  • "Took some clients here after a day of meetings. Nice atmosphere for clients but also laid-back to relax and enjoy ourselves"

  • "I enjoyed Sissy's and the ambience. The food wasn't bad & the service was very good. I just had an expectation of seasoned southern cuisine. I will definitely go back to hang at the bar."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed it. From the time we walked through the door to the moment we left. Every need was met. We will be back."

  • "I now know why this restaurant keeps hitting Dallas' top dining lists. The food is delicious. I had one of the freshest salads that tasted like they fresh picked all of the veggies that day. The chicken fried steak and okra was worth every deep fried calorie. Wonderful service! Valet parking, intimate setting. One of the Knox/Henderson gems."

  • "This was my third visit to Sissy's, and it was wonderful as before. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and definitely seem to be foodies themselves. The fried green tomatoes were served with a very tasty crab-meat remoulade. Our entree was chicken fried steak, probably the best I've ever had. Our waiter asked us a few questions about our drinking preferences; from that point on, I let him choose my cocktails for me, and he was spot on every time. For dessert, we chose bread pudding - very delicious, with just the right amount of darkened crusty top. We will definitely be going back.......I'm already plotting my next menu choices."

  • "Another great experience at Sissy's was had by my group as I introduced two associates to the Bourbon Punch, Quail and Fried Chicken while I enjoyed the Redfish. The only missing element was the bananas foster pudding which had sold out of by the time we ordered dessert, but the server graciously offered substitute desserts for the table in lieu of the pudding. I felt as though I was partially to blame as we did not arrive at the restaurant until 830pm! Otherwise, if you want to enjoy some very creative dishes with a Dixie Southern Touch then this is the place!!"

  • "I don't indulge in "comfort" food that often, but when I do I want it to be good. Sissy's is exactly what I wanted. Delicious flavors, well-prepared dishes, and served in a lovely atmosphere. The place was packed shortly after we arrived at 5pm. Would go back in a heartbeat. Definitely recommending to friends!"

  • "I feel the hype over sold the food. Yes, the fried chicken was good, moist, tender and tasty but to say it was "the best in Dallas" May be a stretch. I'll return to sample other foods from their menu. The bar was impressive though. Nice decor and enjoyable little gem in the neighborhood."

  • "Dined here during Final Four Weekend on the recommendation of a friend and knew we had discovered a gem beginning with the specialty cocktails. The Jalapeno Margarita and the Hemingway Mojito are excellent choices. The Curry Deviled Eggs must definitely be ordered as an appetizer. For the main course the fried chicken is awesome and I found the chicken fried flat iron steak perfect for a night to set aside healthy choices. That's why I enjoyed the fried okra as well. A tip...do a shared plate of the fried chicken with one of the seafood options. For dessert consider the Buttermilk Pecan Pie."

  • "If you didn't grow up eating southern fried chicken, you might like this place. But I could fry chicken better than this! Heavy crust that overpowers the chicken. Overpriced sides that were ok, hard biscuits that you had to pay for- overall I would not come back"

  • "After finally getting a reservation to check out this 'southern cooking' the food was a true disappointment - very overpriced for what you get. The cornbread was excellent - the best part of the meal. Gumbo - OK. Squash Fritters - didn't taste like squash or anything - the jelly on the side gave them flavor. The 3 beet salad was a huge disappointment - it was served a pile of spinach - not arugula - on top of very small pieces of 2 different color beets. I tasted no dill and saw no field greens - nothing like the picture on the web site. My husband loves his fried chicken - we went for an early reservation - got the food fast - and all he could say was it was over cooked. Very dark, heavy crust. Mashed potatoes and gravy - meh."

  • "I have eaten at Sissy's with friends and wanted to bring my husband. He's a southern man and said it was the best fried chicken that he has ever had! Love this place!"

  • "The food is delicious and service is great. Caveat about valet parking: Be prepared to wait at least 10 minutes to get your car from the valet (at least on weekends)."

  • "Great spot in the Knox - Henderson area. Food was phenomenal. Ambiance is great. Not a bad word to say about it. Would go back in a heartbeat."

  • "Is the best word to sum up Sissy's. Cozy comfort food served in a cozy and quaint environment makes you want to stay awhile and take in the ambiance. Of course, the chicken is the main star here and doesn't disappoint...so flavorful. The sides also offer several options to choose from with Brussels Sprouts, Squash Casserole, and Blackened Cauliflower to name a few...try the Mac n Cheese, it's delicious. I'll have to try the squash casserole on my next visit as it also looked delicious. Dessert escaped me this time, as I was too full to even think about that option. Service was attentive and friendly. Needless to say, I will be back to visit Sissy's again soon...maybe next time to check out their brunch."

  • "Food was delicious but a bit disappointed with the fried chicken. It was moist but the crust Seemed to be over cooked. Great service and lovely restaurant."

  • "Absolutely wonderful southern cooking in the heart of the M streets. Fried Chicken, Mashed potatoes and Key Lime pie take me back to my great grandmothers kitchen and are a must. Boudain Balls were extremely interesting as were all of the other dishes we tried. Portions were not for the dieting soles, but believe me, it's worth the extra half hour of crossfit... Sissys is a MUST"

  • "Food was good, would recommend. Valet is slow and overwhelmed. Table we had was next to bar and had two idiots standing looking right at us as we ate. As my wife said, it is hard to eat with four eyeballs looking at you."

  • "The hushpuppies were great. My chicken was so-so. Not hot, lacking flavor. The volume was so loud I will probably not return."

  • "I was unsure last minute if we should go to almost a year of negative reviews, but we will absolutely be going back. No exaggeration everything we had was fantastic! Our waitress Lindsey said she wouldn't miss lead us & she never did. If you go she is the best! We ordered a variety of items: fried green tomatoes (the best ice ever had hands down. High compliment!), grandmas seven layer salad (the mom said it was outstanding. Straight out of the 50's), the famous fried chicken & whipped potatoes (she thought it was outstanding. I will try this next time.), lobster & shrimp étouffée (a must have! Beautiful and so yummy), homemade biscuits (warm and fluffy), Mac and cheese, and the coconut creme pie (too good to actually describe)."

  • "This was a great lunch. It was quiet, atmosphere was so nice, food great. I loved being able to make reservations. Valet was so nice. It was great. I have already recommended the restaurant to others and I plan to go back."

  • "First of all, we had to wait in the valet line outside for almost 15 minutes to park our car. Our table was ready when we arrived & they seated us immediately. It was extremely loud & we could barely hear each other speak so I felt like we were yelling all night long. The service was just o.k. While we were waiting on our dinner 3 of us needed to use the restroom (at separate times) & we were told that both restrooms were broken & we had to go to Victor Tango's to use theirs. That was not a pleasant experience! The place was crowded & we had to fight our way through the crowd to the very back of the restaurant. The food was very good, but I don't know if we will go back after this experience."

  • "Everything we tried this evening was great. We both had the 2 piece chicken dinner with whipped potatoes. I chose brown gravy and the wife had cream gravy. We also ordered a side of the collard greens along with cornbread and biscuits. The honey butter that came with the biscuits was something we are trying to recreate at home!!! We were told about the brunch and that will be our next visit for sure. Can't wait!!"

  • "Such a great find - the decor, waiter's dress, dish ware, bar set up - all of it was fun and inviting and set the tone for a great Southern experience. Drinks were good - hubby loved the beer selection and I loved the gin fizz :) And the food - it was the best part. Hit the comfort food spot, but done with an interesting twist. Definitely try the deviled eggs!! And the short ribs - SO good. Our waiter was attentive, funny, and overall great! Can't wait to go back."

  • "I loved the upscale southern vibe Sissy's has definitely mastered. Everything on the menu seemed absolutely wonderful. The deviled eggs prepared with a sort of curry and served with caviar were delicious, and desserts looked magnificent! My steak was tender and perfect and others loved the fried chicken! I also heard wonderful things about the cocktails though did not have one myself. Definitely recommend Sissy's to anyone in the Dallas area. Plus, the neighborhood and next door antique shops are well worth exploring!"

  • "Our party of 6 sat at the big table at the back of the enclosed patio. Lots of food, lots of fun. Glad we went!"

  • "I often regret "trying out" new places - especially for cuisine that I usually don't eat by choice (lots of fried and southern style dishes) - but Sissy's came highly recommended, and it ended up hitting all the right notes! I went for a double-birthday and it was worth every minute of my time and worth every dollar. The food is marvelous, and when I leave wanting to come back to try other dishes, I know I liked it. I want to bring other friends and like I said, go back to try other offerings. I hear they are open late (midnight-ish) and have a special menu. It was everything I expected cuisine-wise, and why not splurge every once in a while - especially on one's birthday? This was the perfect place."

  • "We went here for a birthday and it was fabulous. The fried green tomatoes can not be beat. Of course the best fried chicken in town and to to top it all off amazing bread pudding that I will for sure be going back for. Great 1940's ambiance and a refreshing change of pace from the usual Dallas scene. Cant wait to share this gem with others."

  • "Sissy's was absolutely wonderful! We had squash puppies, wedge salad, fried chicken, chicken fried steak, and bread pudding. This is the reason I say only once a year. We went home in a food coma. The food was so delicious that I can still imagine eating it and that will carry me through the year. They do not skimp on butter, bacon grease or anything that makes the food taste sinful. It's a little cramped for the waiters and if you need to get to the restroom (only one stall for men and one for women), but we could hold our own private conversation easily. Country chic decor, 50s and 60s music make it very quaint."

  • "My husband and I went here for date night... and everyone was right, the fried chicken was amazing, the biscuits fall apart and melt in your mouth. We had the boudain balls for an appetizer and they did not disappoint. What I loved best was all of the additional menu options... they have a ton of food choices that changes daily/weekly that are not on the regular menu... so many sounded so appetizing! Cons were the noise for us and we were hoping for a private, quiet, intimate dinner and the tables are so close together that you can hear everyone's conversations and vice versa, so privacy was lacking. Also, if you have any hope of dining before 9 or 10 pm you must make a reservation or hope for a seat at the bar."

  • "Unfortunately this restaurant was a let down. We had some lackluster fried green tomatoes to start. The entrees were ok. The fried chicken had a nice spiced batter and the mashed potatoes were simple with a boring brown gravy. The star of the night was a delicious jalapeño corn bread muffin. This was terrific! We also tried the Mac and cheese which looked promising but turned out bland. The Mac n cheese summed up our experience for sissy's. Totally overpriced experience for southern comfort food. Two people, an appetizer, two entrees, an order of muffins, and drinks resulted in us paying a $170 bill. It was definitely not that type of experience. Nonetheless, the service was good."

  • "Overall it was a perfect lunch! The waiter was very patient with us because we kept changing our minds on what to eat. So many things we wanted to try. We were the last to leave from the lunch crowd on that day and he did not once make us feel that we had to leave. I would suggest this place to everyone."

  • "We arrived right when they opened. Our car was vallet parked and we were seated right away on the enclosed patio which was charming. The service was wonderful. I asked about the beer recommendations and they brought me a little taste to try before I ordered the recommended beer. We started with the 1/2 dozen curry deviled eggs which were topped with a little caviar. They were delicious. Then, I had the shrimp and grits which was very flavorful and my husband tried the tried chicken and mashed potatoes. The chicken was very tender and tasty. The potatoes were good but nothing exceptional. For dessert we had the bourbon bread pudding which was warm and custardy. Overall, it was a very nice dining experience."

  • "Sissy's is what all Dallas restaurants should aspire to be - great food, amazing service, no attitude. Everything was amazing, drinks, food and service. Our server was knowledgeable about everything on the menu, and had eaten it all so her recommendations were spot on. The fried chicken was amazing, even the next day. The other staff were pleasant, helpful and always around to refill drinks, or take away plates, etc. We will be back soon, and often."

  • "We went to Sissy's for a special celebration lunch and we were not disappointed. The food and service were both excellent. It is a little pricey for everyday lunch but the food and service are reflective of the pricing. Would highly reccomend for special lunches or for a girls get together or romantic dinner."
