About this restaurant

  • Neighborhood gem
  • Good for special occasions
  • Good for business meals
Dynamic menu of original Southern Italian cuisine that dominates this welcome addition to Hell’s Kitchen. This addition is made even more welcome with the breathtaking beautiful transformation of a once historic space into a hip, fun, stop for dinner that any gourmand will savor.

Formerly, known as Film Center Cafe, Bocca Di Bacco boasts Italian cuisine from Puglia, Sicily, and Sardegna with the endless selection of wines from small vineyards in Italy. Exemplifying our policy of being “Farm to Table” operated, we use the healthiest ingredients from locally grown vendors. Located in the heart of the Theater District, this new modernized restaurant features innovative new recipes and the use of the Enomatic Wine Systems.

We chose this restaurant due to the location and reviews. They did not disappoint. Everything and everyone was great. Service was prompt and friendly since we were going to a play. All of us enjoyed our meals. My friends were very happy I chose this restaurant and will return.

Bocca di Bacco remains one of the great restaurants in the Theater District. While prices have gone up since the pandemic, they are still reasonable (certainly by Theater District standards) and the food is always excellent.

Pear salad was very good. Main meal was very delayed with no explanation or apology. Bolognese was cold when served. Fritto Misti: Calamari was definitely not made in house - was like breaded O-rings. Shrimp was over fried

The food and the location were great. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a restaurant and gone to the restrooms that were disgusting smelling as this one.

Very loud but cozy environment. Service was good. Pear salad was fresh and tasty. Arancini were yummy. Pastas were delicious. Filet mignon was average but priced well. Chocolate lava cake was not hot and molten which was a disappointment to my kids but it was very tasty. Cannoli shells were soft and soggy but, again, they were tasty. We had a 5:30 reservation and didn’t appreciate being told by the hostess that we only have the table for one hour. It took the typical hour and 45 minutes for our 3 course meal and it was perfect timing for our pre-theater dinner. Not sure why she had to dampen our experience from the outset and make it seem like we were going to get kicked out after an hour. We were a family with 2 kids. Did we look like the types who were going to spend the whole night taking up that table with repeated rounds of alcohol and long conversation? I found that to be unnecessary, inaccurate, and rude.

Food was ok, service was just ok...I think our server was working by herself. Had to ask others multiple times for things like fresh pepper, and another glass of wine. They'd say yes, then disappear, and we'd have to wait till someone reappeared to ask for it again before they got it. Also very loud...will think twice before returning.

Definitely an amazing option for dinner in Hell’s Kitchen! Service and atmosphere are one of a kind, but the food is absolutely delicious! Would return without a doubt! Fernando our server was so kind, knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you so much!
