Welcome to Blue Cat Steak & Wine Bar. We are located in the center of downtown Burlington in a little alley called Lawson Lane. In our cozy corner of the town we serve all Certified Angus Beef (CAB) steaks and a variety of fresh seafood and vegetarian options. We use local produce whenever possible and feature a rotating selection of Vermont cheeses.

...and please keep in mind that we are available for private events of all sorts 7 days a week; we'll do the catering or bring in your favorite caterer.

Steak was nothing like the picture, it was flat, and not a good cut. Balsamic on the salad is truly just balsamic no vinaigrette. Side veggies were steamed, with limited flavor. Bread was the best item severed.

We ordered 3 filet mignons, thinking it was an upscale steakhouse. What they served was not filet mignons. It was a rather fatty piece of beef - a cut we could not identify. When we questioned the waiter, he explained that we got the end cuts of the tenderloin. This same explanation was given to the couple next to us and also to the group two tables from us. With just entrees, one cocktail and a bottle of wine, the bill was over $300. The service/kitchen was pathetically slow - as it took almost an hour from the time we ordered to receiving our meals. After waiting 15 minutes for the waiter to collect the bill - we just walked the credit card up to the bar to pay.

Not sure how well staffed the kitchen is, but there were only two tables waiting for food and it took a full hour for our meals to arrive.

This was a pleasant surprise for me. I had never been there and only did because it was recommended via Open Table. I was taking my grandson because he had his final home game of his Junior Hockey season the next day and I knew a steak would be good. Well, the food was superb (recommendations by the server were right on) and the experience was more than special. Only drank water but they didn't seem to mind and kept bringing us bottles of the stuff without having to ask... The server was friendly but astute -- made sure we understood the menu and also smiled & laughed a great deal... All in all, a wonderful dining experience. tnx, g.w.
