Went to Karma for a quiet Valentine’s Day dinner. We had an awesome experience. Our server was kind and courteous. He made great recommendations which we enjoyed!! Food did take sometime to come out but it was understandable due to staffing levels and business. Nonetheless, when it did arrive it was worth the wait! Would definitely return.

This place has received some positive reviews, and we were headed to a movie in the area, so we decided to try it. The decor is dingy. The floors are either dirty, very warn out or both. We ordered food as we had somewhere to go and we hoped the cuisine would be better than the atmosphere. It was not. While not offensively inedible, it wasn’t very appetizing or tasty. The garlic Naan was downright awful. The shrimp appetizer was just plain old American diner fried shrimp sitting on lettuce with no spices or sauce. The spinach in the saag paneer tasted like Bird’s Eye brand frozen creamed spinach. The paneer was tasteless. The chicken dishes were a little better but not good enough to make us consider trying it again for take out. On a positive note, the potions are generous.

The good is well prepared, different, delicious and the waiter was attentive to spice level. There were several things that were not available which was disappointing and it’s a byob which should be prominent on their menu. Our party if 4 would definitely go back and it was a great placed for mixed eaters. My chicken was great as was the veggie paneer .

I had a dinner date with a longtime mentor and friend. The restaurant was pretty full by 7. The service and food was excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable about the dishes and was very courteous. Our meals arrived in timely fashion and were delicious. There are varying spice levels from 1-5 for all dishes and only cash tips are accepted. If you are looking for an affordable and scrumptious (authentic Indian) meal with a casual dining experience, this is the place to be - walking distance from Philly's famed Old City district and a short drive away from Penn's landing.

Karma is absolutely delicious! Our waiter was attentive and patient- he took the time to describe dishes we weren’t familiar with and helped my partner find a sauce he’s had in the past but couldn’t remember the name of. Although the ambiance is a bit quaint the food and service was phenomenal. Definitely a new favorite of mine!

I went initially for my grad dinner then I literally went back a week later with my boyfriend. And now I’m trying to convince my friends to go with me again but honestly I’m willing to go alone if no one wants to close enough to now. I definitely recommend.
