  • "We brought our 18 year old friend here for her birthday. Her first experience of fine dining in a casual atmosphere. We enjoyed frog legs, escargot, and an amazing filet mignon that made her want to return for more. The escargot is the best around, drenched in garlic butter, and tender and sweet yet still savory. Duck confit never disappoints with an amazing blend of herbs that propels it into the beyond delicious category. We love the wine selections here. They always seem to find wines that we love. We enjoy their selection of tawny ports. The servers are all very professional and helpful.Items not to miss include mussels, duck, truffle mac & cheese, and anything on the dessert menu as well. I'm in love with Boeuf Bourguignon!"

  • "With Easter festivities coming, we just needed a nice, subdued meal and SIPS made that happen for us..Plus, the Sunday only, BYO made it very easy for us to enjoy..Her house salad and Filet Mignon were exceptional..My crab cake appetizer was not as much; surprised that there was no lump in the mix and a tad too much green pepper for me..also my Sea Bass, although it was quite fresh, it did not have as much flavor as I preferred and was a bit dry {I used her l/o Bearnaise Sauce to help it along}...But regardless, it was all-in-all a very nice meal and I'm sure we will return ~"

  • "We ordered 4 entrees no soup, salad or appetizers. Each meal was superb from the presentation to the taste. The red wines were superb and the service was impeccable. It was a busy Saturday night and there was not a gliche during our dinner. Highly recommend Sips for delicious French cuisine at a reasonable American price!"

  • "The waitress was great; attentive, funny, and great menu advise. The tables were small but manageable. My wife had a peach Bellini which she loved. The wine and drink list seemed reasonable and well rounded. For aps we had the calamari and onion soup. The calamari was a bit different from the standard and really good. For an entre my wife had the goat cheese salad and crab cake. She loved her salad and the crab cake was about the size of 3 stacked hockey pucks. Full of flavor, moist, and with tons of crabs. I had the duck confit and truffle Mac and cheese. The duck was the best I ever had. Crisp flavorful skin and juicy tender meat. The Mac was definitely a delicious adultered Mac and cheese. Absolutely wonderful!!"

  • "By their website & menu choices I was expecting over the top dishes. I enjoyed the appetizer cheese plate the most. My fish was so bland and overpriced for the portion size. The menu items were pricey, I guess the their fancy French titles justified their high prices. I don't mind paying but if you are charging high prices, at least put out a dish crazy good, not just so so."

  • "This restaurant work great in the mix of the other Phoenixville restaurants. It has it's own flair. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. It was a cold evening but looks like the outdoor patio area could be a lot of fun. The food was very good and service excellent. Of course it was a Monday evening and there were only a few other patrons in the restaurant. The bartender/waiter was very nice and gave great wine recommendations. Excellent service. Happy hour specials are great! I will definitely go there again!"

  • "Smaller than I expected from the outside however the atmosphere was very nice. The food was tremendous! Escargot is a must this is the place to give it a try if you've never had it before. I ordered the boeuf bourguignon which was wonderful although I dint like it as a pasta dish. My boyfriend had the Branzino which was delicious (we ended up trading dishes lol) We ended the night with the chocolate dome which I highly recommend its not your avg chocolate dome def one of, if not the best dessert I've had in a while. We will be back! :)"

  • "My husband & I dined there for brunch for the first time. The food was very good & the service was attentive. The only criticism is that the menu stated the dish was made with prosciutto, but instead, was actually prepared with traditional ham. We were very disappointed when the dish arrived. There is a significant difference between prosciutto & ham. My recommendation to the owner would be to change the menu so it accurately reflects the dish ingredients or notify the customer in advance if you need to substitute."

  • "My date and aI had a nice meal at Sips. We started with a cheese plate which was very tasty and went well with the nice selection of on tap beers and wines. My date had a white fish which she said was delicious, I had the steak frites which was also properly cooked. It's a very relaxed atmosphere in a historic old building. The service was excellent and the waiters were knowledgeable and helpful with selections. Since many of the meals were french, it was good to have someone translate. One problem occured when our dinners came out before the apps were done. The waiter thoughtfully comped my beer so it was all good."

The food - escargot was served in oily butter the salad was suppose to have apple, walnuts etc and there were very few to be found. Lastly, my food was barely warm but my husbands was hot. We eat out often and were disappointed in this restaurant."

  • "Not many diners at lunch on the day we were there. Service was attentive. Menu was interesting and there were a couple of specials for the day. One of my dining partners commented that her crab cake had too much filler-would prefer a smaller portion with more crab and less filler. One thing to note is that they serve lunch only on Fri and Sat, which is not what is posted on their website. If you call the restaurant, you will get a recorded message indicating the times they are open."

  • "Our entrées were good, but it was dessert that stole the show. I had the Bouillabaisse and it's good they served bread, as the portion was not large. The flavor was okay but under seasoned, with not much broth or seafood, though there were 2 prawns. The fish and shellfish were well-prepared. My boyfriend got the Duck Confit, which was good. Dessert, well that's another story! My boyfriend got the Chocolate Dome, which came in an Anglaise sauce. I guess it was pretty good as he wasn't sharing! I had the Profiteroles, which was definitely large enough to share (had we known). They were 3 large pastry puffs, light and airy as can be, filled with ice cream, drizzled with chocolate sauce and sprinkled with almond slices. They were luscious!"

  • "Overall, our experience was very good. We each started with a caesar salad. The salad was nice, but there was a parmesan wafer on top that was extremely salty. I ordered the duck confit that was excellent. There were two leg/thighs with small roasted potatoes and a spring mix salad. My wife had the sole. There were 4 small pinwheel sole filets next to what we called a blob of potatoes, artichokes and asparagus. It tasted good, but the presentation was lacking and it was overpriced. For dessert, we had the apple crisp with vanilla ice cream and the peach streusel. Both were very good."

  • "My husband and I have dined at Sips twice previously and had a wonderful experience. This time we left here feeling sad. While the food was good, our server was not. She was just not up to the task, and although we had an early reservation, and the bar area was nearly empty, it didn't matter. We got the feeling that we were bothering her, and I think she could feel our disappointment, but this only made her defensive. I had made a reservation one month in advance with a request to be seated in the bar. Most of the tables here are marked reserved. Although 2 or 3 tables remained empty throughout our time there, we were seated at a tiny table, right by the door, on a very cold, snowy night. May return one more time, but maybe not."

From a simple burger with a fancy name and choices of cheese toppings to escargot, pate and Tartines, it would be hard to NOT find something to like. The drinks were delicious - the Manhattan lovers in our group were impressed with the ability of the bartender!"

  • "The salad was good. The cocktails were average. The steak was fatty and not well done as requested; still pink on the inside. The salmon was overcooked; not as moist as it should have been. The waiter was good, but it there was a long wait after our appetizers before our entrees were brought to our table. Our table was near the kitchen and staff booth where they enter the orders and process the payments. Very disappointing. We wanted to request a refund or discount on our order."

  • "We ate here a couple weeks ago, after discovering their All-You-Can-Eat Monday Mussels Special. That was fantastic! They were the best mussels we'd ever eaten! Huge, plump, succulent mussels prepared perfectly in delicious sauces, served with well-seasoned French fries with a couple excellent sauces. The first bowl also came with a yummy crisp freshly-made crouton. Unfortunately, not this trip. Only the first serving of about a dozen mussels were large, after that they were small and nothing special, and the sauce in the second bowl was not as flavorful. The crouton was missing, and the fries were soggy. Service was very slow. And though I mentioned that nothing was as good as our last experience, the server didn't care at all."

  • "I guess you get what you ask for on Valentines. We finally got to the restaurant, after getting lost. (gps didnt help). They did hold a table for us, which was nice. The owner(we think) was friendly. He was hosting. The waitress was not too frendly. She said they were pushing the price fix menu. Which was expensive. Plus 20$ for the wine flight. She seemed annoyed that we didn't order more. The bar seemed a lot more laid back. It was good food, but I didn't expect those prices for Phoenixville. I want to try it again in the spring, sit outside and have the fromage plate and a glass of wine. Which isn't cheap either..."

  • "We are 6 friends who went out to dinner on Feb. 1, 2014. This restaurant is about 45 minutes from our homes but it was worth it. Everyone at our table loved their food without exception. The only complaint was that one person wanted scallops as an entree which was in the appetizer list but was told by the waiter they couldn't have it as an entree. Everyone at the table wondered why they couldn't just increase the portion and call it an entree. Other than that, the soups, appetizers, entrees, deserts and coffees were wonderful."
