Inexcusable. There are only a handful of real fine-dining options for lunch in Chicago. I was hoping that Sixteen would add to the short list...but not without a lot of work.

A very elegant restaurant. Service is attentive and friendly and not too stiff or formal. The room is spectacular. A great place to take out of town guests. The food is outstanding although the portions are rather small but given the type of restaurant that should be expected.

We went for the Sunday brunch which was extensive and delicious--lots of fresh seafood to go along with the usual brunch items. The wait staff was pleasant and solicitous but not hovering. The view was spectacular. The cost of $65 per person did not include drinks. Champagne by the glass ranged from about $20 to $55. We'll go back sometime but only for a very special occasion because of the cost.

The views are the star of the show at this restaurant. Although the food is good, you can find other restaurants downtown that have better food and service for the price. However, the setting and views are the best that I've ever seen. Service is friendly and efficient without being pretentious or overbearing. Definitely worth a visit at least once. The highlights of my meal were the freebies - orange blossom dinner rolls and the cold pea soup amuse bouche. Our dinner for 2 people with everything (drinks, appetizers, entrees, dessert and coffee) came to be almost $300 with tip. Great for a special occasion, celebration, or to impress guests.

We greatly enjoyed Sixteen. The view was terrific, the staff was extremely accomodating(including providing free desserts in honor of our special occasion--an unexpected, but greatly appreciated gesture!), and the food was good. My biggest critique is that the lunch menu is extremely limited. I would like to return for dinner sometime. Thank you

Tried the tasting menu for dinner. Good assortment of courses that were presented nicely and timed well. The food was good, but not on par with Trotter's or Alinea. Perhaps our expectations were too high? The sauces were our biggest dissapointment - a little too heavy and surprisingly common: the scallop dish was served with ketchup. It looked nice and tasted good, but, yes, it was definitely ketchup. Also, we could not get cell phone signal - which usually makes for a more pleasant meal, but not if you need to be reached by a colleague or a babysitter...

This was my 4th dinner here and it seems they have raised the prices by about $10 per item in the last week. At these prices the food needs to be better. They have priced themselves out of my list of dinner choices ($45 entrees?). North Pond is just as scenic and the food is much better and more reasonably priced.

Our waiter was outstanding and should be commended for above average performance! Only one suggestion: While the menus are very attractive, they were stained. It appears the stain is a result of the menu being edged in suede and having been touched by a number not so clean hands. It is a detraction from the overall perfection of the dining room. Thank you.

Once inside the restaurant, the experience is lovely. However, the ongoing construction makes parking - even valet - unpleasant. Diners also must contend with "gawkers" whoe head to the bar on the 16th floor to soak in the views and crowd the space. It would be nice if they had a clear path for those with restaurant reservations.

While the ambiance was wonderful, the wait staff still has some growing pains to go through. They seemed timid and inexperienced. Our waitress was unable to pronounce any of the french terms on the menu (e.g. haricot vert), could not comment on the different wines on the wine list, and was very slow taking our order. We believe that this could(hopefully)improve with time and more experience.

Kitchem timing and food leave a lot to be desired. Expected it to be pricey because of the name and location, but didn't expect food would be less than average. Lobster salad sandwich just had small pieces of lobster and was overwhelmed with onions. Crab salad had no taste. Catch of the day was changed twice after we ordered. Soup was lukewarm. Waited over 20 minutes for dessert. Wouldn't go back unless we heard that kitchen had significantly improved.

I took my boss to a birthday lunch. We work across the street from Trump Tower, at 35 East Wacker Drive and watched it go up from day one. So, we were the first from our office to actually go into the building. Lunch was wonderful, I had asked for a window seat and was given one, however there were seven workers right outside the window planting and the view of them was not at all pretty and rather distracting. I had read rave reviews about the food and views. A for the food, C- for the view that day.

WE very much enjoyed our dining experience at Sixteen. The food was outstanding, the service was excellent and the noise level was not a problem. We were a little disappointed in the view, after all the hype and publicity about the view, but perhaps after all the construction is completed and the patio is operating, the view will become what it is supposed to be. We would definitely consider it a "special occasion" spot.

I ordered the romaine salad w/ pear, gorgo and spiced pecans. Sounded devine. I was disappointed when it arrived as it was hardly the size of an appetizer salad. For 14.00, I estimate a scant 2 cups of romaine lettuce was used to make the salad.

The menu is designed for people who enjoy more exotic foods and don't mind paying high prices. The location, the 16th floor of 92 story building is not a plus. If the location were above the 80th floor, it would be memorable. The gimmicks (wine list in a wooden box) and ultra-modern decor only carry the place so far. The tables for two are too close. We, along with the parties on either side could not enjoy a private conversation and this was unfortunate considering it took 2 1/2 hrs for dinner. The ultimate question is would I return and the answer is probably not. There are numerous restuarants in this category and this one did not stand out. I would probably try another or return to one that I enjoyed more.

Dinner at Sixteen was great. My only complaint was that my friend has food allergies and asked if the chef could accomodate her if she chose the tasting menu and was assured that he could. Twice, I received a course and she did not receive anything - as they could not modify the courses appropriately. I also received one course that had been prepared without the herb crust although I do not have any dietary restrictions. Her restrictions are extensive and I am sure are difficult for any kitchen to follow. However, if we had been told that it would be difficult to modify the tasting menu, we would have just ordered from the a la carte menu. All in all, Sixteen was a great experience and I will return, but this did mar the evening a bit.

We arrived for Sunday Brunch and were shown our table. We sat for 15 minutes before we had to flag someone down to ask if there was a menu or just buffet option for the meal. Just the brunch, which was fine, but we wish we would have been told that when we first sat down. With no menu, and brunch on our plates, we were flying solo wondering just how much could the Trumpbrunch cost. Let me tell you because we did not find out until the bill arrived. $75 per person. Not quite worth it, especially because the service was so very sub-par. Napkins went unfolded on our chairs when we arrived back from a 2nd helping at the counter. Wait staff was hard to find. Hope you have a better experience. We won't be back for Sunday brunch.

Went for lunch on a Saturday. Service was bad. Ordered 2 drinks and a glass of wine. The wine came, but the drinks did not. The food came and still no drinks. Asked the second waiter for the drinks. They would be right out - they were not. My guest ordered salmon well done-it was seared outside and raw inside. Called the waiter - the salmon left and still no drinks. Now they brought out two complimentary glasses of champagne, but no drinks. After about 5 more minutes, the drinks finally came with an apology from the manager. He advised the drinks would be on the house. After 10 or 15 minutes the salmon returned and was cooked medium well, but still slightly undercooked in the center. Drinks were not comped when bill arrived.
