  • "Arrived 45 min prior to 6:30 res. Got sat right away. Was expecting to wait in bar. Restaurant had lot of empty tables. Asked to relocate 1st seating for a better view. Food and view was great. Would rate higher if we got a better table without having to ask. This was a special occasion...a 16th wedding anniversey celeb."

  • "Sir Winston's is one of those dying institutions of fine dining & service. And the reason why it's dying is because of the lost art of fine dining: the simple pull of a chair, full wine service such as decanting & pouring, how plates should be served from the left & removed to the right. Unfortunately, little small details such as this are now lost even at Sir Winston's. Now, the food is excellent & the service is still very attentive, but in a nostalgic Grande Dame such as the Queen Mary, you sorta wish it took you back in time & experienced something uniquely special. Although dining at Sir Winston's is a fine experience, it no longer is a very special one, but it still beats lots of other fine dining options in Long Beach."

  • "Was't exactly what I expected. I remembered reading that there would be a live pianist, but there wasn't. Even though I had made a reservation a week earlier, my husband & I were seated by a wall with no view of the harbor. When we were served coffee, the cream that came with it was spoiled :(. On the other hand, the waiters were very attentive and the rest of the meal was excellent. I would only return to this restaurant for a special occasion since it was very expensive."

  • "We had a delightful meal at Sir Winstons. The only regret was the table placement. We had a table for two slap up against a wall where there was no view. It would have been nice to see the lights of LA. We had booked quite a long way ahead. Maybe in future, a plan of the restaurant could be given to clients, so they can choose where they sit? We had been looking forward to this meal for months and the placement was a bit of a disappointment. The meal itself, however, was really delicious."

  • "While the soups were delicious, (my companions had the lobster bisque and I had the French onion) the Dover sole was mushy. Is it possible they were serving frozen fish? On the other hand one of my companions had the scallops and they were delicious. When you are paying over $200 for a meal, you expect everything to be good! i will probably give this place one more try."

  • "This is the very definition of a "nice restaurant." Beautiful view of the Long Beach harbor. Excellent food. I wouldn't recommend this place for children. It is pricey so maybe the place to go for a special occasion. I highly recommend the Chateaubriand. I cut mine with a butter knife. The French onion soup was tasty as well."

  • "I am a fairly demanding person when it comes to a dining experience, and every element including menu, preparation of the meal, staff and service, ambience and more are all equally important to me. I have never given 5 stars to anyone, but Sir Winston's aboard the Queen Mary just changed that. They are (without doubt) the best dining experience I have had in years. Our party of 6 ordered a wide variety of appetizers, and everyone ordered different soups, salads and entrees, and every one of theme were spectacular. I can assure you that I will be back frequently. I would recommend Sir Winston's as a dining spot for high level after business dining; for anniversaries; wedding dinners; or a place to go for a memorable romantic dinner."

  • "Although Sir Winston's is very pricey, it was worth every penny. I have to say it was probably the best meal we have ever had. It was our wedding anniversary, and we were treated like royalty. From the Oyster's Rockefeller, to the Onion Soup Ceasar Salad and unbelievable New York and Porterhouse steak, we enjoyed every minute, although really had to pace ourselves, because the portions are very large, even though every thing is "ala carte". To top it off, Sir Winston's brought us the best cheesecake we've ever had, on a plate with "Happy Anniversary" written on it in chocolate and little hearts in strawberry sauce. THEN, we were also surprised with 2 huge chocolate dipped strawberries! Fantastic! A MUST if you are in the Long Beach area!"

  • "We had the perfect evening because we dined at this restaurant. From the courtesy phone call to the extra touch, made the dinner amazing! After all the food we had and a bottle of champagne and dessert, the final bill was lower than any 5 or even 4 star restaurant in Las Vegas where I live. We walked the ship afterwards and took in the view of the harbor for my wife's birthday. I will be back again!!!! THANK YOU!"

  • "Thank goodness we had a reservation otherwise we would have had to purchase a $15 dinner ticket just to board the boar. I was pleased that our reservation was kept and ready for when we arrived. I was also impressed that they even took into consideration my special request to be by window; and had two table options to chose from. The bread, butter, and rock salt was delicious. I ordered the bone-in New York Strip and was unimpressed. The steak wasn't bad, but the cut of steak had left some bone fragments in the steak, which made it awkward to try and eat. The view's not great at night so I would recommend having an earlier dinner. Overall, nice experience, but for $220 for 3 people....I'm not sure the food and ambiance were up to par."

  • "Had dinner at Sir Winston's on the Queen Mary, March 2014. Ordered the duck for entree and it was excellent. The Queen Mary is one of the few places to serve Leinenkugel sunset wheat beer, which is one of my favourites. the service was attentive. however, there were 2 mistakes on the bill, both in our favour, which we had to point out to the waiter. if we had paid the original amount on the bill, the dinner would have been about USD$40 cheaper!!"

  • "We had an anniversary dinner at Sir Winston's last Friday. Arriving at 6 PM, we had our choice of tables in the retro dining room. The ambience was great and as the room filled with other patrons, the noise level was still muted. Service was attentive throughout the meal. Because we are seafood buffs, we selected salmon and scallops. They were prepared and presented in a way that made us grab our knives and forks. Desserts were visual and taste delights. We were very satisfied with this dining experience and will certainly return with friends."
