Valanni restaurant opened its doors in September of 2000, introducing "Medi-Latin" cuisine to Philadelphia. Situated right off of the "Avenue of the Arts," Valanni has become a pre-theater ritual and place to meet for a night-cap for many who live in and around the neighborhood. Had the paella one of our favorites we like to get in Mediterranean restaurants. The portion easily would feed up to three.

Incredible tapas type small plates. Pork Belly Cuban sliders, Parmesan crusted calamari and crispy brussel sprouts were delicious. We enjoyed the opportunity to try multiple dishes. The Oreo beignet dessert is highly recommended!

Had a wonderful 3 course pre theater meal with cocktails. I had the arugula & butternut squash salad, salmon entree & Oreo cookie beignet & a Valanni royale. The carne & seafood paella , Brussels appetizer & chocolate tres leche were also ordered by my companions. We especially liked the salad , paella, Brussels & beignet . We all enjoyed the varied cocktail menu & the quick service.

A group of friends and I met before a show at the Wilma and had the pre-theatre menu for $35. I had crispy Brussels sprouts with apples which was a great combination. For my entree I chose Paella as did 3 of my friends. A good portion, chockfull of seafood, I couldn’t finish it all, but I wanted to! For dessert, chocolate tres leches cake, and I finished it all. Great meal, great location and a perfect start to an evening at the theater.
