A word from Sirio Ristorante
Inspired by the high style aesthetic of 1960’s Italy, “Sirio Ristorante is my chance to offer diners an opportunity to experience the cuisine that my family and I enjoy while dining out throughout Italy,” said Sirio Maccioni.

Born and raised in Roncegno, Italy, Executive Chef Massimo Bebber is thrilled to join the Maccioni family legacy with his new position as executive chef at Sirio Ristorante New York. He looks forward to putting his own twist on the restaurant’s seasonal Italian cuisine.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "We went to this restaurant to take advantage of the restaurant week pricing. It was a nice experience, but I would not pay the big $$$ to eat there. I did not think it was fabulous looking. The ceiling in the place was very low. The food was what you would expect from a place at this price point, but there was nothing really outstanding except the address. Sirio did better with Le Cirque."

  • "This was our first time at Sirio. We wanted to try a new restaurant and we discovered Sirio on the restaurant week list. I loved my salad. The chicken was plentiful and delicious. The tiramisu was also a generous portion and delicious. My friend ordered the wine pairings and was very satisfied with the choices. We were both confused by the pasta entrée. There was so little pasta on the plate that it seemed to be an appetizer not a main course. Fortunately, I was given so much chicken for my meal that I shared it with him. I do not understand this. Pasta is inexpensive. There should have been more pasta. It does not make sense to skimp on that. Strange."

  • "We tried Sirio for the first time during Restaurant week. I would rank it with my special occasion go tos, la Grenouille and Bernadin, as far as occasion, but the vibe is a bit more Aretsky's Patroon...sophisticated, unfussy. The kind of place where it's about the evening and the conversation, not food worship. That said, food was exquisite. Great light salad perfectly dressed, beautiful scallops in a very pretty presentation, nice desserts. Atmosphere was quiet and reserved, staff was warm and professional."

  • "The food and service continue to be outstanding. The branzino and chicken are superb. We like this restaurant so much that we celebrated our anniversary here."

  • "The wait staff was very helpful in selecting wine and dinner options, especially since we are both gluten free and my friend has even more food allergies. Even the gluten free bread was fabulous. Portions were more generous than I am used to at nice places, for those of you who like that sort of thing. It was quiet and seemed to have a decent bar scene. I would definitely go back."

  • "quite disappointing experience, this is a bad example of italian food "

  • "Sirio started out being a terrific "up town" Italian restaurant with an impressive pedigree. But our recent meal was anything but delicious, and I'm not sure why. I'm guessing Italian and Pierre are just not a winning combo, and the place is just barely holding on. The place was three quarters empty on a Friday evening -- not a good sign. Our meals -- a lump crab pasta and a mushroom pasta were almost inedible. The salads, however were surprisingly fresh and satisfying. Unless Sirio gets its act together quickly, I'm guessing it won't be around in ninety days. We certainly won't be back..."

  • "Excellent dinner recommendations by our waitstaff. We had morel mushrooms and another kind of mushroom appetizer white asparagus dish special which had parmesan foam. The large scallop risotto was tasty and really delicious. Veal Parmigiana was extremely savory and not the cookie cutter kind. Service was truly impeccable. Our very nice waiter was so knowledgeable and unobtrusive which made our night. My out of the country guest loved the NY experience because of Sirio."

  • "When we arrived at the restaurant I was presented with a menu tailored to my food allergies - it was personalized and amazing!!! (I use Open Table to reserve whenever possible so that I may advice in writing of my allergies in advance.) I have never, in 40 years of eating in outstanding restaurants had this level of service. Having severe allergies and eating in restaurants is usually stressful, as you never know how seriously the restaurant will regard the allergy. This personalized menu, plus the servers confirming with each course be presented that the allergies had been avoided, really made for a relaxed evening enjoying great food! A special thanks to Annalisa!"

  • "Service was very slow, took forever to see a waiter and we had to aknowledge him that we were ready to order. No one checked on us in between. Very disappointing! The food was just ok. The only positive is the nice dining room and the fact that is quiet and you can have a conversation, but I won't go back!"

  • "Availed of restaurant week special lunch. Loved it. Decide to go back for dinner past restaurant week. Excellent service, very attentive but not obtrusive. Architectural dessert is what this group of restaurants is known for. Delicious beignets with different ice cream flavors. Luxury liner dining atmosphere reminded us of our recent Crystal Serenity cruise."

  • "Compared to Sirio's other operations, food is surprisingly well prepared, and staff is 100 percent professional. Still, this location seems to be cursed - barely more than a dozen diners on a Restaurant Week Sunday evening."

  • "We went to Sirio for Restaurant Week... and they went the extra mile by trying to but together a great Lunch; some places try to skimp... but they did not... however if I was paying full price, I'd say it was a bit pricey... . The setting is very elegant, and a great place to bring out-of-towners. The food was very good... and would have earned top ranking except my fish dish arrived room temperature and had to be sent back...but when it reappear it was sizzling and tasted so much better, Also they ran out of a dessert (how can this happen when they only offer two desserts) .. The service was very good - the wine selection nice... but the best is the elegance of the surroundings - definitely high class... I will go again."

  • "I went to Sirio with a friend for lunch last week for Restaurant Week. We were looking for a location on the UES that we hadn't been to before and chose Sirio. I couldn't be happier with our choice. The meal was absolutely delicious! Both my friend and I had a fabulous meal. The service was also wonderful. My friend informed our waiter that he didn't eat gluten and the waiter was very helpful with helping him select from the available choices, a gluten free meal. He also assured us that he'd make a note to the chef that he didn't eat gluten. Both of our meals were superb! The chicken was probably the best chicken meal I've ever had out! Plus we were back at work before we were missed for too long. Overall, it was a wonderful meal!"

  • "Had a late lunch there with a group of four during Restaurant Week based on reviews here, and we were NOT disappointed. Overall, the meal was great! We all started with the beet salad - perfect beets and (most importantly for me) the salad was perfectly dressed. Tagliatelle and Carbonara entrees both spectacular, and the tiramisu was one of the best I've had. The service was good, not great. Things started off great - our waiter was able to answer somse questions on the menu, make some recommendations and clearly knew what he was talking about (and he steered us straight). While the actual food service went off without a hitch, I did have en empty water glass in front of me for like 45 minutes. Other than that, loved it - I'll be back!"

  • "Sirio was a great business lunch spot for restaurant week. It certainly had a bit of an old school upscale vibe, so not a place I'd go on a date, but certainly nice for work lunches or client entertaining. Food was very good and the portions weren't too small like some places do during restaurant week."

  • "Tried Sirio Ristorante on a Tuesday evening for Restaurant Week with a few friends. The restaurant is elegant but not overstated or stuffy. It harkens back to different time in the NY restaurant scene, perhaps the 1950's or 60's but does not feel old or dated. Long bar at the entrance with large screen TV's. The dining room has pleasant decor and the tables are nicely spaced. This being a snowy Tuesday the place was moderately crowded, about 1/3rd full, but with just the right level of buzz. Service was friendly and professional throughout from reception, to bartender to servers. My party all enjoyed the generous restaurant week portions but the regular menu is surprisingly reasonable for a restaurant like this. Highly recommended."

  • "Valentines day was memorable anyway this dining experience just topped it off beautifully. It was the best service I have had at any restaurant ever. It is however the only restaurant that I did not over tip at because they added a 20 percent tip to the bill. I would have tipped more. The rose at the end of the night was"

  • "Food was great (albeit, the appetizers were very small and costly). I did not expect the special to be $55, so be prepared for that. Also, the service was very negligent. We kept having to remind our waitress of the most simple things (can we please see the wine list, asked 3 times, eventually gave up), can we get butter for the bread, can we see the desert menu... etc. Not good. Lastly, the restaurant tries to be high end. But for a high end restaurant, they need to watch the details (ex: tea/coffee only have packaged sugars when they should also offer cubed sugars and should offer to refill the water when your tea diffuser is empty). They are still relatively new, so I hope they will make the requisite changes and continue to improve."
