Diner Reviews
  • "The food is not bad, once it arrives....and more importantly when someone takes an order. Terrible service. Had heard real good things about the restaurant. Big disappointment. Would definitely not go again."

  • "Great food, hip ambiance. A bit pricey, but typical for the location."

  • "Sino has great food and a cool vibe but the food was sent out SO fast. We sat down, ordered and food came right away. We were still eating our apps when the main course arrived. People want to enjoy the food and converse. However, the food was fantastic as always and we do love coming here. We will certainly be back!"

  • "Great Dim Sum. For a entrée I recommend the firecracker chicken."

  • "Went on a Friday, service was slow. Food was bland and music was too loud. Not a fan"

  • "I have to admit, the food reminded me of delicious take out chinese food, except served on a fancy plate. So i guess the experience would be worth it if i didnt have access to panda express or marina foods but since i do, it wasnt exactly worth it for me. Also, the noise level was really loud. Didnt understand how people could go on a date there since i could barely hear myself talking. On a positive note, the waiters were really nice and the bathrooms were designed to be really fancy as well. Not sure how much that matters to you at a restaurant though. It was clean which is definitely a plus."

  • "Host is very slow in sitting us at our table. Had to wait for 30 min eventhough with reservation and restaurant was pretty empty at the time."

  • "Great service - we made reservations and were seated as soon as we got there, and the waiters were very friendly and responsive. Food was expensive but very good. Noisy - definitely a trendy place for the 20-something."

  • "We'd been to Sino for the bar several times, but this was our first sit-down dinner experience. The menu was different from the Open Table menu, which I had reviewed before going, just fyi. My husband picked the winners - calamari with jalapeno dipping sauce and the spicy prawns. The wok fired beef was basically beef with broccoli at any old chinese restaurant. The one unfortunate thing was that our waiter did not seem to know the menu well at all so while he was friendly and fairly attentive, when asked what type of chilli peppers were on the calamari, he made up a type of pepper. I'd go back and try other dishes for sure and the bar is always fun!"

  • "We typically have great service at Sino but on this day, our service sucked. He wasn't communicating well, some of our dishes came later than others (i.e., rice came 20 mins before soup), we repeatedly asked them to give us 2 extra plates and 2 chairs (asked 3x), kids drinks didn't have straws..."

  • "My family celebrated my mom's birthday and we had the Sunday Dim Sum. Really good!"

  • "I met a group of women for lunch here. Service was attentive, food was tasty. The only downside is I had a headache from the salt/sugar sauces that was used to season the food. That is not Sino's fault though, I think my body is just not used to the seasoning combination. We had chicken lolipops - fried chicken and a sweet tangy sauce (good but probably wouldn't get again), chicken wings (perfectly crisp), brocollini (sauce served on the side), firecracker chicken (very good), tangerine beef (awesome) and soy noodles (awesome). Overall, if you like this style of food I would recommend their pre fixed lunch menu. Soup/salad, rice, veggie, chicken, veggie or beef dish and dessert for $16."

  • "I love the feel of this place and I definitely would return to try more dishes. Thanks for treating us well. I would request you to provide more vegetarian options as there are only few options available right now."

  • "too dark in the dining area that you can't see the menu. the food was ok and a bit salty"

  • "I've only been here a few times after work to meet up for a drink/Happy Hour with some friends. But then when I heard there was DimSum here, I thought I'd bring a business associate here for brunch/lunch to try it out. Not your tradtional DimSum restaurant with the carts going around by you to peek at, so we weren't sure how it would taste. But man, were we impressed! Everything tasted so good and let's just say we'll definitely be back!"

  • "The food is very good. Good variety. However, the music is very loud. Quieter in the back. Also have outside dining which is away from the noise. Though the food is very good, I think the restaurant is overpriced like a typical Santana Row restaurant."

  • "I absolutely love the food at Sino. You can't order anything that is not good there! It's a fun restaurant and I always enjoy my experience there. The sangria is amazing as well. I would definitely recommend it!"

  • "We had dinner here for New Year's Eve. No one informed is that at 9:30pm the music goes up and there is a dance floor (our reservations were at 8:45pm). We could not hear any conversation at our table at this time. Restaurant is great, and we have been here for NYE about 6 years ago and the music was not the same. Staff should have informed people with late reservations that this would happen."

  • "This was my third time here and I was extremely disappointed with the staff. The service was very slow and were not accommodating whatsoever. I will not be going back ever again."

  • "I had dinner Thursday night as a new customer. The food was great as well as the service however it was extremely loud. I was sitting in the back of the restaurant and I could barely hear my friend, then the DJ started before 9:00 and we ere forced to stop talking since we couldn't hear each other at all and had to rush our dinner to be out of there. I would recommend starting at 9:30 with music. I'm sorry to say that I won't be returning. I recommend sitting outside when the weather is nice."

  • "Came here a while back and had a really good lamb dish (I normally do not like lamb, but this was an exception). Wanted to have it again, so made reservations for dinner. We arrived early, and were able to enjoy happy hour, as well. Unfortunately, they no longer serve the lamb dish I want. Ordered the tuna stack and pork potstickers at happy hour, and the firecracker chicken, Angus beef chow fun, and braised mix vegetables and tofu for dinner. Overall, the service was great, the food was good but the chow fun was greasy and dinner was pricy, and the restaurant was a bit loud and dark. This restaurant is better suited for parties."

  • "Sino is definitely one of the top restaurants at Santana Row! Make sure to order the blueberry mule, it's a great drink! The place has good vibes and the food is delicious!"

  • "Yummy firecracker chicken, green beans, whole grain fried rice and spicy dragon prawns!!"
    Dined on 12/13/2013
  • "The food was superb. It was nice because unlike some places it wasn't just soaked in a sauce, but seared or panfried to perfection with the sauce complimenting, not overwhelming. When they sat us down they informed us it was "family style" which was great! I would say that if you get at least one dish per person you should have a good amount of food and wont be over stuffed."

  • "Prixe Fixe was $19 for soup or salad and a entree and desert..The MaPo tofus was good , the Fiery Chicken could have used more sauce. the Moscow Mule was good. Prices should be more in the $12 to $15 range"

  • "We had the bacon fried rice, and the tangerine beef. Both were very good."
    Dined on 11/16/2013
  • "The food was pretty bad. The overpriced crab cakes, when they arrived tepid and 40 minutes after being ordered were the saddest excuse for the name in memory. Also, they tasted of canned tuna. The sides were good, but the sea bass was too charred and fishy to be fresh. Combined with the loud music (Ok in bar, not in dining areas) the whole experience left a bad taste. And to top it off I had a stomachache right after, so the food may have been bad in more ways than one. In short, stay away until there's a real house cleaning."

  • "We had a 5:45 PM Saturday reservation and were promptly seated. We didn't have to wait too long before our orders were taken. Soup and appetizer also came at a reasonable time. However our other two dishes came a full 40 minutes AFTER we finished our soup and appetizer. I finally asked our waiter about our order, seeing that all the other tables had gotten their food (some have left already!) and we were the first in our dining area to be there. The food was only OK, definitely not worth the wait or the price. So disappointed. This was our second time at the restaurant and our first-time experience was OK. This time I was entertaining guests and really wished we had better service!"

  • "Overall, a good place for a nice and relaxing lunch.. The service was decent, we got an outside table which was great, but the food didn't live up to our expectations! am not sure if I would recommend it to friends!"

  • "Its a very nice restaurant, but this time unlucky with the service, took long time before could even order drinks, very hard to get hold of someone at all when we wanted to pay. Food as always outstanding!"

  • "Sino used to be one of our favorite places. Service and drinks quality went downhill for a while and we stopped going for several months, but they seem to have turned it around a bit. We had excellent service with this experience, the drinks seemed less watered down, and the food was tasty as ever. It was disappointing they ran out of crab, but what we ordered was good. We can start coming here again!"
