  • "I've dined at Sir Winston's for years and will go back for many more to come simply due to the extraordinary level of service we receive. We have know some of the waiters for years and the food is amazing. You are treated like royalty and who doesn't love that!"

The food was properly prepared with enjoyable accents of flavor from the herbs and spices. Overall a very nice evening."

  • "Sir Winston's is on what I would call "level 6" of the Queen Mary. The elevators stop on "level 4". From there, we found very few signs as we wandered in the direction we had been pointed We reached the end of the ship and saw no sign and no Sir Winston's. Wandering up a flight of stairs, we finally were able to see the canopied stairs that led to the front door. After that, everything was very nice. Our entree (we split a Chateaubriand) was cooked perfectly and was very tender. The bread was freshly baked. The service was attentive, but not intrusive. For a special occasion, or just an outstanding treat of a meal, this is a place that deserves consideration."

  • "We were all treated with incredible attention to detail and outstanding professionalism. Our service dog was treated with the utmost respect and made to feel as though he were home with family. Incredibly impressed with every aspect of this dining experience. Unforgettable 5 star dining at its absolute best."

  • "The food and ambiance were great, as always. The service, although above average, wasn't up to the normal impeccable standards. We had to wait several times for more than a few minutes."

  • "Everything was perfect for our 44th wedding anniversary. The service was wonderful and the food outstanding. We loved the view of Long Beach and how special as the lights started to go on along the coastline. We are Long Beach natives and never tire of our coastline."

  • "We recently enjoyed a wonderful anniversary dinner aboard the Queen Mary at Sir Winston's. The service was attentive, yet unobtrusive. The meal, Chateaubriand for 2, was perfectly prepared and wonderfully tender. We had a wonderful harbor view window table, and were able to see the sunset, and the lights coming up along the beautiful skyline. A final touch of wonderful cheesecake for our anniversary dessert, it was a perfect evening!"

  • "Sir Winston's is a hidden dining treasure. The setting is historic, the ambiance is warm, the service is first class, and the food is excellent! My wife loves the Lamb and I always anticipate the Chateaubriand. Start your dining with their Champagne cocktail and finish with their desert souffle. try "Winnie's" once and you'll come back time after time."

  • "From arrival to departure, our night was wonderful. We arrived a little early and decided to wait in the Lounge. The pianist was quite good and we enjoyed one of their much-touted Manhattans. The Maitre D' came to seat us at our window table and we dined as the sun set and the city lights came alive. The Lobster Bisque and Chateaubriand for two was magnificent as were all of the accompaniments. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and after dinner, the waiter brought out a small cheesecake and chocolate-covered strawberries for us with "Happy Anniversary" beautifully written out in chocolate on the platter. What a wonderful experience from the excellent staff, the fantastic food, and the very romantic setting. I can't say enough."

  • "We celebrated my sister-in-law's 71st birthday at Sir Winston's. There were five of us and 3 had never been there before. The evening was perfect from the very start, seated at a round table with a view of the coastline and ocean. The service was very professional (never had an empty water glass), cocktails were delicious and the entrees were top-notch. Our waiter presented the birthday girl with her own dessert and "Happy Birthday" was written on the plate. The rest of us were surprised with chocolate-dipped strawberries. We never felt rushed and will return again for another special evening."

  • "I went here with my wife to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and have been here a few times. They sat us promptly and gave us a wonderful table with a great view of Long Beach. Unfortunately that was about as good as it would get. While our waiter was prompt the whole night, the quality of his service was subpar. He never took the time to ask us if it was a special occasion. When it came to my Beef Wellington, I told him that it looked well done and not medium rare. He told me that it is the lighting and if I didn't think it tasted fine that he'd talk to the chef. Disappointing service. When I got my Grand Marnier soufflé, it was obvious they didn't bake it long enough. The alcohol wreaked when I opened it up. Bad wine service too."

  • "Dining at Sir Winston's took me back to my parents' childhoods. Attentive, experienced waiters, classic menu full of surf and turf options, upholstered chairs and period-patterned carpeting combine to echo the venerable Queen's history. I imagine that the food- we chose steak and lobster and rack of lamb accompanied by asparagus, green beans and potatoes - as much as any other element of the experience, is true to the Queen's heyday. Therein lies the quandary- how to respect history without repeating it. Dinners seeking Traditional elegance will enjoy Sir Winston's."

  • "The food was delicious and the atmosphere nice and quiet so we could enjoy the experience. While the service was very attentive, the waiter detracted from the upscale experience, being kind of dismissive of the fare. We asked about the preparation on the scallop appetizer and all he said was, "well, they are scallops, there's only two of them." Really?"

  • "I had the Beef Wellington and it had no flavor. No salt, nothing. My fiance had the Porterhouse and she said the same, no flavor. We asked for Au Jus and the waiter had no idea what we were talking about. The best part of the dinner was the bread and butter. Hate to complain, butit really was that bad."

  • "We last dined at Sir Winston's 2 yrs ago and had fond memories. Besides the attentive service , What a disappointment ... Food was underwhelming and the dining room had a general air of lack luster appeal. What a shame especially with the wonderful view and appealing history. Goodbye old friend"

  • "We had a client dinner, where we also wanted to honor someone's promotion. The staff helped make the promotion celebration memorable. Dinner table was very spacious and the seats comfortable. Everyone enjoyed the evening. Food, wine and service were outstanding."

  • "got dressed up with girlfriend to attend the restaurant. service was great but the food was not so much. The fish had no flavor and my steak was over cooked to the point where there was no flavor as-well. The tenderloin appetizer was just disgusting as well. Having a bill of $150 just made it all feel so much worse. Not worth driving 1 1/2 hours."

  • "Again, for the sixth or seventh time over the years, my husband and I concluded our yearly USA trip with a Dinner at "Sir Winston´s". Again, the food was very good (Beef Wellington), a bit too expensive. The drinks menue unfortunately neither contains apperitives or digestives nor beers or non-alcoholic items. The service was good, although the temporary seating in the bar compartment before the allocation of our restaurant table was kind of disillusioned. In such cases top restaurants usually offer an excuse or a courtesy drink or similar. All in all, not at least due to the romantic ambience of the restaurant, we shall return next year - please advise an easy reservation tool for us German folks. Please advise an easy reservation tool !"

  • "So turns out I was in charge of setting up a business dinner in Long Beach...something unique, local and memorable. I did a little research and came up with Sir Winston's. Been on the Queen Mary a few times, never even heard of it before... Thought it might be a little risky but went for it. Was a very enjoyable experience. A little bit "stuffy" yes, a little bit dated, but all added to the ambiance. Walking around the deck, watching the sunset....enjoying the piano player in the quaint bar... a great time was had by all. At times almost like we were actually on a cruise. The food and service both excellent. I was commended for my choice of this unique dining experience. Think I'll plan a romantic evening with my wife on my next voyage!"

  • "When I made the reservations for this establishment, I had no clue how wonderful it would be to dine with access to such a view. The waiter, David made our experience that much more fantastic, and the food was outstanding. Thank you."

  • "Service & food was excellent. Many of the waiters at Sir Winston's have been there for years. While we were dining a young couple got engaged behind us. Sir Winston's a s great place for special occasions. If I didn't live in Boston I would visit more often."

  • "Sir Winston's aboard the Queen Mary is high-end dining done old-school. It's the only place I know in Long Beach where you can get a classic Chateaubriand or Beef Wellington, though the other selections looked equally enjoyable. The meat was exquisite, as were the sides... vegetables were just right, not too crunchy, not too soft. Cocktails were perfection as was the desert selection. But all this perfection does come at a price, but well worth it for special occasions or romantic nights out. Quiet, comfortable space with friendly and engaging staff. Well worth going the extra mile and coming aboard ship even if you're not staying at the hotel. Top off the evening with a stroll on deck for the classic shipboard experience."

  • "Every member of the staff was welcoming and accommodating from the moment we walked through the door. The wait staff was attentive without hovering over us. Everyone's food was delicious! It arrived perfectly cooked and plated in a simple & elegant manner. The Chateaubriand cooked rare with red wine sauce was tender and amazing. The seafood was fresh & well seasoned. At the end of the meal the wait staff brought out two desserts - one for each couple that was celebrating a milestone. Each one was rich & delicious. The chocolate covered strawberries were also a nice touch. After the meal we walked around the Queen Mary & took in the views. The whole experience was so memorable and fun for my family. "

  • "We have generally have high hopes for good food at touristy places. My wife booked Sir Winston's for my birthday and for the scenery. To our surprise the food was phenomenal. Everything from the bread to the salad and entrees was perfection. Will come back again and again! "

  • "great food. took my mother for mother's day. a little hard to find-the ship's like a maze. did not like that we had to pay $7 for parking. Also did not like that when I called the restaurant, they said they also had a regular menu but when i got there, only prix fixe. A bit pricey- $74 ++. For 3 people, ended up paying over $300 and that's w/o alcohol. The wait staff were professional and nice."

Very delicious and nice ambience. Getting our main course meals was a little slow but everything else was just on time. "
