Morimoto's contemporary Japanese menu infuses traditional dishes with Western ingredients and preparation techniques. His seasonal and ever-changing selection of raw fish preparations will feature the freshest seafood available as well as locally grown fruits and vegetables from supporting farmers. Morimoto's signature offerings include Toro Tartare, presented in a small tray with condiments including crème fraîche, wasabi, avocado, nori paste, chives, crispy rice, and dashi-soy. Tuna Pizza made with raw tuna, anchovy aioli, and jalapeno; Morimoto Sashimi, a terrine of seared Toro, smoked salmon, barbequed eel, tuna and Hamachi served with five different sauces in pipettes.

                                                                                                                                                                                  My family had a terrible Father’s Day experience at this restaurant. The food is very much not worth the price we paid. My sister ordered the halibut and it came out stone cold and overcooked. The sushi/rolls were decent but nothing exciting or special. The angry chicken was cold and overcooked as well. Our waitress was very inattentive. We had our water filled once at the beginning and never again. Waiters and waitresses would walk by our table and look at us, but never thought to refill the water. We eventually had to go to a station to grab the water pitcher and refill it ourselves. Usually when you eat at a restaurant, the waiter/waitress will come by and ask how the food is after receiving it, but that never happened. The only redeemable quality was management being decent enough to comp parts of our meal, but I still think that the final price wasn’t worth it.

The fish and grilled meats were covered in sauces so cloyingly sweet they were inedible. The sushi and sashimi were overpriced for the quality. The appetizer lacked flavor. The staff were friendly and lovely, but the food was really disappointing.

                                                                                                                                                                                  I absolutely love Morimoto's and so happy he opened a restaurant in Napa. I have been to his restaurant in NYC and Honolulu so it's great to have one in Napa. I ordered the tuna pizza, seafood salad and the unagi clay pot. I cannot say enough how delicious it was. My server was wonderful and even surprised me with a little birthday treat. I sat outside and it was a beautiful day. :) I will definitely be back!

The service was attentive and the noise level wasn’t bad as we had lunch at noon. Would definitely return for the Calamari salad which was like a piece of art!
