I really enjoyed my dinner at Six Peaks. We had intended to go out with another couple alone but we're at a business event that was eventually invited for dinner too! I almost forgot we were at a business table with such good food to take my mind off work. I tried the beet's salad, the scallop appetizer and a wonderful sea bass for dinner. I also enjoyed it all with a buttery flavored Chardonnay! Two thumbs up on the ambiance as well as taste for the great food!

Dinner for 4 was very nice starting with cocktails followed by soup or salad then by the main. All of it was fabulous...only to be followed by a complimentary dessert that hit the spot. The wine list was excellent with a large variety of choices.

Lovely, well-designed Valentine's dinner. Four courses, each spaced out to allow time to savor each bite and moment. Unique recipes and quality ingredients. Nice martini for the welcome cocktail and then a nice red wine to go with my duck entrée. Only regret is that I could not try the elk dish because the chef was unable to cook it anything besides medium-rare, and I like my meat medium-well. Overall great ambience and worth the special night.

Tired of the regular Tahoe City restaurants which are all good, just wanted something new. Six Peaks is a great find forgotten by many but close at hand. Great ambiance and good food priced below what you normally find in high end restaurants but just as good. Their wine list is extensive enough to satisfy any budget. There is enough room there to seat large groups. There were two larger groups seated near us when we ate there. I expected the noise level to be excessive but the sound deadening built into the restaurant made it tolerable. As long as the hotel isn't full you are likely to be able to get a table on short notice. I'll be back!

  • Lovely Christmas Dinner

Five of us were in Tahoe for the Christmas week and chose Six Peaks for Christmas Day dinner. The Prix Fix menu had enough variety for our diverse preferences. My Filet Mignon was done perfectly. The portions were such that they were not large, but enough to satisfy. The decorations for the season added to the ambience and the room itself was elegant . The service was good and attentive though there was a bit of confusion about two orders. It happens, no real problem. We highly recommend this for all the above reasons. The prices are considerable so make note. The major drawback was the difficulty in finding menus on the website. Since we have two members with food restrictions we need to check menus first.

Many of the locals don't know where Six Peaks is so I consider it our little secret. We went with another couple this time. They had never been there and were very impressed. They said it was delicious and a good choice. Food is always good, service great and this year the Christmas decorations added to the ambience.

After climbing 4.5 hours all afternoon from the Valley floor up to High Camp (8200' ft elevation) we were starving so we showed up early for our reservation. Had an exceptional Heirloom Tomato Salad along with a couple of Filet Mignon and a side of mashed potatoes along with spectacular bread and wine. Service was wonderful, as well. Only disappointment was that it was our 26th anniversary and no one recognized our special occasion.

Six Peaks is a little pricey because it's in the Squaw Creek Resort but if you're staying there it's really convenient. The food was tasty and a little bit creative. I had heirloom tomatoes, which were good but the cool thing was they came with a small round of feta that was encased in thin crispy strands like a round bird's nest. Our beef filets were fine. I'm a grass-fed beef person and these were clearly corn-fed but they were well prepared and had a nice sauce. Deserts were the usual fare but also done well. I've eaten here before, and I think they have risen their standards a bit.

We ate here twice while staying in the hotel for a conference. Both times we were impressed by the food. Some dishes were outstanding (scallops starter). Everything was well prepared and interesting. However, the wine program needs major help. On both occasions, we ordered wine, only to find out that we had been given an out of date wine list and our choice was unavailable. The wines on the list do not match the quality of the food being put on the plates. Our server on the first evening was very good (apart from the mishap with the wine). However, the server for our second dinner would disappear for very long periods. She clearly just didn't care. The restaurant's view of Squaw Valley is beautiful.

This is our favorite restaurant in Truckee. We dined there on our anniversary and ordered the special, surf and turf, and it was delicious. On Thursdays in the summer they offer a 3 course meal for $35. You can order off the menu also, but we like the 3 course because it gives us an opportunity to try something new. The view of Squaw's mountains is gorgeous. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Overall this is a very nice restaurant . I called ahead of time to make sure they had a gluten free menu, which they said they did. I asked for them to please have it at the table, which it was not. The waitress said they did not have a gluten free menu, and explained what they could do to the meals so my wife could eat them. It was extremely limited on selection of food she could have. We were seated at a window with a glare from the sun, even though most if the tables were empty. We did not sit outside as it was hot, but they kept opening the door to go outside, which interrupted us several times. The food was ok, but overpriced for what we got. 10 dollars for a very small plate (house salad) was a joke! Would not eat here again.

went away for a romantic weekend at Lake Tahoe - Resort at Squaw Creek. To make things easy we decided to just have dinner at the hotel. We ended up at an outside table with a great view of the mountains and valley - beautiful sunset. The food was delicious. We started with a beet salad (my wife's favorite) - made with a goat cheese spread and she loved it. I had an heirloom tomato salad and they've couldn't have been better. Entrees were salmon and skirt steak. Both expertly prepared with beautiful presentation. Finally, the service brought all the pieces together. We had a great waitress..very knowledgeable and also attentive without being a pest.

Went for husband's birthday and it was a wonderful experience. The duck appetizer was the best duck preparations I have eaten, even comparing to notable NYC restaurants. The sea bass I had was cooked to perfection, short ribs and wagyu burger the kids had were super tender, and the filet hubby had was also great! Chocolate lava cake was gooey and not overly sweet. All in all, we had a wonderful time with a great dinner here.

I miss some spectacular dishes in the past BUT if I asked in advance with a request to the chef, he would make note and satisfy my craving as best as possible if seasonably available. That is attentiveness and a staff that cares. Views from within are of the majesty of Squaw Valley and resort waterfalls. On the deck, there are fire pits to cozy up to with a class of fine cognac. Brunch is the best in Squaw Valley for buffet style. It is quite satisfying. Other breakfast nooks in Truckee serve up fare to our locals and Olympians such as the infamous "Squeeze In" and.... ask me! I have dined most everywhere. It is hard to complain about most. If I want to be delighted and impress guests, an evening at Six Peaks is a must!

This is a great restaurant and a great way to escape the kids and crowds that can sometimes fill the resort on big weekends. Most of the families seek out the cheaper alternatives in the resort. The Six Peaks Grille tends to be quieter and the food several steps above Sandy's Pub, the other major dining option. They have a great view of the valley and mountains of Squaw Valley. The food is great and well-prepared and the service was great.

We had a slight problem finding the restaurant- it's in the 'Resort at Squaw Creek' NOT at the top of the ski hill- but managed to take the tram back down from the mountain and make our way over to the resort with only an hour lost. The Ahi Tuna appetizer was excellent but we wanted more. The Sea Bass and the Salmon were outstanding. There was a good selection of white wine for our fish- Ferrari Carrano Fume Blanc was just right- and the lava cake tasted exactly the way it's supposed to taste. Server Simon(?) was polite and attentive.

Cocktails were great! We celebrated New Year's Eve with our 2 daughters and their boyfriends and had a great time. We had the Ahi appetizer which was not the greatest. But for the most part our dinners were great. I had the Sea Bass and it was fabulous, my husband had the Scallops; amazing, my oldest had the mussels and prawns which was a hit. My youngest was not so happy with the lingiuni. They were out of the Lava cake dessert which was disappointing but overall I would give the restaurant another try, it's a beautiful place and we had a great view of the fire works!
